    Frontlines

Yes, it's Kaos Studios who are developing Frontline: Fuel of War. They're made up of the core team from Trauma Studios, who made Desert Combat. They started working for DICE, and contributed some to BF2...but as far as I remember, EA more or less terminated them when they bought up DICE.

Do the Bis Team hate Russia?

Couldn't agree more! Great book (one of Clancy's best...God knows how many times I've read it...), and it could make a great game. Another book that could make a great game, is "The Bear and the Dragon" (also written by Clancy). For those of you who hasn't read it...Americans and Russians fighting side by side against a Chinese invasion of Russia (a lot more complex, but it's the essence).

Have bought ArmA and QG, some help needed

My new PC will be running dualboot with 32bit XP Pro and 64bit Vista Ultimate. So I'll be running ArmA in XP of course. Could you please explain some more what you mean with your comments on removing hardware to play ArmA? Do you mean just in Vista or also in XP? My new comp is basically this; -Intel C2D E6850 -4 gigs PC6400 memory (4x1GB sticks) -Asus P5K Premium mobo -Gainward GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB -WD Raptor 150GB and WD Caviar 500GB hdd's -Creative SB X-Fi ExtremeGamer soundcard Will it be any trouble running ArmA on XP with this hardware?

Have bought ArmA and QG, some help needed

Ok, thanks for the answers so far Of course I will play the original campaign, it was kind of a stupid question... After I had finished all the 3 campaigns in OFP, I had loads of fun just messing around in the editor. Trying out all kinds of new addons and maps...either setting up engangements or just going for a stroll (or driving around) - that's one of the beauties of OFP. Is this preserved in ArmA? Are there many addons and maps for ArmA yet? So, public servers is not the way to go? How big is the mp community in ArmA? I live in norway, and I've heard of one norwegian server that's good - www.nopryl.com - anyone here played on it?
  6. Since I'm getting my new computer in a weeks time, I went ahead and bought both ArmA and Queens Gambit. So I have some various questions; 1. As I've understood, patch 1.08 is included in QG. Do I need some of the other patches, or does installing QG after I install ArmA take the game straight to v1.08? 2. Should I bother with the singleplayer campaign in ArmA? Heard alot of bad things about it. Am I missing out on something in the campaigns in QG if I don't play the original ArmA campaign? Hmmm, this sounds like a stupid question...guess I'll play them all of course 3. How is the multiplayer scene in ArmA? Heard there's alot of different cheating etc? Recommendations for a newbie to mp in ArmA? Servers, what I should expect, etc. I played OFP alot before, but never once played it in mp or online. So now I'm looking forward to getting into a BIS game again

    1970 vs 2010

YEAH!!!! It can be like BF2142!!! HOW AWESOME WOULD THAT BE??? I hope to God that you're being sarcastic as hell... For me personally, anything from WWII to present day is ok... but no sci-fi crap! (I do love sci-fi movies, but not games...)

    Hardware and settings for ArmA

Hey everyone. First post for me here (I played OFP since it was released in europe untill 2005). Haven't bought ArmA yet, because my old comp is shit. But I'm getting a new one, should have it in 2-4 weeks So, of course, I have ordered ArmA. Anyways, these are the components I'm considering; -Cooler Master Centurion 534 case -Seasonic M12 600W PSU -Asus P5K Deluxe, P35 motherboard -Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3.0GHz 1333Mhz -Corsair TWIN2X 6400 DDR2 - 4GB (4x1024) -Western Digital Caviar SE16 500GB SATA2 16MB 7200RPM -XFX GeForce 8800GTS 500M 640MB graphics card -Samsung 22" LCD Syncmaster 226BW I should (hopefully) be able to run ArmA decently on this system? I was thinking of getting an 8800GTX or Ultra with 768MB, but it is just overpriced I think - a 8800GTS with 640MB should be fine for ArmA? I'm also considering different mouses - Logitech G5, MX518, Microsoft Habu, Razor Diamondback or Copperhead. Any thoughts on which one of those that works good with ArmA? Keyboard; either Logitech G11 or the new G15 gaming keyboard - anyone have one of those? What's your opinion? The 22" LCD, how is it playing ArmA on such a screen? I only have a regular 19" CRT at present. Does it utilize the full width (16:10 aspect ratio)? Any problem with ghosting, etc. on an LCD? Last question is regarding OS. I'm planning on buying Vista Ultimate as the OS for my new rig... or should I continue with XP Pro? Have heard different stories about games not running all that well on Vista. Thanks in advance for any thoughts, tips or help on this
