    addons\anims.pbo 45d error :S

    Source: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265/en-us *EDIT* If you don't find any errors with Chkdsk ( even though this smells like HDD failure to me ), Suma may be right with the chipset drivers. Try updating your IDE bus driver.

    Where is mouse cursor?

    I knew you yould use spacebar as some sort of range finder in a tank. You hit space and the distance to the target is displayed. Does that have an impact on the firing angle, like the laser range finder in a real tank ? Does it calculate ballistics ?

    Try downloading them from Intel.com please. It's got an Intel P965 chipset.

    Is this game worth buying?

    Yes ArmA is worth buying in any way. If an addon comes out ( Of course *after* the game has been patched to a fully stable and enjoyable state ) I am going to buy that as well.
  6. In that case I recommend deleting some files from the partition, or resizing it to 6 GB at least. I may be wrong but the game has some sort of pagefile and it de-packs pbo files while you play - thus needing space for that. Additionally, each time when you join a multiplayer game, the mission data is loaded onto your hard disk as well. Some maps have half a megabyte, and if you play a couple weekends ..

    Sick to death of this

    Did you try re-installing the game, and apply the 1.02 patch again ?

    Random Crashing

    Sounds like an overheating problem to me. See HERE please.
  9. I have installed it to a 6 GB partition and it works fine. Where's your problem ? lol You can't seriously tell me you can't free up some disk space. Try deleting dome pr0n

    System locks up ! Help please ?

    Sounds definitely like an overheating problem. Check if all fans on your mainboard and gfx cards are running properly. Additionally you might try reducing the frequency of the GPU by 50-100 MHz and see if the problem is persistent.

    SLI and Direct X and FPS

    I find it strange that Paco copy-pastes an article about Oblivion from Custom PC UK and just replaces "Oblivion" with "Arma". Unless he is an Author on that site of course ; )

    Where did you download the cipset drivers from ? From Asus ?

    ArmA -> Can't run game.

    Exactly @ above poster. => All people with nForce chipsets who have an onboard sound chip + additional PCI sound card installed, or an onboard gfx chip, try disabling these via the BIOS. => Additionally, don't get the nForce drivers from the Asus website, but from Nvidia.com. => If you have unusual controllers connected to one of your USB ports, unplug them. ( One guy could not launch the game because he had some xbox controller or something like that hooked up ) Also, you can look up what chipset you have in your mainboard manual, or, if you don't have a manual, by entering your mainboard name into Google. It's hard for me to keep up looking up peoples hardware specs. ^.^
  15. I found the game is utterly HDD hogging. Most of the lag I get is because of my harddisk not being able to deliver the data quickly enough. It's loading constantly. I recommend you read these two knowledgebase articles, and take a look at the clean boot thread in this forum. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308417/en-us http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353/en-us
  16. Indeed. No-one who bought a German-language version is entitled to bitch now, about not having his own language. You bought it - now deal with it. But after all I know you will be able to switch languages after having 1.05 applied. Correct me if I'm wrong.
  17. I can only recommend to read the MS knowledgebase article. A clean boot will do a lot for performance. When I bought Arma, I formatted my C drive the day before and set up WXP from the scratch. After installing ArmA it ran smooth like chinese silk. Now, a few months later, and with a dozen more programs installed, it partitially lags like jack. All because of god knows how many system processes, and some HDD fragmentation on top of that.

    Winmm.dll error did you get it?

    What soundcard do you use if any ? Your mainboard utilizes a Realtek AC'97 soundchip. Try disabling it in the BIOS and see if the error remains please. I had exactly the same error, as I mentioned before, and thing is I have an Asus mainboard with onboard sound as well. Where have you got your chipset drivers from ? From the Asus website or from Nvidia ?

    Stupid noob question

    You use the trigger and activate it by radio alpha. Then you sync the first waypoing of your helos with the trigger. The result is, that your helos will only start moving after radio alpha has been issued. You don't even need to know any scripting syntax for that. Just use the editor.

    Crash on Load

    Try disabling your onboard sound device if you have any. Also get the latest chipset drivers.

    Re-install Windows XP without game-cracking tools. Could take months to get into the depths of your regisrty to find out what remains there are.

    Error

    Your gfx card is not compatible with DirectX 9.0c. Check out the minimum requirements for this game.

    problem when starting up the game

    The checkboxes come, and after the last checkbox it crashes ?

    ArmA -> Can't run game.

    Okay that might indeed have been the problem. Could the ones who still get the winmm.dll error on startup try disabling their onboard sound-chips in the BIOS ? Only if you have a mainboard with onboard sound and an additional soundcard of course. @ Malden, you can check here for drivers for the VIA KV2 k8t880 http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx?PageID=2 @ kaja: Those are nForce2 drivers. And they are for Windows XP. You need Vista drivers for the chipset you have got. What mainboard have you got ? I am pretty sure this is a driver problem here, somehow connected to mainboard components. I had exactly the same problem when I bought Arma and fixed it by installing new chipset drivers.
  25. Actually I know about many applications that don't function properly under Vista. World of Warcraft does not run on Vista as of last week, as example for a game. I don't say it's impossible to run Arma under Vista, but if you can't get the game to run on Vista, I tell you installing it under XP will most likely fix your problem. Check what your game manual says. System Requirements: Windows 2000/XP.
