Recommendations on two player co-op missions?
casum replied to datter's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
same here. most coop missions seem to have no AI and you need a lot fo players to finish it. -
Been getting crashes with this latest patch, when I never had one crash before. Crashes to desktop with appcrash message. arma.exe isn't running in taskmanager, but when I try to start arma up again it takes a long time before responding with (paraphrased) "use the original CD and not a backup of it". I'm of course using the original. A second attempt will say something along the lines of "CD verification timed out"

ArmA2 1.03 Impressions - ALL Impressions/Videos/Screenies Here
casum replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Thanks guys. On x64 my mem detection is just like your's seany. Perhaps arma 2 cannot use over 2gb since it's listed as 32bit in the task manager (im a noob, but I think 32bit apps can't use over 2gb?) -
ArmA2 1.03 Impressions - ALL Impressions/Videos/Screenies Here

Do you need to reinstall the game and then apply this updated patch? I just tried to update over 1.02 and it said that it was already installed. -
Ah, what happens with the trunk? When we got there with the guys, there was just a hatchback waiting and a driver and we were told to get inside - nobody mentioned anything about the trunk. (sorry if my previous post was a bit sensationalist, but we were just sick at that point of all the bugs from the previous missions and then we arrive at this car and not everyone could seemingly get in - literally not finished one mission bug free so far..)

Have you yet to try disabling onboard sound as asked previously? Also, some screens of your audio settings as requested would help narrow down a lot of things.

When is Arma 2 going to be fixed for vista?
casum replied to Sinhouse's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Viper, put it after the last " mark. ie: \ArmA 2\arma2.exe" -HERE -
1.02 , 3D sound is still Borked :-(
casum replied to shadowze's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I wouldn't recommend doing this. With CMSS enabled all you're doing is taking the only playing channels (left/right) and mixing them into 5.1 It's not the same thing at all. You still aren't getting the proper sound, it's more of a placebo effect because you can hear something from every speaker. -
try disabling the onboard and restart so that the only working audio card is the XFI, see how it goes then. (if you haven't already done so).

Who seriously bug tested this mission? When you get to the car with your CDF friends you're suppose to get in and the CDF guy will drive you .......... but the car can only hold 3 team members!!! I had to force myself into the driver seat and take off with the entire team on board. And even then, when we reached scripted areas, the CDF driver kept talking like he was still driving and inside the car with us.

ArmA 2 Buglist - Content related bugs only
casum replied to Red_153D's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
On coop campaign missions we've been experiencing the following message in the hint part of the screen (top right): null task array -
For some reason, your speakers are only receiving the left and right channels. How you're getting "5.1 in other games" is beyond me. Just go over all the creative bloat and turn everything off: graphic equaliser, CMSS, and so on. Then try again. I believe there may be a setting that controls what is sent over a few of the outputs on the card, see if you can find that and experiment. It'd be easier if you could print-screen some images of your options setup and maybe one of us will spot something.

Video memory, very high or default?
casum replied to LOulOo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
What setting should I use with a 1GB ATI card? Also, is this memory detection in my arma cfg correct? localVRAM=1067937792; nonlocalVRAM=1877475328; from what I can tell VRAM is showing 1GB, which would be correct. However, non vram is showing as 1.8GB (?) - is this system memory? If so I have 4GB installed, not 2GB. This is on vista x64 -
What exactly is the model of your sound card? What are the connections? Analogue? I use a creative xfi titanium PCI-E and 5.1 surround works just fine. Even more so in the new patch when they tweaked the subwoofer sounds.

I haven't read through everything, so if this has been mentioned before, excuse. I always play as a cop, and what I would see beneficial to the civs is if you could add some sort of notepad or page where the cops can write the rules they're currently enforcing. That way civs can check it and follow them (if they are law abiding). As a cop all I see most of the time is "I DIDN'T KNOW!! WAAA!!!" from civ's who don't bother reading global chat etc.
