in the nVidia control panel, force alternate frame rendering 2. Both the auto, SFR and AFR 1 settings were giving me shit performance, AFR 2 works flawlessly, however I do seem to get hit with strange flickering (due to HDR/bloom it seems like) sometimes. Still however, much better.

Try switching the SLi rendering mode to AFR 2, Alternate Frame Rendering 2. I do believe this worked for ArmA, or perhaps it was SFR (Split frame rendering). 8800GTX SLi works fine with AFR2 on my end though.. You could also just try renaming the .exe to crysis.exe

ArmA II: SLi Tip (Massive FPS gain)
Cobra8472 replied to Cobra8472's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
DrBobcat; I too am using 185.85. Switching from AFR 1 to AFR 2 gave me about an extra 40 fps when running around on Chernagorsk. I think the Crysis profile included in the nVidia drivers switches the drivers to AFR2, which is why people are getting massive performance increases. I guess I stumbled upon the cause! :) -
If it is possible (I don't know how the GTX295 works, if it's pretty much SLi) but try forcing it to Alternate Frame Rendering 2 in the nvidia control panel.

Just bought ArmA2 through the digital german download. I have a massive problem regarding the graphics of the game, its like its stuck in 640x480 resolution or something when trying to play in 1920x1080. I'm running two 8800GTX in SLi, Q6600, 4GB Ram- Windows 7 x64 RC1 (7100). To demonstrate. Here is a scene at 1920x1080.. this is with 50% fillrate. It looks HORRIBLE. Everything else is pretty much at high. Here is the same scene at 200% fillrate.. 5 fps.... looks good now.......... Here is the same scene at 50% fillrate, but at 1440x900 resolution. Looks just fine now.. There is something majorly borked with the 1920x1080 resolution.. atleast on my end..

The volume of fire they now give off, suppression, voices and general combat atmosphere is much improved. They seemed to cover eachother advancing, they were flanking and just generally felt 100x better.

Just did a test battle, about 40 friendlies and 100 enemies.. The AI is very impressive.

Screen Resolution/Blur issue...

Newer drivers fixed the problem (ish) FPS increased, so I can set the fillrate higher. -
Screen Resolution/Blur issue...
Cobra8472 replied to Cobra8472's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Seriously guys, thanks for the suggestions, but.. However, to continue upon the issue at hand, can you name one fucking game that does this bullshit? It should look like it does in the last screenshot there just at 1920x1080, and it doesn't because somehow its doing it at 640x480 or something.. Complete and utter bullshit. -
I too can report the bug of having 2-4 fps when viewing the weapons purchase console at the border. If I play without the SLX mod, it goes away, however with it the same issue appears. Any ideas?

It seems I cant get any grass or anything because my Terrain Detail dropdown box doesnt show any other options except "Very Low" What gives? 8800GTX Q6600 4GB PC6400 Ram ArmA 1.14 (QG)

Nope, no change. I usually do 4500m, but lowering it to even 1500m does nothing..

Hello again, I now have yet ANOTHER problem with Operation Flashpoint. As I said in the earlier thread, about the crashing, i've updated all my drivers except drivers for my 6800GT wich are on the 66.93 Omega drivers. I'm not getting LOTS of stuttering. If i just put one man into a mission, it's stuttering. I turn around 360 degrees in a circle and when my computer has finally loaded it's smooth. I cannot drive a car, fly, etc however since it's starting to load new terrain and it's stuttering. I think this is the problem anyways. I've tried it on 2 diffirent HD's aswell, to no avail. I just copied the game over from C:\ to E:\ to test it, i'm guessing registry hacks aren't needed? REally apprecaite it if someone could help me. I read a thread a while back of someone having the EXACT same problem, having to rotate 360 degrees for it to load. I have GOTY 1.93. AMD 2800+ Barton nVidia GeForce 6800GT (66.93 Omega) Shuttle AN35U Mobo (nForce2 with latest drivers) 1x Maxtor 120GB drive (E:\ 1x Maxtor 40GB drive (C:\ 1024 (512x2) PC3200 Ram. the 6800GT is slightly overclocked, but the rest is at stock speeds. EDIT: BTW, I just defragged to no avail.

Can someone write up a full list of the music you've used? Theres a nice collection of composers in there. You should also write this in the credits section, I think i recognize a few Hans Zimmer pieces

PROBLEM SOLVED!!! It seems i had my memory timings set wrong in my BIOS. This in turned caused some errors in them, wich in turn caused my OFP crashes. Excuse me while i go slap myself with a large trout for setting them wrong :/ Thank you to everyone wich tried to help!

GAAAAAAAHHH! I want to break something in half..! It seems i have MORE crashes now that i installed FFUR (nothing else)... I'm becoming tired of this, I can't even get past the bloody splash screen.. Exception code: C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION at 005A191E IT'S DRIVING ME NUTS!!! EDIT: Someone mentioned something about a D3D8 acess violation error? I'll try that if all else fails.. How could i fix that? No SP installed.
-
Yes No problem Ah, silly paint... So, anyone got any kind of solution perhaps? As a last measure i'm downloading the FFUR 2005 pack right now to see if it can fix the crashing.. maybe i'll get lucky. I love OFP. BTW, i've already tried reinstalling twice, with no luck. I did a registry clean afterwards aswell.

Lost that line in the edit; It doesn't help Including removal of the SkyPack? Yes. It was crashing before the installment of the pack.
