Nice job with the islands. My definite fave is new Kolgujev - the place feels like a forest in France the way you've done it. Only have two comments to make 1. Runway is far too short - try landing an A10 on an aircraft carrier! 2. A lot of the bases don't have fences - which isn't a bad thing, but I'll send you a PM about this - I need a favour! Good job, 2LT C.McDonald. -
Ranger Bob - you didn't see those other ones in the Photography centre did you? If so - they were my own hopeless retextures   - but mine are fairly dodge, and I'm currently waiting until an update of the infantry comes out so I can borrow some textures from there.

Yeah, I think a little less explosions would be more realistic. Especially with APFSDS shells, the tank that gets disabled just kicks up a bit of dust and stops moving while the crew tries to bail out - maybe flames coming out of the cupola if at all? Of course, this description doesn't describe tanks hit in their ammunition stores! Boom!

I'm kinda glad I upgraded when I did - I should be fine for AA. 3.4GHz P4 OC'd to 4.02GHz 2GB RAM 256MB DDR3 EN (NVidia) 6800GTO <- going to replace this beauty with one of them new X1800XTs from ATi, those 512MBs of DDR3 look irresistible. 10000rpm Raptor HD. Cooling system - big fans.

Hey guys - problem with the FAMAS. Speed of fire is handled in the weapon's config.cpp under the value "reloadtime=x;". To make the rate of fire in full auto realistic, find out how many rounds per minute (RPM, heh) the weapon fires in full auto (cyclic) and divide by 60 seconds. Enter this value for your reloadtime entry. Simple. -EDIT (Make sure you look under the full auto weapon setting, not semi! It should start with ClassFullAuto, and be a subclass of something else - can't remember off the top of me head.

Just a suggestion, Nick - on the custom version, could you please:- make at least one military base, using Barracken? and please use RKSL's runway textures. If you feel like it, that is. Keep up the good work.

But what about 2 or 3 round bursts? Sure, you'd expect after a full mag continuously for the recoil to go haywire, but this recoil system means if you fire anything other than 1 round in a burst, the second round (and any thereafter) will be winging it for the skies. I vote for either JAM 3 or FDF recoil values, but that's just me.

I still think the rifles are a bit far. The fully auto fire is ridiculously hard to hit anything with.

Are there going to be any military bases on the island? That would make my day, as far as it's concerned. ...If so, would you consider using Mapfact's Baracken? Those buildings look excellent. Keep up the good work.

I know about that one, guys - it's not really up to scratch (with all due respect to the maker). Jackal - I'm not an addon maker. I was just tossing the idea around. I don't know the first thing about making an addon. Animations or missions, however...

Thanks for that exhaustive list, guys. I'm not as much a fan of the Marines as I am of US regular infantry, but I was hoping to convert the models from this addon into US infantry by replacing the MARPAT with ACUPAT, since all the hundreds of ACU addons (heh, only one really) are not up to scratch, I'm afraid. Could it be done? What UNIFORM-wise would have to change? (besides obvious things like the weapons loadouts, I know all about config editing).

Seconded. This is the reason I often snap my keyboard in half in frustration and hurl it out the window. I keep thinking - now, from all the videos of people firing M4s and MGs in full auto (military videos, not movies, mind you), does the gun really fly so high towards the sky so you've a better chance of hitting birds than men? Are the OFP soldiers bearing down on their weapons at all? In some missions, I'm even forced to fall back to my own lil mod with its FDF recoils (much better, I find) and increased dispersion. I'd have to say that the recoils are the only thing that makes FFUR unattractive to me. It's still excellent, mind you, but it makes me grit my teeth and yowl when I can't hit anything from 50 metres away.

True, but surely the data would change (obviously accuracy decrease) for inexpert shooters as well as those under battlefield stress.

Ah, although this has already been mentioned in another topic, if someone could replace the MARPAT with ACUPAT (with Safety's permission), one would have a good regular infantry addon on their hands. But it's just a thought.

A good job. I hate to get off topic, but 1. Do the marines use the same body armour and webbing as US Army infantry? For example, the Interceptor system?

A nice idea Jinef, especially if you want to go and hunt through all of OFP's code. I thought FFUR was a unit replacing and effect implementing mod, not an upgrade. Sheesh. Only problem I can see with those heads is the helmet size and the goggles, as red kite mentioned.
