    jumping - not there???

How about a climbing feature ? Wouldn't that statisfy both sides ?

    AT/ M136 / RPG7

It takes about 2 and a half seconds to reload the RPG7/M136. Meaning you can fire 3 grenades in less than 8 seconds. Since I have never used such a thing in real life, my question is whether that is a realistic value. I regard it as way too fast.

    jumping - not there???

Even though I strongly oppose the idea to introduce a jumping feature, I still think it's weird that a full grown virtual soldier can be stopped by a 30cm high sheep fence. I mean you really should be able to climb over it or something.

Full report on Armoury in ArmA

I think the test SOBR made is very interesting. I still don't understand parts of it though. What exactly does "20mm of KA-50 AP LOW: Damaged: 15x - Destroyed: 52x" mean ? I am *very* much supporting the idea to apply more realistic armour / damage values to certain vehicles and weapons, but I also understand that this needs extensive testing from many people to agree upon a model that is both enjoyable and realistic. ( Don't think that has got to be a contradiction ). How about we expand this test, and everyone interested in this issue can perform an own test and report back. every vehicle should be fired at with the most common weapons. From Front, Side and rear, from 200 meters or so. Just a thought.

should you be able to move and shoot in ARMA?

I have taken a serious and calm approach now. And as mentioned so many times correctly now: - You can aim and move and shoot - You can run and shoot - you won't hit jack though - it's meant to be this way. So what exactly is this poll about ? You want to be able to run around, jump and aim through the scopes while doing that ? Go away please.

    Urban combat

Actually I found the AI to behave strangely on some locations. E.g. I placed a russian AI squad into a small base on the east coast of Sahrani, and set waypoint for them to walk patrol in a perimeter just along the bases border. No matter what I did, they would start to flank 100 meters up a hill, away from the base, and then approach the next waypoint as if there was some 'no-go' area around the south side of the base. I've tried several times to create the group new, and move the way points. Meh.

Bullet Fire and Flight Model in 1.02

Okay I see that the situation is not statisfying for any of you right now. But let's not forget that only four people have reported this issue so far. That means it is a VERY rare phenomena, and reproducing it to find the cause might simply take some time. Check out the changelog of the last patches. basically all problems people reported have been addressed, or are currently worked on. In the meanwhile, I suggest you report this bug on the Wiki ( if not already done so. ) @ robocheese 1. Email tech support is free. 2. You should be able to get tech support in english language by email. In case you don't, and need help translating the German email I'll be glad to help out. 3. I don't know anything about the protection mechanisms used by Bohemian. The DVD's are protected by Securom and Starforce as far as I know.

I took a look at your dxdiag.txt Try updating your nforce2 driver. The actual version is 5.10. Nvidia DL page Make sure to grab the international WHQL driver. I saw you have a German WXP. Hope that helps.

European Armed Assault To Feature Exclusive Conten

Here's what my crystal sphere says: As we were used to with OFP, Arma will be patched more in the coming weeks - the 505 games release will be the up-to-date patched version - and we will have the same content implemented into the patches already - thus having the same version of Arma at the same time when it's released by 505. And three or four months later, there will be a Resistance .. erm .. an expansion pack that you can buy.

should you be able to move and shoot in ARMA?

@ The person who made this poll
  12. I must say I have not experienced a single crash since I've applied 1.02. Before that I would crash every second time I tabbed out of the game. On Topic: I understand that the water/boat/coast related CTD only appears when playing in MP ?

Bullet Fire and Flight Model in 1.02

I think the main problem here is that you have applied an INOFFICIAL language pack. And you have installed an INOFFICIAL modification of the game. Both of which BIS has neither influence nor control over. I recommend you de-install the game comletely - remove all modifications, and re-install the game again - patch it to 1.02 - and see if the error is persistant. I don't know if this 'Fade' protection is a myth, but if it is not, it would be just logic to conclude that modifying game files might trigger it. No ?
  14. As mentioned before in another thread: You guys might want to try booting WXP64 in safe mode to apply the patch.

    East Wepons vs West Weapons

The difference of the weapon arsenals in OFP was a lot more diversified. But that's exactly what made it interesting. I've read something in another thread which I think describes it best: "Game balance should not be a matter of the programmer, but of the mission designer" You can't have both, a realistic warfare simulation AND balanced weapons. In so far I have to agree with some of the guys above me. Life ain't fair !

should you be able to move and shoot in ARMA?

    1) You *CAN* already walk and shoot at the same time. Just look through the scope and walk. 2) You don't fire a gun while running around or even walking fastly in reality. Only Sylvester Stallone has mastered firing a 20mm minigun out of his waist while jumping over hurdles.

    Dedicated administration

I'm sorry - I'm just a little sys-admin and former 2nd level tech support operator for Microflop. I have no clue about tools. You posted on the BIS forums, and you are entitled to receive feedback. Positive and negative. That is how a forum works. In case you do not wish to receive feedback, you might like to submit your 'feature request' through the 'feature request' form on the Wiki. All I hear you saying is "BIS make us an API." You want to know why I oppose this ? Because I see mountains of things that need to be improved and fixed to make the game enjoyable right now. And I really would not want to spend BIS a single man-hour on something as useless as a GUI for people who want to admin a server from their couch. I can't admin my customers systems from my couch either, but have to be logged into my PC and stare at the screen. I stick to my opinion that there is no need for a GUI. If someone can't admin a box through a command prompt - he/she should not be an admin. My opinion. Period.

    Armed Assault weapon ballistics

The actual muzzle velocity for a 120mm SABOT round is around 1690 m/sec. Hard to measure the time to impact if you have a given viewdistance of 1200 meters ( As in my case ). The travel time will always stay way below a single second, so I don't think the actual state is completely unrealistic. What I deem far more important, are indeed the ballistics. Bullet and projectile drop for instance. While you can use the space bar in a tank as laser range finder, it does not appear to have any sort of impact upon the firing angle. Which is sad. Concerning the wind: Is there wind at all in Arma ? I never noticed some.

    Codemasters still working on OFP2

I had to dig out an old hard disk to prove it - but Codemasters already mailed me EXACTLY the same mail around two years back, when asked about OFP II It's one god damn template !! lol

    Dedicated administration

@1 Why would you want to follow a game from your couch. Sorry I don't get it. @2 I really don't need a GUI for what .. 5 commands ? @3 I do not want a script to decide about who to ban and who not. Anyhow, you can have such a script running on your server whenever you like to. No need for a GUI either. @4 If you host the box yourself you *have* a shell. If you rented a server, the logs are of little to no importance to you. As much as I try, I fail to see why anyone would need a GUI for the few simple tasks which administrating an Arma server demands. If BIS are running out of game-related issues to fix - let them make a GUI if they like. Fine with me heh.

    Dedicated administration

[sarcasm]API ain't leet .. making the box do what you want by shell .. that is ^.^[/sarcasm] A serious question though: What need is there to be able to ( e.g. ban players ) remotely without being logged into the server as player ? Are you going to host 100+ machines or what ? If you do have the server protocol source code from Gamespy it should not be hard to create a GUI with MS Visual Studio to instruct/query the server. Was there a GUI for OFP server at all ? Never used one.

    Armed Assault weapon ballistics

I wouldn't only love to see realistic ballistics implemented into the game - I think it is mandatory. Hope BIS will get around to look into this matter.

    D3VD9_30.DLL

Stating the name of the DLL correctly would have been rather useful to solving the problem. The topic title reads "D3VD9_30.DLL" - And that's not a Microsoft file.
