Hi Guys. Anyone heard of this product yet? http://www.tngames.com/shop....tompmm6 There's a little article in the new "PC Games" magazine about it and the testing person sounds quite satisfied. I wonder, if it needs special support from every game, though, or if it works with every shooter --> ArmA!
-
Sry Shashman, but im not into killing people. Im into having much fun with a game, because it gives me great immersion without doing harm to anybody.
-
Hm....are you kidding? ^^ Sure does ArmA detect, where you got hit. Its quite a difference if you get hit in the head or in the leg... And i'd be happy, if it could be implemented even in the easiest way -> get hit (anywhere) and the Vest reacts. Of course a upper body Vest cant simulate a leg been hit or the head. But you could intensify the Vest reaction. For exmaple, if you get hit in the head, all 8 Vest-sectors react. If you get hit in the legs, only the 2 front bottom sectors react etc.... But thats extra stuff. As i said, it would be awsome, if it works at all, no matter how accurate. PS: They changed the whole package. FPS-Vest + Call of Duty 2 (supported) and another crappy game for 169$. That's like 120 €.

Maybe im the only one here, who is serious about this, but i want to ask again: Is there a chance, that ArmA will support the so called "FPS Vest"? http://www.tngames.com/developers.php http://www.tngames.com/tngames_sdk.pdf If not supported by BIS; would it be possible to integrate such a thing via a mod? Thx in advance for "serious" answers.

Or maybe this could be integrated via a mod!?

OK, i found out, that the game needs to suppport the "3rdSpace" feature, but at least they say, it can be implemented easily. http://www.tngames.com/developers.php I have no clue about developing, coding and stuff, but I hope the guys from BIS will take a look at this. They already implemented the great Track IR support; so it would be just logical to support the FPS Vest, too. BIS, please think about it. *edit* http://www.tngames.com/tngames_sdk.pdf

@ Kerry As soon as its available in Europe and known, that ir works with ArmA, I'll get it, I guess. @ Opteryx Release date for the US and A is October; Europe a little bit later.

Bah, you dont take me serious, shame on you all. I will consider purchasing this "gadget", if it works with ArmA.
-
I guess that was ironic and you dont like the idea of the FPS Vest. Or you are just insane ^^

I'd really like to try this, but i cant find such an option in my BIOS settings. I got an ASRock ALiveNF6G-VSTA motherboard an a XFX 8600GT 256MB. Any ideas, how to change PEG-Buffer there?
-
Did you try some of the tweeks, metioned here in this board? Mouse Lag -> crappy aiming for example. I had this problem too and thought, it would be fps related but then i found out, that theres a huge increase in aiming comfort, after i installed the specific mouse drivers for my logitech mouse. Thats just an example. There are a lot of tips regarding gpu settings in control panel etc. I could play very well even with my 7800 GS, and now with the 8600GT (with only 256mb RAM) its even better, of course. PS: Defragging the arma-hdd can bring alot, too...

I voted for "patch ArmA". It's because ArmA isnt such an old game already, that it would be time for a next one. I wont have any problem with it, if it takes till 2010 to bring out ArmA II. I'd prefer, that the game i bought already gets better and better, so go on with patching ArmA and dont rush with ArmA II.

trin, this was outstanding work! Great movie with huge effort. Only thing i didnt like was the firefight in egypt, where noone hits a thing for minutes, like in A-Team.
-
Although this is kind of off topic: I can recommend the speedlink medusa 5.1 usb headset. I bought it a few days ago and so far im very happy with it. Cost me 54 €. Sound is quite nice. But i have to admit, that i didnt test the mic till now, i'll do that this evening.
-
I played with it around, and it really is a great training tool! Increased my GL skills by 1000% For maximum fun i recommend the javelin in bulletcam-mode.

Im quite sure you dont have a motherboard with PCI-E(xpress) slots, so this 2 Cards you mentioned wont fit. You have to search for a AGP Card like the Nvidia 7600 GT A AGP from Leadtek Balschoiw mentioned.

I'm a little disappointed , i must say. Because one major AI bug bothers me, that have been removed with 1.05 normally: The AI couldnt care less about the high grass you implemented. Im laying direclty in it and those freaking guys get me with one shot in the head from 300 m and more. (of course i can see them only until i'm dead -_-) Thats a shame, 'cause i was quite interested in this campaign, after it got so good reviews.

M8, if you got nades in your gear then just switch to it ("f") and "fire" it with your default fire button (Mouse button 1).
-
so lets all hope for a soon "conversion" ^^ of the patch for the full game product. With the right graphic settings and mouse settings in windows i can also pretty good aim right now, but performance improvement sounds good, of course.
-
i guess its just a balancing issue and the devs know, why they did it that way.

Armed Assault is missing quite a few basics

Dont feed the troll! -
i have mine disabled too, but i keep making messages and see also others in MP!

@ Mora2: Well, sounds like you have trouble with mouse lag. Yesterday i found out, that it can make a REAL difference, which mouse driver you are using. Till now, i always used just the standard windows driver. And i was surprised, how good my roommate can aime at his PC (with less powerfull hardware) compared to me at my computer. So i installed the mouse drivers from logitech for my logitech mouse and the mouse lag has nearly gone, without changing graphic settings. So, give it a try.

Well, i am playing coop missions most of the time with great people (greetings to 6th Sense ) and i dont know any other game that satisfied me in such a cool, atmospheric way. I give a 90+ % for ArmA. (even with the bugs) So, i really think it depends on what you are doing. Chosing randomly a MP server with anonymous people shooting each other in DM isnt much fun for me, neither just playing solo mission with AI. It can be used to train and can be fun too, but its nothing compared to a coop game in veteran mode with a disciplined team with commited team mates.

I got TrackIR4 and after a week of playing ArmA with it i cant imagine how it would be without. Its great. You can aim with your weapon in a direction your leader wants you to cover and have a look to the left and the right without pressing any buttons, just "look"! You can do it with the free look key, too, but thats not 1 % of the fun (and immersion) of playing with trak ir.
