CTI has had a big impact on the downfall of OFP- what a junk mission. Seems almost every server is playing this crap that takes 2-4 hours to complete- but with no join in progress for OFP- ends up it is twice as hard to get a game going now then before. Think Ill float over to ghost recon, at least u can play more than 1 game an hour.

i would disagree- CTI has sucked alot life out of the game and is a leading cause in fewer online games being able to be played- I dont have the time to sit around and play a 3 hour mission, and without join in progress, i dont have the time to wait another 2-3 hours for some servers to finish playing it. That is the reason it sucks- not the actual mission itself. Its just tooooooo long (ever actualy play where half the gamers are still connected after an hour- prob not) and has a tendency to lag alot. Dont get me wrong- im no fan of all those "drop a hundred houses into 300m" cqb ctf maps either- the maps i played the most and always had a tona flks playing were the regular capture and hold maps like on SHOP. Even the bigger ctf maps are still fun(like ctf hunt, etc) Just seems cant get any games going so im sure many like me are finding something better.

Didnt see the other topic about this, but just checked and ingame browser shows 16 servers up and 7 are playing cti with anywhere from 4 to 12 palyers. As usual now- there are no open servers with more than 2 players waiting. What a shame such a fun game has gotten this bad.

He is talking about getting the voted admin off of the server- would be nice to have a way i think. Sometimes when these kids get admin voted, they go all crazy and just start kicking everyone to ruin game or make up for the small size of their privates I guess?. Would be nice to be able to get rid of em if they get out of hand to allow server to continue to play.

Well, here are 2 new ones ive come across lately. 1) Guy jumps in chopper pilot right away- the whole team piles in back and he takes off - only to crash right away killing entire team then disconects. 2) Same as above but the pilot takes chopper way into middle on nowhere or over water - puts on auto-hover then disconnects. Another thing i have seen a few times lately is server admins who have a full house and move guys with pings in the 150-170 range out of slots to make room for guys who joined server much later with pings in the 70-100 range- Realy sad what some of these goobers do sometimes.

Well, as I said earlier for me- is only when playing through my FW that it has these probs- never had an issue for last 1-1 1/2 years with any other vs till 1.90 patch. Now- if I turn FW off- i have no probs at all. I have cable and it doesnt lose the connection at all- is the game thinking it has lost connection through FW for weird reason. I thought I was the only 1 but seems not- BIS changed something in that patch that doesnt seem to agree with FW's for whatever reason.

That usualy means you have misnamed the respawn area marker.

Well, I had that same thing happen to me. Drove me nuts till I figured out what it was. (at least in my case) Seems the patches realy changed things around for the game exe as far as firewalls are concerned. At first- i couldnt connect mp at all- turns out the exe had changed and my FW wasnt recognizing it anymore- easy enough/add it to permissions. Then almost 4 of 5 games i would get connection lost just like u guys. I discovered it was my FW again. I could play through it(fw)- but after a amount of time-was like connection fell asleep. Reason I say that is if i got no message received for xxx redbox- I could alt tab out, hit IE and open a webpage, then go back into the game and %100 of the time was back into playing. So now when I play- I turn off Fire Wall and have had not 1 single time of red box of doom again. If you are playing through a FW-this might be something you want to check out- if not, try the alt-tab and open web browser thing and maybe it works for u also? Hope this maybe helped someone-PEACE!

Never had a connection problem with this game till I patched from 1.85. Now 2 of 5 games result in connection lost.

Tried patching to 1.90 and 1.91- both result in the same thing. SP plays fine and has no problems- but as soon as i hit MP- it just freezes pc up and I have to reboot to get going again. Been playing for over a year-both OFP and Res. and never had any probs till I upgraded with these patches- Did an uninstall and went back to 1.85 and everything works fine again- tried 1.9 and 1.91= same lock up prob. Any ideas? Win XP is OS

You guys are the greatest! That was it- I turned off my FW and *bam*= good to go. Guess 1.9 changed something there cause I been playin with this FW for over a year. Thanks

Well, have never had any probs with OFP or Resistance till now. I installed 1.91 patch and can no longer play MP games. SP works fine, but once I hit MP it just locks up pc and I hahve to hard crash it to recover- I uninstalled and reinstalled to 1.85 and no probs- try 1.90 patch and get same thing??? Win XP is OS

Why not use 1 of the sound mods out there that are just reworked sound.pbo's ? They work great,dont display any modified anything messages and some are very good and have been out for a long time. I have been using 1 that was released in like Jan or Feb of this year and have never had any complaints.

Yes-that is the way I did it also. Sniped the crew from a bush just on other side of road from farmhouse-then got to T72 and got in as gunner and laid waste to everything in about 30 sec's after that = game over.

For the first year or so-I came across few if any cheats. But last 6 months-I see more and more cheats. Also see more and more crap like intentional TK and seem to be getting the "Remember original games do not fade" message on almost a daily basis when others connect on some of the servers. Tons a "so and so uses modified config file" also(all will claim a sound mod, but who knows?)This to me is an indicator that a different crowd of people are becoming part of the community. This is more and more reason why I think many are moving toward direct h2h games instead of dedicated servers(dropping #'s could also be that game is not as new as it used to be?) Oh well,such is life huh? I am sure of 1 thing though-there is no way to stop all cheating-it will always be with us as long as weak minded and skilled individuals play online games. Â

Well, im not against 56kers. But some are not very considerate I must add. If you have a 56k modem-and you connect to a server and can see your ping is 1000+, why not just do the right thing and disconect and go find another? Many-many times I see guys with pings of 1000,2000 even 2500 sitting there and have to get booted even after being asked to kindly disconect. Why not think of how your gonna lag the game for everyone else and try and find servers closer to you with a better ping? I see nothing wrong with kicking guys with too high ping to make better gameplay for all

Since I have installed OFP Res. sometimes when I try to start the game-there is no text on the screen-just empty green boxes. (like at the bottom of the mp screen where it says sockets-internet and all that stuff- or at the mission selection screen there will be no islands or missions visible) I have to totaly exit and restart OFP Res like 3-5 times sometimes to get the text to show so I can select anything. Another problem I have since Res. is running up the stairs in 2 story houses-alot of times I can only get up 1-2 stairs and then cant go any farther? None of this happened before I installed Res. OFP has played great for the last year+ and only since Res. have I had any probs.

There are a few at this sight -most of em i have tried have tanks and choppers in em. OFP missions They are all CTF or Team CTF missons-You talking SP or MP missions?

You must use a program called Desqm to decrypt the mission.sqm file I think? Not exactly sure-seem to remember reading something about it a while ago somewhere???

No-I have no other controller conected- -I have both OFP to 1.46 and Resistance installed. That instance has only happened once so far-but I have also experienced the sudden"in mouse view" thing (even though I didnt go onto mouse view)a few times like right at game start or sometimes I have seen guys go prone behind cover and then get stuck to where they cant do anything and have to have someone come over and kill them so they can respawn and keep fighting.???
