I enjoyed Red Hammer too - it was good to play as a Soviet. However, I just enjoyed Retaliation much more, as it seemed the Russians were just a tad more... sane. Oh, and welcome to the forums, Beatty.

Looking excellent. Btw, if there are any division decals on the tank, can you remove them? I had to do it manually last time. Also, could you add a place to stick an NFOR, KFOR or whateverFOR on it? Ta.

Adding smokeshells and flares to a helicopter
CameronMcDonald replied to Benny Moore's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
This is an OFPEC question <sniff>, but hopefully I can help you a little. First, this line may help, this addmagazine "smokeshell" or "smokeshellred" or "smokeshellgreen" for flares, same thing, except "flare" or "flaregreen" or "flarered" We're not as bad as you might think. I reckon we've the strongest gaming community around for a game of this type. I've not yet seen anyone add Star Wars or American Civil War mods (for example) to Ghost Recon or Rainbow Six or MOH. Ask and ye shall recieve. Usually, this is the kind of thing you'd go to OFPEC (the mecca of OFP editing) to ask, but sadly, its vast database is currently indisposed. Enjoy your modding! Â -
Tutorial for replacing default unit models?
CameronMcDonald replied to mechastalin's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Unless of course you're playing by yourself, and your computer doesn't have the internet... like me . -
I totally agree, but still... Â Â It's not like there's anything you or me or anyone can do about those kind of posts except ignore them. That said, those people who are peeing their pants for this to come out, like me ( ) really should leave the team alone until the proper time - do we want a polished product, or some half-baked shambles seething with bugs? On topic, yes? EDIT: Not that anything the FFUR team releases would be a half-baked shambles seething with bugs.

Tutorial for replacing default unit models?
CameronMcDonald replied to mechastalin's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
There are quite a few tutes for this, notably ones by the FFUR and Y2K3 teams - did you search? Sorry I haven't gotten any links for this, but it's been done to death before. Good luck. -
Not to belittle your request, mate - but I'm fairly sure as a humble mission maker you'd be fine using soundtrack music. One word = FFUR. That has at least one movie song in it (Pirates of the Carribean), and I'm sure countless other mission makers have inadvertently stepped on countless toes for music usage, but never been pinged for it, rather applauded for using reliable, suitable music. My vote: go ahead and use whatever music you'd like. Those tunes from Llauma and didart are quite something, though!

Bah, don't play Red Hammer. I recommend you try Peacemaker: Retaliation (using the FFUR 2005/1985 mods, either one is fine). It gives a much more realistic, rounded, better scripted and less biased view than the original Red Hammer - though all due respect to those guys work. Peacemaker: Retaliation (though only one part of the campaign) is what the Soviet missions should be like, IMHO.

I'm back at uni now, so the FFUR team can take their time, since I've got lotsa work to be doing. Kudos, guys! Â Ah, the things I will do with those new ACU textures - brings a tear to my eye socket... Â EDIT: Once I get them, I can finally knock over my campaign! Oh, and TB84 - is this a bug, or do you know you've been using the 1985 crewman model in the 2005 FFUR? In reality, they should be using the Interceptor stuff, same as the infantry, however, that model has the old ALICE (I think?) armour going, and that's why the shoulders and collar are weird. After some tweaking... Thanks TB84 for lending the textures. I'm sure the FFUR team can improve upon my efforts because these are the textures intended for riflemen, not crew. TB84, could you please make the textures (both ACU and BDU) for the 2006 crewman less ALICE-like, more Interceptor-like, and use the 2003 CBT model?

Same - I was sick of OFP running like crap at 500m viewdistance. (16MBs graphics ) Now it runs... ah, like mercury on ice. At 2000m viewdistance, everything on full! -
Wonderful - hats off to you, mate!

Turning OFP into your favourite game!
CameronMcDonald replied to gandalf the white's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Wouldn't that make any flares you fire at night look a lil wierd? Though I spose it wouldn't really matter that much - I might try that myself. -
Seconded. Mine's a nice fat 3 GBs. You must have a lotta mods!

Turning OFP into your favourite game!
CameronMcDonald replied to gandalf the white's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I'm fairly sure that the "star" or flare you're talking about still remains, the addon simply makes sure that light effects are correctly represented upon nearby objects. I think the "star" happened in both pictures, however, the second was taken after the flare disappears. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I have this addon as well, and the same thing happens to me as what does to Alexx. Oh, and welcome to the forums! -
Yeah, any luck Voron?
-
Any luck, guys? Looking forward to your island...

How are these new features implemented?

So... trainless version? Yes? And how does one remove the shadow from the object, sv5000? -
My girlfriend laughed at me, and told me to use my own voice so she could laugh at me some more. <sniff> She's a funny one!
