Two words: Beta testing. Trust me on this.

Monty Python, perhaps? Btw, the second was my own work. I'm not knocking anyone's addon, except maybe my own.
-
Ah, crap, I saw this just yesterday. I'll try and look around for it again...

Picture Anyone recognise the last two lines?

You can move your head independently of your gun in OFP without mouse look enabled, but only to a certain degree. May I introduce my favourite OFP keys, located on the numpad: 7 - look 45 or so degrees left. 4 - look 90 degrees left. 1 - look as far left as you are able (over your shoulder) and 9 - look 45 or so degrees right 6 - look 90 degrees right 3 - look as far right as you are able (over your shoulder) As if you'd use Alt+mouse. You can't aim while doing that - with this, once you let go of the key, your view goes straight back into aiming mode, no troublesome fiddling with keys all over the shop. Plus Alt+mouse is slow as when looking around.

In Nightkiller's last picture he is using: ORCS Weapon Pack And a hybrid of: ORCs Tank Crew and RHS Sobr (helmet)

Nice ACU. I'm working on a version of my own. Just curious - how did you add pockets and whatnot to your textures? Are you using PSP?
-
Heck, maybe you could even get: "The Southern Sarahni grunt" - now with exploding teeth! Put him out on drill and watch the teeth fly!
-
I thought it was painstakingly obvious that Russia IS NOT in the game. Obviously not. And dyslexci's right, I mean, so what if ACU looks like crap? It's what the US are wearing, it's realistic. Get over it. Heck, I'm the most annoyed that the US units don't have ACU vest covers, but I can put up with it.

Didn't they say you could define unique animations for weapons now much easier than you could in OFP? Meaning that each weapon could have its own unique animations? For example, in that "15 minutes of AA" video, isn't the soldier holding the M4 in a different way to how he's holding the PK?...

Fabulous flying & firing machines in ArmA?
CameronMcDonald replied to ricnunes's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
That's a few helicopters... and an exquisitely cluttered marker layout. -
How realistic do you expect ArmA to be?
CameronMcDonald replied to martinovic's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
I don't really mind about the base level realism, as long as the game plays well, and mods can be made for the realism nuts (points at self). -
It's not meant to be superior, simply to work adequately in all environments. ACU was introduced to ease logistics more than anything else.
-
Whoever wrote that needs a serious lesson in English grammar. Jeez...
-
Red Kite - those ACU are Gen. 1. Obsolete. The latter generation is darker, more tan, and all around better. But Multicam still whoops, ass, I agree. It's a pity the US Army ain't using it.
-
You didn't know that? I'm amazed.

I liked the rank system in OFP, since I could finally make squads with realistic values (Sergeant in command, Corporal XO, etc etc etc.)
-
That guy's running AA on a computer that's worse than mine! Awesome!
-
Yeah, the natural "pointability" of weapons (especially submachineguns) can't be simulated in games (yet), unfortunately.
-
Oh yeah, 3-1, Australia vs Japan <does a little dance> And Schwarzer was fouled - keeper to keeper, I know exactly how he feels.
-
And the jumping (especially the jumping while prone - that made me laugh for about 20 minutes when I saw some guy lying on the ground bouncing around). One of these days, I'm gonna grab my video camera, get into full assault gear, and make a video of how hard it is to jump. I will also show yas how high I can jump from the prone position....

Modding. Do We Have To Sart From Square One Again?
CameronMcDonald replied to westy159's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
Agreed - someone should stick this in FAQ and then lock this thread. -
Who the hell doesn't go hiking? I used to make missions for that - put it on ridiculously nice islands like FDF mod ones, add a ton of NIM weather, a good ole-seagull script, and one objective: - Make your way to <insert secluded spot here>. Take your time.

Modding. Do We Have To Sart From Square One Again?
CameronMcDonald replied to westy159's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
Most likely. Hopefully (for me) the basic format will remain the same, with a lot of new commands or stuff, basically to do with character switching, etc etc, all that new stuff we're likely to run into in AA. -
Modding. Do We Have To Sart From Square One Again?
CameronMcDonald replied to westy159's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
Judging as BIS has repeatedly nailed signs to people's foreheads saying "OFP content can be easily converted to AA" it is quite likely that the tools, etc, will be similar to those of OFP. Excepting that weird L-named vegetation generator thingy. However, at the moment, <sings> nobody knows, but Jesus...
