    To clarify your question: BDU (Battle Dress Uniform) is the camouflage currently seen on the HYK's soldiers, designed to blend into a woodland environment. ACU is the US Army's new digital camouflage, designed to provide some concealment in all possible environs and thus (by reducing the number of different camo schemes from 3 to 1) ease logistics.

    I say ACU all the way, cause I'm a realism nut. But I recommend IMHO to make both, partially because your excellent BDU textures shouldn't go to waste. Secondly because judging from those BDU textures, your ACU ones would be excellent. And I should really like to be able to use your textures in other projects (because I basically stole mine from KMan, and he uses a different model). So do both, but please have ACU available.

    That trava2 file or whatever is overwritten in the patch was never meant to be a field in the original anyway - I never saw a field on the side of a hill in the original Nogova textures - would've sat out like a "sore thumb with a neon sign taped to it".

    Some people just couldn't be bothered or fail to get permission from addon makers whose work they've used, others aren't satisfied with their efforts (like me), a very small minority are selfish and quite a lot don't have the time to get it up to scratch. I love making missions with modified stuff though. I've never liked playing MP with stuff I consider either obsolete or unrealistic, and most people won't stuff their addon folders with my 2GB of modified stuff, so single-player is my fave option. Plus most of the stuff I modify wouldn't last 20 seconds in the public world it's so bad (I can't edit p3d's).

    Pretty good stuff. Some advice: a) Fix the ILS - I'm currently landing in the sea. b) The textures you have are good, but there are earlier ones (for Nogova) released by WGL that would go better with the OFPL Erba grass. c) Fence the airport. Other than that, a neat lil island. Well done.

    Well, if it is, it's hidden or inherent, because I've deleted the entire "scripts" folder from the AEF pack, as well as removing eventhandlers and anims from the config - and still getting lag. It could be the tank, but I've done the same thing for that too, and I still have lagging every 5 secs on the dot.

    Enjoy your vacation, mate! Â I've been fiddling around still, removing all eventhandlers, user actions, even animations from the AEF addon. Nothing seems to work. Until... I replaced the p3d model of the tracks with nothing. That is the problem, but, no trains, sadly. Does anyone want to take a look at the track model and see if anything there is a problem? ALSO - the laggation ends once you get out of the M1A2... weird. I've also tried removing all scripts, eventhandlers and anims from the tank too, but no dice.

    That's it! I was hoping I wasn't alone. Thing is though, it's not to do with scripts. I'm thinking perhaps models, but I'm not sure as to how that would cause the lag. Will investigate further...

    Loving this island! But... I can't run it how I want to. Can someone please test this for me? Put four of Inquisitors M1A2s on the map. Now, just to prove me right, make your viewdistance as small as possible, and try to drive around, whereever you want. Does ANYONE notice a considerable lag every 4-5 seconds? I've been trying to isolate the bug, but insofar no luck. Some findings: a) It seems to be linked to the AEF Trains! When removed, the tanks run fine. b) Only happens on islands with the AEF trains on them, and only with Inquisitor's tanks. c) Is not script related (I removed all scripts from the INQ tanks and AEF trains, but no improvement occurred). d) Has nothing to do (seemingly) with visual quality, view distance, etc. Help!

    Hey all, I'm trying to make my lil personal mod as realistic as possible. I was curious - does anyone have weapon sounds (from a video with audio, perhaps) of the following weapons firing in real life? AK74 M4A1 PK (and the PKT, if possible) M249 That's the main ones I'm concerned about. Not that I don't appreciate the sounds addon makers use, of course, it's all just my personal preference. Any help would be wonderful

As a retexturer of principle, I ALWAYS ask all addon makers involved before releasing anything! *** Hey guys, I need your opinion on something; which ACU retexture is better (both visually and realistically)? a) Retextured Safety's Marines PROS Many models (different webbing loadouts) Aesthetically FAR more pleasing Have armor collar CONS Clip more No NBC kit Not sure if Army Grenadiers have a sidearm (cannot fix)? No medic patch (easily solved) No unarmed/officer units (that I have textured, anyway ) b) Retextured HYK's Troops PROS NBC Kit Trusted, reliable Less clipping No gap in wrist Unarmed + officer models (no webbing/armor) Medic patch Goggles for each unit CONS Fewer, older models Aesthetically less pleasing No armor collar Thanks to SafetyCatch, Hyakushiki, ThunderBird84 (very much) and The KMan 3000. What do you think? Finally, I'd be eternally grateful if anyone could lead me or send me (PM me first) to some high-res ACU textures. After searching around for a while, I haven't found anything good. Best case scenario: someone with the ACU uniform could send me some snapshots?

    That's exactly the reason I wouldn't release my "mod": a) cause it's not really a mod (although I'm a good config-editor, sifting through the root config for unit replacements = nah uh). b) noone could run it. c) it would be a bastardised smack up of FFUR, ECP and EECP with stolen ACU textures pasted on it. So I just enjoy using it myself! @DB-ERAUPilot - I'm willing to do one, if you're willing to download 1.8GB of my altered addons! Â -EDIT- That's an awesome name for my mod! Operation: Collection of Addons + ECP The bottom line is: MOD = modification, not just addons + mission. (I should teach maths).

    I've got ECP (which incorporates ORCS effects), MODUL, NIM, DXDll and John's running, along with the best addons ever made. Runs excellently on my machine (3.4GHz oc'd to 3.91, 256 GF6800GTO oc'd, 2048Mb DDR2 RAM, etc etc), with at least 20fps and 2000m viewing. What's yours like? EDIT - Those are all simultaneous, btw.

    Christ, that was a quick reply. I've got ECP - but I was curious, have you only added the files for the fire textures, and only a couple for the smoke? I only have John's fire files in, cause I can't stand the smoke, and mine looks a bit like that, but not exactly. Which files did you add?

    Maybe (as an idea) the textures should be more alike, with only a few differences between each frame, so it doesn't look like they're shape-shifting as much. And perhaps lower detail on the clouds, maybe fuzzier? I think this would increase the gameplay experience exponentially.
