Well first off, i was reading the paper and a small intresting article came up about a possible new star treck like engine scientists are investigating that could make a trip to mars possible in 3 hours and a trip to the closest knowen solar system in 3 months! I did a quick search on google and found this more detailed article about it: Linky Link to the paper (havent tried this link yet as its a pdf and i just reformated my pc recently) Well now thats amazing stuff! this could open up whole new possiblitys, not only for space travel, but earth as a whole. Earth quake hits some third world poor country? need help ASAP? No proplem! stick supplies and rescue teams on a hyper drive air craft and fly them there in 0.5 seconds! Although i think it could be pretty dangerous messing around with things such as other dimensions and such.... I sure wouldnt want to be the first to test it out.

Hmm i think i see a proplem with it though (bare in mind im certainly no physic genius like some you guys here) So its all fine and well slipping into that dimension but wouldnt we still have the proplem of building a prepolsion system that can reach incredible speeds (like the speed of light) whiles in that dimension? Also if i remeber correctly the faster you go the more time slows down, and at the speed of light time for you would come to a complete hault. If its at a complete stop how can you switch the damn thing off when you reach your location? Bah! Im most propely talking complete bull. Hope some one can correct me on all that.

yea that should improve in armed assault when join in progress is implemented, for now youll just have to wait for the game to finish intill you can join in and of course theres servers with silly ammounts of addons you got to download, thats what really drove me away from MP. All the damn little tiny useless addons people include in some missions which involve me having to search and download crap for hours on end intill i can join the server, then i gotta wait for the damn game to finish till i can start playing... roll on armed assault!

Or a crazy hillusinating script that makes you see things and fly around with all crazy colours! not like id know about that sort of thing... could be useful for missions! like police raid an illigal mushroom farm or somthing.

Unlike most games OFPs addons are mainly for use only in custom missions and such. Although there are plenty of 'Total conversion Mods' out there that replace just about every thing in the game (guns,sounds,soldier models) which you can use in the original OFP campaigns Hope that helps!

Join in progress (JIP) and possible problems

I have also experienced the fact that people will join the loosing side/side with less people more then people switchin sides becasue their side is loosing.(actully iv never seen it happen) As for your other concerns about JIP im hoping that itll be a server option or an option for who ever made the mission to set weather JIP will be aloud. Maybe different options such as JIP aloud bit only as spectator, JIP aloud but only as civilian, JIP aloud but only for a certain side, etc... -
This is a link to ofp.cz home page. No gravity gun can I find here! Only chainsaw, drill and nail gun all of which I already have in my garage!! Anyway, I shall checkout this zombie mod think soon and keep searching for a gravity gun! I've made a space in my garage already! thats strang, link works for me! well with some simple scripting you could have it so you can punch them back. But i just use a few shot gun addons to keep the horde back the original zombie mod the zombies dont moan but theres an edited version floating about some where with moaning zombies. Edit: Go to the user missions section and look up ZOS (zombie out brake simulation) and Bio Hazzard (one of my old missions) if you want to check out some zombie missions. I think the link to the zombie mod is also included in one of thoughs thread.

The zombies (there actully just civilians with the bloody boys like theyve been blown up) run towards you, use the punch anmin, and do dammage to you. All done with the use of scripts.

Oh god please some one convert the zombie mod when armed assualt comes out with new optimization with armed assault hopfully with can have more zombies in game at any one time also! could even make low detailed zombies for thoughs truely massive attacks.

Ive always liked playing the underdogs really. Like the resistance. I dont really find it fun if, for example playing 'special forces with Uber equipment take on 1 billion poory armed terrorists whiles using the top of the rang technology and artillery' Ive always liked being out numberd and out guned and having to scavange for weapons and equipment and be really challanged. Supose thats why i love making zombie and Sci-fi alien invasion missions so much.

Very nice! downloading.... Maybe you could make a few 1920's gangsters and mafia bosses to go along with it and a car! sadly wouldnt be able to do drive bys though inless you attach the tommy gun to the vehicles side door and add a 'gunners' position i supose. then again im not addon maker.

no one has an awnser for sure, and we havnt seen any evidence in screen shots to guess. so all we can do is hope multigunner posistions are in ArAs

well this has been an exciting new year and end of a year for me. First off my brothers been in hospital over christmas after get run over by a taxi driver after a disagreement about the fair. Secondly i got one hell a hangover! (mmm fry up will cure that) and i just found out my best mate got bottled in the face last night by his ex girlfriend lets hope 2006 is any better. Happy New Year all!

too be honest ive never actully missed jumping in OFP. I cant even think of a situation ever in OFP where ive thought to my self "damn i really wish i could jump" Its not like its a corridoor shooter with boxes and crates blocking your path which require to bunny hop over. Maybe a small jump for civilian class would be OK but not essential. Edit: But to actully awsner your question. Think of Armed Assualt as a massive over haule of the OFP engine with loads of new stuff added like islands, vehicles, and a campeign and fixes. Also improved performance and multiplaer network code (with join in progress!. Most of the game play and game machanics where used to now in OFP will more or likely be the same in ArmA. Where OFP2..or rather the Next Generation game.(since they cant use OFP name any more) will have an (almost?) completely different and improved engine capable of much more then the current OFP engine. And most likely new game play and game machanics.

I dont belive Austraillia will be there, i think you might of got confused with some the early shots that used a vehicle from the Australlian pack in VBS as a place holder intill they made more vehicles for armed assault. (thats what we presumed at the time) Im pretty much confident itll be the US (as usuall in games) and russia, or a an army with mainly russian equipment.

great little pack. Could make a nice addition to the recently released star light island. love to see more urban scenery, like tiped over rubish bins, discarded newspapers and other general rubish you see on the streets. maybe a more different types of fences? an off licence to sell thoughs crates in as well
