    Still works great on my server Then again, it's far from the most populated one. I had to ban mods because some mods (6th sense is one of the suspected) obviously crashes my server when players having it joins. I think that is the reason why my server usualy has less than 15 players on it, probably not getting the attention of the cheaters.

    To give stobbsy some support: Sometimes I just want to get into the game, do missions on my own until I can fly a blackhawk and then I´ll be transporting people... I'm a lone wolf but still supporting everyone...

    Standalone server config problem

    This is how my "target" line looks in my shortcut: ....\ArmA\ArmA_Server.exe -config=dedicated.cfg You do not need to specify anything else. In the ArmA folder I then have my dedicated.cfg file with info like the others have shown in it.

    For the future I would love an option to turn off Cobras, Harriers and A-10s. On several occations I have found it really boring, taking the last cities when you have skilled Cobra pilots/gunners just taking everything out.

    control problem

    Happened to me twice yesterday when playing Evolution. Game was a little laggy, entered a vehicle but did not get in, the helicopter flew away, I stayed on the ground in "look-mode". Had to reconnect :-/

    AK-47/74s and their reputation....

    I was boored so... Now I must admit to not reading the whole six pages but it amuses me that I didn't se anyone bringing up what in my view has the biggest effect on practical accuracy between the AK47 and the M-16: Take a look at the distance between the back and front sights... the AK47 are almost as close together as a large pistol. For those not in the know, the distance between the sights determens how accuretly you must position the front sight in the back sights to hit what youre aiming for. Trust me when I tell you that this has a much bigger practical effect than the difference in mechanical accuracy between the rifles.
  11. I would love to test the beta-patches... but the f_ucking sprocket noncense makes it to much of a hassle. Think whatever you wan't about it, the Sprocket crap will make me, always have a little hatred in my mind

    Aaah, reality... My personal view is that what has really made this mission a success is that "noobs" cannot join a server and within five minutes taking and destroying all vehicles. Most 14 year old CS players don't have the stamina to stay on the server long enough to get any rank, therefore it works great. Those that do, usually learn to apreciate their virtual life enough so that they in the process become 14 year old valuable Arma players instead

    Yes, with the current lack of accurate ballistict, one can take silly long shots on a stationnary target with almost 100% accuracy :-/

    Yesterday was an amazing day but with a bitter ending. My server was running 1.5a for about 5 hours, only Eponia, Masbete and Pita was left to take..... great game! But then my client-PC CTD and the server about 1 second later. I'll find the relevant files/info and will post them tonight.

    What really pisses me off in this discussion is people trying to tell others what to think, what their goal should be. As an example, my goal with the chopper FM in Arma is for it to be the most realistick helicopter FM in any PC-simulator... If you don't agree, fine! If you claim that I'm representing a very small minority of Arma players, fine! But don't tell me that I should not have this desire. I might be alone or I might have as many followers as those who want it to be more like moving a helicopter in something like C&C/Red alert

    One additional very minor thing that we saw yesterday: If the enemy has abandoned a vehicle say a BMP-2 and someone enters and then leave it, If someone else then destroys the empty BMP, they get punished for killing a friendly vehicle. Like said, very minor..... //Control

    1.4e has been running fine for about 11 hours now. Apart from the boat patrol mission, no problems.... apart from that it's difficult to find abandoned birds that are still ok. Could we get a marker for any bird that has not been occupied for 15 minutes or something like that? //Control

    Yesterday 1.4c ran on my server for hours... we were never more than 5 on the server. I can not give you a relevant .rpt file bacause I had the pleasant problem of having no crashes Now on to 1.4e. One question: Does the AI in Evolution take the difficulty settings from the server? (I would like to tune them down just a little bit)

    Too much CHEATS

    It's probably because I only play co-op, but I havent been on one single server were I have noticed anyone cheating... Since I just hate all these annoying checks that sometimes just irritate, sometimes cause seroius problems and sometimes are very intrussive (no mater if its for copy-protections, anti-cheat or whatever), please make any new protections schemes choosable by server admins so I don't have to deal with more crap. (It's enough to have to deal with the crappy softwrap system)
