    EECP - Enhanced ECP

yeah i spent a few hours scrounging through every addon site i could find but the t80 pak and the 5 ton are impossible to find. We desperately need OFPEC back up and running, that site had virtually everything on it.....

    EECP - Enhanced ECP

All of the download links on OFP CZ seem to be dead. I managed to track down all addons except Sigmas t-80 pak, and the M-925 5t truck. Could someone please upload these somewhere? thanks.

    Llauma's sky?

What resolution/bit depth do the sky images have to be in for them to display properly? I have a digital camera and a Australian summer sky outside if you need any images.
  5. Hey guys, Well, the last time i touched OFP was around a year ago, after i got Resistance, played half way through it and then had to reformat therefore losing my progress. So here i am a year later with all of these mods having been released. I'm new to all of this OFP mod implementation so bare with me while i potentially make a fool out of myself. I dont play multiplayer, and i dont create my own missions or do scripting, so i'm wondering if there are any Universal type mods available where once they are installed, no matter what mission i play those mods are implemented. One example is if i download say, a special effect explosion addon. Will those new explosions show up in every single mission i play? or do i need to go and edit the mission manually in order for those explosions to appear. I really hate having to mess around with different missions in order to make the game look pretty. I just like downloading mods, dropping them in the appropriate folders and having those mods appear throughtout the entire game, just like what happens with the majority of mods for games. So could someone please explain to me if mod's like these exist, and if so, where i could download them? thanks.
  6. Hey guys, thanks for the replies. I also remember something about having too many mods causes the game to show up with errors, is this still true? or has it been fixed by BIS? This FDF mod looks incredibly sweet, i'll have to download it tonight and give it a go. Thanks again

  10. Also what is the latest version of the ECP mod? I just found a link to version 1.057 at: http://www.edgefiles.com/downloa....057.rar

  12. What is ECP exactly? Like what does it incorperate? Also the only mod i ever originally used was Satchels Sound Addon, which i found to be incredibly well done. Does this sound addon still exist? I dont use MSN sorry Is there a server where you could temporarily upload it to? Thanks.

  14. Regarding a previous topic: http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=18004 I was curious as to how the progression of the Res converted sound pack is coming along. I used Satchels sounds way back in the first initial patches of OFP, then went off OFP due to my hardware being out of date. But from what i remember Satchels sounds were a MUST HAVE when playing the single missions of the game, adding greater atmosphere and actually enticing me to continue playing the game on my (what was) low-end system. So here i am months and months down the track. I have a fully upgraded PC and a nice new copy of Resistance which i picked up for half price. Playing the game with the default sounds is a little difficult to swallow after once playing with the almighty sound addon installed. And from what i have heard the sound pack has now evolved remarkably into much more than just a few replacement sounds, what is this i hear of NEWLY added sounds for each individual action??? (drooooools) So anyway, how is this Resistance conversion coming along? i am REALLY eager to grab the proper/final version of the converted sound pack, and when i say eager, i mean eager enough to visit this forum multiple upon multiple times a day for the past week just to download it. Cheers.

    The watch

Gameer, i suggest you save up those penny's and invest in a new motherboard. Just take your computer to a good computer store and have them install it for you, leave all the worry to them. Just make sure you invest in a motherboard which doesn't have an onboard graphics chip, and if possible no onboard audio either (system resource hungry) although you will have to buy a sound card as a replacement (Sound Blaster Live 5.1 are going for very cheap now and are also an excellent and trustworthy card.) Anyway good luck with OpFlash, i just upgraded my PC a few days ago (New GeForce 4 Ti 4200 and a 2ghz P4) and it is like i'm playing an entirely different game. Good Stuff! Cheers.

    Resistance is futile

The answer is simple. Wait until it's released, weigh up the good's and the bad's and make a decision from there. Atleast wait until it's released before you go praising/slagging the product. Reviews, comparisons, personal opinions, spam, praises, you name it will all be around a few days after Resistance is released, make your decision when you have something to refer to. For the time being there is no point in complaining about a product that hasn't even been released. That is my plan of attack anyway, sure i'd like vastly improved graphics code, major bug tweaks and a few new extra's but will all this really give me a bang for my buck? or will it just introduce an un-noticeable graphics update with a few little bits and pieces thrown in? i guess i'll find out in a weeks time.

    Sorry guys...

Yeah they can control who does, and doesn't have the right to use the tools..... until such time as the tools become available on warez sites, then everyone can use them.

    Gforce 2 Fix!

