Looks great, Just a question Most Modern North American Law Enforcement Agencies use the Ford Crown Vic, Chevy Impala or Dodge Charger, is there any chance that we will be seeing these vehicles any time soon?

Thanks for the info. I was able to play without graphical glitches for about an hour or so then I encountered the glitches again. I guess it's sort of a luck of the draw thing. I'll try the suggestions you gave me, and praying that they work. Otherwise I'll still play the game while waiting for an ATI/Atari Fix to the problem. Thanks again.

Good Evening, I just bought Arm A Saturday afternoon and noticed that I was encountering graphical glitches (this had happened to me during the Demo version and though that the full version would have fixed the problem). (It's the same graphical glitches encountered by another member on this thread, http://s158.photobucket.com/albums/t90/knockedeye/ those are the glitches I'm currently encountering along with the 2D images) I've went through several other forums that had the same problem and none of the fixes have worked I've reverted back to the old Catalyst 6.7 drivers (to no avail) then went back to the newer 7.4 drivers (The 2D problem seems to have disappeared in infantry units) The problem only occurs while I'm inside either a BLUFOR or Independent APC, Car or Truck. I've tested it using helicopters and OPFOR vehicles but the problem only exists in the two sides. Edit: Just got through and hour and a half of play time WITHOUT Graphical glitches but after that mark, Glitches occurred left, right and center. I've heard that many with ATI cards are experiencing this problem and was wondering if anybody has found a solution to it or if a Patch or fix was in the process of completion? The Machine that I'm using is as follows Intel Pentium 4 3.0Ghz Windows XP (with all the current Updates) 1024mb of Ram Sapphire Radeon X1600 Pro with 256mb (Newest drivers) (Not the best I know, but what can I do as a Student/Reservist) Thanks, Ben M.

I know they look unfinished because the helmet is on the straps, there are several ways to put your goggles on and soldiers are free to lower' em as they wish, though. And these aren't 'oakleys', just a bunch of custom goggles, (unlike several armies, the US Army personnel is allowed to customize a part of the gear). Cheers for the nice words though, I'm pleased you appreciate them, and thanks once again to all people that helped in any way to make it all possible. regards, Thunderbird84 The goggles are Sun, Wind and Dust goggles given to each US and Canadian Soldier. They are not oakleys and they are customizable (well the lense is), the ones that THunderbird has on the ACU and BDU SF has the black tinted lense in place of the clear regular ones. You just might want to darken the lenses a bit (it could be just the photo). I'm sure Olemissrebel has a pair but if you need a reference picture I can provide you one of my set of goggles. Asking how would I know this information? I was issued a pair last week because the QM was out of Tac Glasses.

If I remember correctly the Mi24 cockpit was made specifically to stop .50 caliber rounds from killing the pilot and gunner. They basically sit in an titanium tub similar to that of an A-10 cockpit.

Sorry, I like guns but Im not a weapons-nerd so forgive me if Im not aware about every single decision US does.... Though, im very interested in why it was dropped by the US, u got an article? or maybe ill google it out myself... The same reason they dropped the commanche, OICW, land warrior, and other "future so and so" projects. Not enough motivation to spend the money in a so-called time of "peace." No to hijack the thread but THe XM8 was not dropped it was merely suspended. There are alot of reasons why it was suspended one of them being with current competition procedures. Another is the joint service deal, The Marines, Air Force, Navy and Army all want a piece of the pie but DoD has specifically ordered rifles for the Army. Another is that A friend of mine told me about a year and half ago that the XM8 Failed winter trials Another is the whole congressional thing, no money equals no rifle. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/ground/m8-oicw.htm Scroll down to History. Getting back on topic, ArmA is probably set in the near future, seeing the combination of M16's and M4's, ACU and BDU it probably is set within 2004-2005.

I am not sure about the distances you mean but on RL firing with such a weapon you can expect to be heard from at least 500 mts. Be aware that aslo many maps have alert triggers so as soon a sinlge AI detects you he informs the rest of the AI on the area. If your weapon is silenced you can even be heard upt to 10 15 mts nicely. Does not sound a bug to me. The distances the first mission I was talking about the enemy that I killed was about 10m, the nearest enemy AI was about 50-100m. I fired one shot to the head The second mission destroying the tanks, the distance of the enemy AI was about 150m, nearest enemy AI was oh atleast 600m in the next town. If tanks are able to hear the shots then I'd say they were about 200-300m below me. I fired 5 shots against 4 targets, I killed the last one with two rounds in the torso. I wasn't aware of the triggers, but I replayed both missions using the 1985 and 05 packs with no problems at all (due to the MP5), I played it using FDF, Y2K3 mods with no problems, although the first mission there seems to be a bug assoicated with the map itself. (so that could be the problem)

I'm almost certain that this hasn't been reported. I reported this with the Euro pack. The M4A1 SD sounds like a cannon to enemy AI, When I was playing the mission where you had to infiltrate the tank depot. I was crawling to a bush overlooking the watch tower and four sentries, one poor sentry with an RPG happens to cross my path and unfortunately for him he's out of the spotlight; I line up my scope and fire one round to the head, next thing I know the whole base is coming after me. In another mission where you had to destroy the tanks and kill the RPG crew; I killed the RPG crew under me but the enemy AI from the next town could hear my shot, I look through my binoculars and sure enough a platoon of Armoured Vehicles, One UAZ loaded with Spetsnaz comes racing down the road trying to hunt me down. Anyway you can fix this in the next release?

