    What Is Fillrate Optimiser

Running Rivatuners harware monitor when running the game I see a max VRAM use of around 530mb when the Video Memory is set to 'very high'. 'Low' limits it to around 300mb and 'default' gives around 360mb. I can't say i see or feel any difference at any setting. This is with a 1GB 9800GT GPU with textures on Normal, and I guess increasing textures would show more memory being used.
  2. Mine freezes (hard locks) quite regularly, forcing a reset. It seems to be GPU temp related with me, as my CPU runs quite cool, but like others, no other game (Crysis, UT3 etc) seems to cause this much heat and this issue. I have cleaned my graphics card so its free of dust, and now I'm running with the side of the case off, which has reduced the amount of times it happens, but its far from perfect. I've tried using Rivatuner to run the fan at a constant 100% cycle, but that is not enough. Running on auto the fan is constantly spinning up and down. My 9800GT 1GB (not overclocked) has a huge dual slot HSF, and normally runs really nice and cool, but not with this game. Does the graphics in this game really push harder than others?…maybe so, even if it doesn’t look like it should be.

    New 8800/ForceWare Drivers (BETA)

i tried it... are the worse driver that they ever made for arma.. every couple of seconds lod and lag... No such problem here, but also, no change from 158.19s. You will need to mod the inf for them to work on cards other than the 8 series.

1GB Ram to 2GB Ram - Boost in Performance?

Don't expect to see a frame rate jump, but do expect to see less stuttering. So you probably won't be able to increase detail above what you have it set too.

    tweak for 2gb users

Oh dear some people really need a bit of help. There is no perfomance gain to be had by turing off the PF.

    How to Increase AGP Aperture?

Fitzee You are wrong, you do not lose 256mb of system RAM by setting you aperture to 256 or any other setting. It is used dynamically in 4k pages, so you won't see you RAM gobbled up, unless you have a very high resolution and texture setting (not an issue with a 6600). If you have in your BIOS try 256, you may gain a frame or two - though 128 is usually more than enough.
  7. As the title http://www.guru3d.com/newsitem.php?id=5155 Been using them for a while and seem just fine, no extra perfomance for me, but give em a try.

    Nvidia 100.95 for XP 32bit/64bit

Yeah right. We'll see... ... This isn't win98 we're talking about anymore. A hell lot of years have passed and industry in every country are now after the same thing. More money with less work. How else can you explain that no drivers aren't released after november. Usually driver updates come every month. The explanation is simple, they're having a hard time getting their drivers to work well under Vista. Â More effort has gone into providing a working set for that OS. The fact that two 100 series drivers have come out from third parties, prove nvidia are still writing drivers for XP. XP will have a larger user base than Vista for a long time and drivers will be released to cover new products and resolve issues. If you think differantly, you have a very limited grasp of business practice.

    Nvidia 100.95 for XP 32bit/64bit

What are you lot on about? of course nvidia will release new XP drivers. They supported Win98 for years after XP...it's hardly in their interest to piss off the customer base is it? Anyway these seem like good drivers, with small increases in shader perfomance. They seem generally fast and stable, but remember to add the modded inf and do a manual install. If you overclock ATI tool is great.

    Waiting for a miracle...

I totally love this game and it runs very well with normal setting, it doesn't even looks that much better with higher setting. So why do I find myself constantly fiddling around trying to get a few more frames, or pushing up the detail. It was/is the same with FSX. I sometimes find myself spending more time reading and fiddling than playing. It's a madness, but for some reason I love it and it's why I'm a PC gamer rather than a console gamer.

I find a tweak that help my Arma performance.

I've tried this tweak on a few demanding games, over the years, in the hope of eeking-out a few more frames. Â BUT sadly I never seen an increase in fps. Maybe if you have a lot of services/background app's running it might help a bit. Worth a try, but don't hold your breath..and use madmatts advice to try it.

1.05. Be happy you have it.

I have had the game since Mon [505 uk boxed version]and applied 1.05 before playing and all I can say is, it's great. Â I'm working through the campaign (upto sanatizing mission), and have played several of the standalone missions and a little MP. I can honestly say I've not had one problem yet, everything has been very smooth, including the performance. Now I don't know what it was like without the patch, but I feel pretty sure it can't have been better. Obviously some people are having issues, which I'm sure BI will fix, but so far I've been lucky. I'm running the game with X2 3800 oc'ed to2.5ghz 2GB PC3200 7600Gt With everything on normal cept post-processing on low at 1024x768 - and it still looks great. Â FPS generally 35+ but drops to 20 at times in forrests in the grass, which for what it's doing seems ok to me. Very happy. Â Oh and this is my first post here, so hello everyone