Ok people, the answer to your problems are as follows: I e-mailed NVidia a few months back asking about the exact same GeForce 2 MX, 32 compared to 16 bit performance issues you are discussing. They said that some of the GeForce 2 MX family of cards have a lower Memory Interface than others, which is the reason why some people are reporting that their cards run 16 and 32 bit colour with no framerate loss, whilst others have really poor 32 bit performance. One example is this, Many different brand GeForce 2 MX 200's have a 64-bit memory interface, whilst the GeForce 2 MX 400 has a 128-bit interface. I have actually compared these two cards in performance tests (using the Palit Daytona brand name cards) and the 400 version runs 32-bit colour at exactly the same speed as when it was running in 16-bit colour mode. The 200 version on the other hand ran 32-bit colour at a crawl, especially when i was testing it out on Return To Castle Wolfenstein and Op Flash. However, at 16-bit colour it ran like a dream but in many games the 16-bit colour mode caused ALOT of graphic glitches and in Op Flash especially. This isn't just restricted to the 200 and 400 versions of the GeForce 2 MX cards. Because i have tested Op Flash on an old Hercules 3d Prophet GeForce 2 MX (yep, the very first version) and in 32-bit colour mode it ran exactly the same as 16-bit colour mode. The whole problem comes down to what sized Memory Interface the manufacturer decides to add to it's GeForce 2 card. Some brands have a 128-bit Interface on their lowly GeForce 2 MX 100's while other brands decide to put a 32-bit interface on their same version of the card. It seems like when it comes to building the cards there is no industry standard as to what the features should be, especially when it comes to memory. So i hope that exaplins it for you. The people who are complaining about bad 32 bit framerates might have a 64mb GeForce 2 MX 200, but it only has a Memory Interface of 64-bit or lower. While the people who are saying that their cards run at the exact same speed whether it be 32-bit colour or 16-bit colour, might have a 64mb GeForce 2 MX 200, but with a 128-bit Memory Interface. Like i said, the whole issue comes down to what sized Memory Interface the manufacturer has decided to put on the card. You might seem to have a great 64mb GeForce 2 MX 400, but it might only have a 64-bit Memory Interface. Keep it in mind when your going to look for another GeForce 2 card. But I also have a feeling that nowadays, anything over a GeForce 2 MX 400 DOES have a 128-bit Memory Interface. I searched alot of different card specs on the net and all of the cards that were newer than the GeForce 2 MX 400 (newer being the GeForce 2 GTS DDR all the way up to the latest GeForce 3 cards) said that they had a 128-bit Interface. Oh, and i tested the cards using the latest, and some of the older Detonator Drivers and I also tweaked the BIOS settings (and used NVMAX) to get the best performance possible. So it DOESN'T have anything to do with what features are enabled or disabled, it is (as NVIDIA itself explained) the Memory Interface. Memory Interface my friends..............Memory Interface indeed.......

How outstanding OFP is compared to MOH?

Assault, actually yes i do get enjoyment from paying people out. Not just on message boards, but in person too. If they are complete idiots who deserve to be put down, than so be it. John C and Chickenman, thank you for pointing out your valid reasons for liking/disliking the game. Mithrandir, i completely hate it when people, without any reason, personally insult people who personally insult people on public boards.......... Hey, i can accept your, uh, opinion......but to call a game "shitware"? You dont agree (or anyone else for that matter) that this is atleast a little immature, and hard to take seriously? Yeah, so both Op Flash and MOH:AA are played through the eyes of a soldier.........all similarities end there. It's like comparing Baldurs Gate to The Sims, just because the camera angle is the same. The gameplay is completely different. Shell Shock, your first 2 remarks were right on target. The original PS game was exactly how you described it, a ww2 SHOOTER with everything else in it as authentic as possible. It's a shame everyone is treating the game like it is TRYING to be something new, which it isn't. It is still based off of the same gameplay structure as the original. It worked back then, so why not give it another run for it's money. It's like that game Serious Sam (which is a hell of alot of fun), it's based off of the good ol' Doom days when running around, picking up loads of ammo, health and powerups, and shooting everything that moved was the main idea. A little off topic but: Did you know that Doom 1 + 2 are still as popular now as they were back then? They have been modded and hacked into and now support 3d video cards, have loads of mods and addons made for them and thousands of new levels.

    Mouse moves slow

Panzer Jaeger, you wouldn't by chance be using a GeForce 2 MX 200 would you? this version of the GeForce 2 has alot less memory bandwidth than the newer versions (MX 400, Ultra) and runs like a snail in 32 bit colour mode.

How outstanding OFP is compared to MOH?

