I've read through the discussion in a similar post below but can't seem to find the information I require. In this mission I completed the following: 1. Deliver supplies to Lamentin 2. Go back to Lamentin and wait there for support I am now working on Hold the Southern Road, which I have held for an eternity. I have killed everything that came my way. I went out looking for strays. I went to other towns and nothing is happening. I can't get anything to trigger the end of the mission. There may be more guys out there but I can't find them. Am I missing something here or should I just give up on this mission, which just doesn't seem to be particularly well done. Thanks for any help you can provide. I've tried waiting for hours and searching for more bad guys but nothing seems to do the trick. Dadster

Thanks. Didn't download anything but patches so I'll just backup the two Red Hammer files. Dadster

I'm reformatting and it's been a while since I backed up. If I have all the official OFP games and no add-ons, just what comes in the box, do I have to backup anything other than the Users folder? Thanks. Dadster

This is most likely a device conflict. I had this problem using Windows XP Pro and the latest Soundblaster Live drivers. I got a new sound card from Hercules and all the problems went away. Don't know what devices you are using but it's probably your sound card or graphics cards causing a conflict. People are going to bring up the size of your power supply etc., but most of the time the problem is one of the devices. Dadster

Just go buy the latest (or an older) NVIDA card and you want have any of these problems. Dadster

I doubt OFP had anything at all to do with this problem. Dadster

With input from Codemasters and the help of theavonlady I've managed to pull together information that might be useful in you want to do a complete install of all three games. Â While I am aware there are several threads on this topic I've yet to see one that gives complete instructions (and no references to various FAQs). Â Please forgive me if I've missed this in another thread. Â These instructions apply to the American version of the original Operation Flashpoint Cold War Crisis, the Operation Flashpoint Gold Upgrade, and Operation Flashpoint Resistance. Â These instructions are from Codemasters and tell you how to bring all three programs up to the latest updates. 1. Install Operation Flashpoint Cold War Crisis 2. Install Operation Flashpoint Gold Upgrade 3. Run Patch 1.46 (OFP_Upgrade_4v146) 4. Install Operation Flashpoint Resistance 5. Run Resistance patch (1.91) (OFPRes_upgrade_1_91) 6. Run Red Hammer 1.90/1.91 Compatibility patch (OFP_RedHammerUpdate191) 7. Run Campaign 1985 update (1.90/ 1.91 ) (OFP_Campaign1985Update) These steps will bring you totally up-to-date on all three programs. Â Hope this helps. Â Dadster Additional Note: If you did the 1.90 Resistance patch, Red Hammer update, and Campaign 1985 update at the time they originally came out, you need only run the Resistance 1.91 update. Â You do not run the Red Hammer or Campaign 1985 updates again.

Please make OFP2 easier to update. An update button would be great. Just click on it and it goes and gets your update. The way updates were done in the original was often very confusing. Please make this easier in the next rendition. Thanks. Dadster

I have been trying to complete this mission but it seems extremely difficult. My group takes out a few vehicles and then all my support goes down in flames. Â I'm then all alone in my helicopter and besides trying to take out the rest of the vehicles I have to fight three enemy helicopters. Â I'm finding it extremely difficult to take out the 'copters. Â If I try to run away and get to the support base it seems they either follow me there and blow things up or beat me to it and blow things up. Â I end up not being able to repair or rearm or whatever. Has anyone completed this mission? Â If so, how'd ya manage it? Â Thanks. Dadster

I seem to have a very difficult time with that task. Thanks for any pointers. Dadster

Yup, I finally did it. Problem was my leader kept dying. The first time he lives I'm able to complete the mission. I've now done all the single player and campaign missions! Dadster

It seems to me that your anti-virus software should be able to get rid of it. If not, just download the sysclean file on the website you have there, read the instructions on running it, then run it. Everything you need to do is described on that website. Dadster

Has anyone ever figured out what the order of the upgrades should be? Â I have the following: Operation Flashpoint: Â Cold War Crisis (Original US Version) Operation Flashpoint: Â Gold Upgrade Operation Flashpoint: Â Resistance I had to do a clean install of my operating system. Â So far I've installed all three of the disks above in the order listed. Â I'm trying to figure out exactly what I need to get the latest version of everything (except the server, which is obvious). Â My source for upgrades is: http://www.flashpoint1985.com/download/index3.html I believe I need to run these files in the order listed: Red Hammer 1.90/1.91 Compatibility patch Resistance patch (1.91) Is this correct? Â Also I do not know if I need to run this update: Campaign 1985 update (1.90/1.91) If I do need to run this update, where does it fit it in terms of the files listed above, that is, when should this update be run? Â If anyone has any clue here I'd very much appreciate the feedback. Â Thanks. Dadster