They're not that common, but they exist, though. [im]http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/4061/spec1pk.jpg[/img] Btw, Now ACU pilots and crews are available as well. [ig]http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/7421/pilot5rg.jpg[/img] [ig]http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/4369/crew8jz.jpg[/img] Thanks to Laser and to cbt/hyk for their pretty p3ds. Best Regards Thunderbird84 Spec Ops do wear ACU, It's not common but they do exist. Spec Ops will try to blend in when ever they can that inculdes wearing ACU uniforms or BDU's. As for flight ops and crew members, from what I remember they have their own set of uniform's basically a olive drab or tan uniform or flight suit (Maybe this is different in the US but up here in Canada they have different sets, and from the screenshots and people i've met that were armoured soldiers they have a different set) . Garrison dress would be a different story but when operating a tank you wouldn't want your Sergeant Major on your six about a dirty uniform. Overall it looks fantastic, and I can't wait. Whether FFUR implements ACU crew members is totally up to them whatever they decide It's going to be an excellent mod none the less. Sorry TB I mentioned it before, did you fix the sound issue with the M4 SD? Because when I used it in one of the missions everyone on base could hear the shot.
-
Not entirely, the M16A2 is still in service with some regular Army units particulary the FA and service and support. As stated earlier the ACU camo does work in Real life but in the game then the American soldiers would look like a sore thumb.
-
I hate to do this but there is one smaller bug in the cinematics (I noticed this a while back but kept my mouth shut). In the FFUR Euro, 2005, Winter, Asia and Woodland packs the final scene of the Reistance battle doesn't play out correctly, it works for the first 20 seconds before the whole movie seizes up and all you see is a civilan that your able to move around (mouse wise). My guess is that there's a compatibility problem with the island packs? as the scene is in a desert setting and the other's are in a Woodland setting.

Just completed this mission! Â .... Bear in mind that the T80's cannot be destroyed by sachels, so a slight change in tactics is required! Infiltrate the base as before, when it's clear make U're way to the tanks, place one sachel under the BMP walk up to the nearest T80 and get in as driver. Detonate the BMP, select main weapon control in T80 and take out the other T80 with three sabot rounds to the turret. Finnish off the rest of the camp using the tank, taking out the RPG soldiers as priority. Make sure there is no one left alive in the camp, then get out and pick up an RPG from one of the enemy, three rounds to the turret should finnish the T80! ...Finally make U're way to extraction! Â Not the intended procedure ...but some times improvisation is necessary in times of war! Â Will try thanks, usually my plan is also improvised. I usually sneak into the camp kill the Shilka crew members, the four guards, and the sentry then get into the Shilka drive it toward's the soldier's sitting around the camp fire and blow them all to hell, then place three satchels or drive each of the tanks towards the gas station and truck then place the satchels get in the Mi17 and boom. Usually the soldiers in the nearby village are deaf and won't notice anything until the last minute. This may have been answered before (I can't seem to find the answer), but will the 6.0 packs be released in the upcoming days? Sorry if I look impatient, but I'm really anxious to play the 6.0 packs

Was replaying CWC with this mod and hit a small little glitch, On the mission where your supposed to infiltrate the tank depot and knock out the tanks, one of the tanks on farthest to the left is just spinning around with it's engine on, it's almost near impossible to finish this mission, tried 10 times and finally just gave up (out of frustration). Otherwise I just have one other complaint, The M4A1 SD sounds like a SAW in the night, in the same mission I kill a guy close and out of viewing distance and audio distance (So I thought), suddenly everyone inside the compound hears the shot and runs in panic to their posts, Is the Subsonic ammo suppose to be that loud with a M4 (I know the Russian Subsonic ammo you can hear the shot if your within a reasonable distance) as opposed to a MP5SSD? Other than that the mod is excellent.

Merry Christmas all, Excellent addon, I was messing around last night using the editor and man was it fun, the reflections, the sounds and the overall experience. I just have one question, what's up with the ofp launcher?, I installed all 4-5 packs but yet when i double click the launcher it still says "download pack", when I click refresh It doesn't load or register any of the packs being installed. Well done FFUR, you truely made OFP enjoyable again. Any news on the 6.0 pack?, I'm anxiously waiting for its arrivial.

Ah thanks for the explanation, I guess it's the same problem up here. Reservists are still using the older C7A1 (basically our version of the M16A1/2) and C9A1 (our designation of the FN M249, except its been upgraded to include a 3.4x Elcan scope) while the Western and reg force guys are using the newer 7A2's and 9A2's.
