...I would like to say I have the 'silver bullet' solution, unfortunately not many people will try this option. I have not been able to run this game since buying it the day it came out in the UK. On monday I finally got it to work after, many emails to 505 and lots of rebooting reinstalling etc etc. My solution...I spent some money (quite a bit) and bought a mobo combo. See my old specs of : AMD Athlon 2.4 XP XP Pro 1 Gig RAM DDR extreme gamer XFi 7600GT didnt seem to cut it despite meeting the requirements and the guys at 505 wondering what the hell was going on. My new combo of: AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual 4.2Gig ASUS mobo 7600GT 2 Gigs DDR2 extreme gamer XFi runs Arma no problem, see not the quick fix you may have thought of (hoped). But it shows if all else fails it may just be your system that needs changing. I decided to change mine because it was a few years old anyway and not because of this game...but it certainly made the difference!

If not give it a try: support@bistudio.com yes i have mate (505 games that is) sorry for the confusion, but i think it shows in some instances ie mine both 505 and securom hav'nt a clue whats going on

My problem.. I double click the icon, the dvd spools up the icon goes to the spinning disk...then the windows has experienced message come up. Your customer number is  ************ This definitely sounds like a SecuROM issue, as you are experiencing the error before the game engine begins to initialise. Could you try installing this update - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/924867/ but alas my game has never worked in all the weeks ive owned it!

I am still not able to run ArmA, the tech guys at 505 think im not getting all the dll's from the latest direct x updates. They gave me a list of ones dated 2007, which when i do dxdiag are not there. Now ive tried updating from the dvd and windows yet these files still fail to appear/update...any ideas??

Am I missing something because i did a search and cant find that dll on my system...or that folder for that matter?? I have same no start issue btw

Ill answer my own post here, yes it 'should' I ran the system testing website that was mentioned earlier and it came out as ok. However it doesnt run full stop. (thats on a clean installed system too!

Should my system be able to run ArmA ok>?

ArmA has encountered...well he goes for me its never worked. My specs in my sig, my mobo is an ECS K7S5A. I did have an issue with the securom thing, turns out it doesnt like windows defender, so ive uninstalled that and now im back to the same old windows has encountered a problem... Oh and over the weekend I performed a clean XP install so theres not much on my sys yet it still fails to work...mind you battlestations midway does the exact same thing!

I have the same problem in that the game has never run despite my specs being good enough and taking the bold step of doing a clean reinstall of XP. I have the UK 505 DVD version mind you.

follow their uninstall instructions plus clear out anything it may have left in your registry / startup etc. That might help.

Yawn do me a favour Ive probably been gaming as long as you. Help is whats required not some elitist comments. Fact is they've released a game which if it were a car - would have the steering wheel missing.

I hear you, although prices are relative to the country, the UK is very expensive for everything. Interestingly though the developers are from the Czech Republic...anyway thats going way off topic! fact is mine wont run its a UK version and I would like so ideas / help thanks

I agree, whats going on when people have to mess around for ages just to get a game working, yes I know we pc owners are used to it, but you wont find that from 360 or PS3 owners. If anyone has read the UK PCGamer review they gave it 70%, now I read this and still bought the game being a flashpoint fan. I have some faith in the fact BI will sort this mess out, however flashpoint was never this much of a problem. Please fix it soonest!