*sigh* Ok children, let me explain..... MOH:AA is a 3d first-person SHOOT-EM-UP game. It isn't a simulation, and doesn't attempt to be a realistic simulation of ww2 combat. The developers of the game have pointed this out many times that the game ISN'T A SIMULATION! You start out the mission with a stock of weapons with lots of ammo, and finish the mission with lots of ammo and health and a load of dead nazi's behind you. Simple as that, it doesn't try to be a simulation, and you would realise that if you payed closer attention to the game mechanics. Operation Flashpoint IS a simulation. It attempts to simulate realistic ground based warfare and also to some extent aerial warfare. It simulates weapons to a realistic degree, and also the mechanics of squad tactics. Personally i love MOH:AA. It's the best action/first-person shooter i have ever played. Whenever i get sick of the realism of Operation Flashpoint, i love ripping right into MOH and just having some good old fashion blast everything fun. There are many scripting sections of MOH, but if you actually took the time to study the game closer, you would realise that on the other hand, there are alot of amazing things that AREN'T scripted. One example is the way that teammates and enemies hide behind corners and lean out to take a shot, and no, this isn't scripted, because i have seen it happen at random intervals right throughout the game. And i have completed the game twice already. Also, if you have ever taken a deeper look at some of the most complex user made missions for Op Flash, you would realise that THEY ARE SCRIPTED. There are already loads of scripts that you can download off of the net for use in your own missions. Op Flash also includes triggers, another area where most action based shooters are degraded for. Mithrandir, you have just proven your complete lack of intelligence when it comes to computer software. Calling MOH "shitware" isn't exactly an intelligent remark. And even being able to compare MOH to Op Flash shows a lack of intelligence in itself. Daniel Barnett: "hear hear!" I think you meant to say "HERE, HERE!" Shadow: "Broke and threw away the cds yesterday." No you didn't...... Damage Inc: "I agree that MOH sucks." Another person with the IQ of a boiled potato... Anyway, each to his own i guess. But i'm really getting sick and tired of people just completely writing off a game without even giving valid reasons for disliking it to begin with. In my whole life of playing games (since the Commodore 64 days) I have never said that I have disliked a game to the point where it "sucks" or it deserves to be thrown in the trash. I mean, for gods sake, it's just a bloody computer game. Push it away and accept the fact that it isn't to your liking. But dont degrade it and say that everyone should dislike it and no one should buy it. My 22 year old sister likes to play The Sims. Personally i dont see the appeal of it, but i dont go telling her that it's "shitware" now do i! Yeah, so ok, i dont like the game, but my sister does, so that proves that there is atleast something in it that is appealing to people of selective tastes. Just think about what your saying (and playing) next time before you go and open your mouth.

Avon's Original OFP Demo Nostalgia Mission Pack

It's actually pretty strange that the OpFlash demo had better user made missions for it than what the full release has. I guess it comes down to the fact that with the demo, only people with the knowledge of how to delve into the game could create missions, so they were of a higher quality. But now that anyone under the sun can create a mission, we see alot more crap being produced than ever before. I apologise to the majority of budding mission makers out there (there are a selected few who can create fantastic missions) but there really is alot of poor quality.

Avon's Original OFP Demo Nostalgia Mission Pack

Avon, does the mission pack include the absolutely fabulous mission titled "Fishermans Bend" This was (and still is) my favorite mission for OpFlash. It is still the only mission that actually gives a sense of a full scale assault. Ohhhhhh the memories! My most memorable moment with this mission was sending my squad over the first hill and fighting off hordes of Ruskies. I ended up capturing the main battleground to the left of the church. But then i was assaulted by more Ruskies coming up the valley to take back fishermans bend. So i sprinted over to the sandbagged machine gun (sorry cant remember the name of the static machine gun....M2 maybe?) spun myself around and mowed down everything and anything that was running towards me, as i sent them falling i could see the remainders sprinting to the church to take cover. My teammates were dying all around me and i ended up wounded (and crawling) with a bullet to the leg. I crawled my way across the battlefield and hid in some bushes. I thought i had lost the battle but at that moment 2 M1A1's came flying over the hill and took out the rest of the enemies (and the church). I ended up taking hold of fishermans bend that day my friends!!! And playing the best damn mission ever made for Op Flash!!!

Which age-old bug should be fixed ??

Before anything else, i think they should fix the Safedisk copy protection problems that alot of people (not myself) seem to be having trouble with when using the patches. This seems to be the most critical bug (it is game destroying after all) and i think they really need to work with Codemasters in trying to find a solution to it. Like it's been pointed out before, if someone has bought the game, and has the system to run it then they should be able to patch the game without any problems at all. They have payed their money for the game so they atleast have a right to be able to use it properly.
