Thanks. Didn't download anything but patches so I'll just backup the two Red Hammer files. Dadster

I'm reformatting and it's been a while since I backed up. If I have all the official OFP games and no add-ons, just what comes in the box, do I have to backup anything other than the Users folder? Thanks. Dadster

This is most likely a device conflict. I had this problem using Windows XP Pro and the latest Soundblaster Live drivers. I got a new sound card from Hercules and all the problems went away. Don't know what devices you are using but it's probably your sound card or graphics cards causing a conflict. People are going to bring up the size of your power supply etc., but most of the time the problem is one of the devices. Dadster

Just go buy the latest (or an older) NVIDA card and you want have any of these problems. Dadster

I doubt OFP had anything at all to do with this problem. Dadster

Please make OFP2 easier to update. An update button would be great. Just click on it and it goes and gets your update. The way updates were done in the original was often very confusing. Please make this easier in the next rendition. Thanks. Dadster

I seem to have a very difficult time with that task. Thanks for any pointers. Dadster

Yup, I finally did it. Problem was my leader kept dying. The first time he lives I'm able to complete the mission. I've now done all the single player and campaign missions! Dadster

It seems to me that your anti-virus software should be able to get rid of it. If not, just download the sysclean file on the website you have there, read the instructions on running it, then run it. Everything you need to do is described on that website. Dadster

With input from Codemasters and the help of theavonlady I've managed to pull together information that might be useful in you want to do a complete install of all three games. Â While I am aware there are several threads on this topic I've yet to see one that gives complete instructions (and no references to various FAQs). Â Please forgive me if I've missed this in another thread. Â These instructions apply to the American version of the original Operation Flashpoint Cold War Crisis, the Operation Flashpoint Gold Upgrade, and Operation Flashpoint Resistance. Â These instructions are from Codemasters and tell you how to bring all three programs up to the latest updates. 1. Install Operation Flashpoint Cold War Crisis 2. Install Operation Flashpoint Gold Upgrade 3. Run Patch 1.46 (OFP_Upgrade_4v146) 4. Install Operation Flashpoint Resistance 5. Run Resistance patch (1.91) (OFPRes_upgrade_1_91) 6. Run Red Hammer 1.90/1.91 Compatibility patch (OFP_RedHammerUpdate191) 7. Run Campaign 1985 update (1.90/ 1.91 ) (OFP_Campaign1985Update) These steps will bring you totally up-to-date on all three programs. Â Hope this helps. Â Dadster Additional Note: If you did the 1.90 Resistance patch, Red Hammer update, and Campaign 1985 update at the time they originally came out, you need only run the Resistance 1.91 update. Â You do not run the Red Hammer or Campaign 1985 updates again.

Maybe I'm missing something here but if you disable your sound device in Device Manager don't you lose sound? Â But as for the Soundblaster Live I had to ditch mine to play certain OFP missions. Â I would get to a point where the sound would either turn to slow motion or cut off entirely depending on which drivers I was using. Â I tried both the generic XP drivers (slow down) and the latest Soundblaster Live drivers (no sound) and nothing would work. Â Eventually I bought a new Hercules sound card and have had no problems with any programs since. Â Dadster

To give a copy to a friend? To give a copy to your girlfriend? To keep the copy and sell the original on eBay? I could list a lot more, but just the fact that you can't figure this out seems to question your motives. Dadster