Maybe I'm missing something here but if you disable your sound device in Device Manager don't you lose sound? Â But as for the Soundblaster Live I had to ditch mine to play certain OFP missions. Â I would get to a point where the sound would either turn to slow motion or cut off entirely depending on which drivers I was using. Â I tried both the generic XP drivers (slow down) and the latest Soundblaster Live drivers (no sound) and nothing would work. Â Eventually I bought a new Hercules sound card and have had no problems with any programs since. Â Dadster

How i do a 1:1 legal backup of my us goty disk 1
Dadster replied to omega007's topic in TROUBLESHOOTING
I really don't think we should be telling people how to copy discs here. Anyone can come on and claim to want a legal copy so it's garbage to believe that and post a response. I have over 70 games and probably over 125 game CDs and I've never had a problem with one yet. So unless you're playing frisbee with them you don't need a backup. Plus, I don't know about BIS but if you really do screw up your CD most game companies will replace it for a minimal cost if you send in the original. Dadster -

My own solution was option 3, though 1 and 2 do work.  I spent many hours trying to find a solution to this problem and can reproduce it 100%.<span id='postcolor'> Same here. I wish they would make updating this game more understandable.  I had everything set with 1.90.  I then ran the Resistance Patch 1.91.  After doing this I rad the Red Hammer 1.90/1.91 Compatibility patch and got the following error: File C:\Program Files\Codemasters\OperationFlashpoint\CAMPAIGNS\redhammer.pbo: bad size: 16742967 (old=16754925, new=16742967) To run this the info told me I needed to run the Resistance Patch 1.91 first, which is what I did.  Can anyone tell me what's going on here? Also, do I have to run the Campaign 1985 update (1.90/1.91)?  I ran the 1985 update when I upgraded to 1.90. I really really really don't want to uninstall and reinstall everything again, which is what I usually end up doing.  That is getting old though. Thanks for any help.  And if there are any BIS representative reading this can we just have an update button for OFP 2?  It'd be great to be able to avoid all these issues each time a patch came out.  Thanks. Dadster

Okay, a couple of things. Â Go into Control Panel - > System -> Advanced -> Startup and Recover and turn off the automatic restart when a Blue Screen occurrs -- that way you can see what is causing the crash. Now, let me tell you I spent three weeks trying to resolve a similar problem. Â Do this test. Â Go to Device Manager and disable all the Creative Sound devices (Sound, video, and game controllers). Â They try to play the game and see what happens. Â I had a Soundblaster Live! card in Windows XP and the only way I was able to get around this problem was to get a new sound card. Â I ended up with a Hercules Gamesurround Fortissimo III 7.1 and haven't had the problem since. Â If you check out my post below regarding rebooting and OFP ( http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=26980 ) you can see all the things I tried. Â There is definitely some issue on my computer with Soundblaster and XP. Â It could possibly be the same with the Audigy drivers. Â Anyway, give it a shot and let me know how it turns out. Dadster

I recently upgraded my computer and since I hadn't been able to play the single player mission C02:  Battlefields I went back to try.  Several times now I've had the mission crash and reboot my computer.  Prior to this I'd had absolutely no problems with OFP.  The computer has been running flawlessly for about a month now and I've had absolutely zero problems with any programs or games prior to this.  I have not tried any other missions since upgrading the system.  Any help here?  Thanks.  System Information ------------------ Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 1 (2600.xpsp1.020828-1920) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) Processor: Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 2.40GHz Memory: 512MB RAM DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0 (4.09.0000.0900) --------------- Display Devices --------------- Card name: NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200 with AGP8X Manufacturer: NVIDIA Chip type: GeForce4 Ti 4200 with AGP8X DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC Display Memory: 128.0 MB ------------- Sound Devices ------------- Description: SB Live! In case anyone is interested I had to replace my Creative Soundblaster Live audio card to solve this problem. Â I not have a Hercules Fortissimo III and not only does it sound great, I get no more blue screens. Dadster
