Haha - man, you should have seen the look on my face when I saw 2 HMGs and BMP2 blocking the road to the airport. Several seconds later, both '113s up in smoke, 20 US KIA. Whoever was in command and decided to send M113s up against BMP2s/Shilkas should have been marched off and shot. Still, nothing like a little bit of lone wolfing. -

Confirmed. Also happens when upside down. I also get a few array errors using the RACS AH6 - better check your config and whack a few []s in there.

OK, I'm just going to say something, and get it out there. Guys, I can't model. There, it's done. Now, what I'm going to say here isn't likely to be read by anyone interested, or whatnot, but I don't ask for much, and I just thought that someone (hell, anyone) with a bit of modelling experience could help me. Plus if I ask anywhere else or make a new thread I'll be immediately gang-raped. I would like (and, to a lesser extent, need) someone to make 5 objects for me. They don't need to be textured, or have normal maps made. They just need to be textured and UV-unwrapped onto 1 texture, with a wireframe of where the unwrapping for each part is. I can make the texture and normal maps, piece of cake, but without the model itself, I'm going nowhere. The objects I'd like to have made are neither vehicles nor weapons, neither human nor animal, neither ammo crate nor wreck - they're pieces of armour. These beastly parts, hailing from the new US IOTV (though the DPs and GP are from the original) would probably take a conservative 5-10 minutes each to make and unwrap, though I'm not a modeller, so I can't say. What I can say is that if people can make kickass tanks + stuff when motivated, is there anyone out there willing to lend a somewhat-medium-decent-retexturer a hand and make these for me, even if unpaid and unmotivated? Here's what I'd like, if possible. I've included a schematic of the best way to make these, or all that would be necessary, IMHO. Part #1 - Deltoid + Upper Arm Protectors. These badboys make look vicious, but don't be alarmed. All I need is the base model, i.e. the shape of the things with the connecting strap up top, as the MOLLE + velcro can all be textured/normal mapped into oblivion. My schematic of the model looks a little like this: (Note that strap bit can probably be represented by a thin, double sided quadrilateral.) Now, that's a crap picture, uh huh, and the round bit needs to be polygonised, but how long would it take to make + unwrap that? I've had enough of making shitty schematics for one night, but the other 3 parts (since I need two identical deltoid protectors) are just as similar if not more simple than that. One is a prism and the other two (which are also identical) are basically rectangles with another thin rectangle curled across them. So there, in reality, óne would only need to make 3 models. Super. So please, someone, for the love of God, put me out of my misery. Just drop me a PM, and I'll send you the specifics. It wouldn't take any longer than an hour, I promise. -
I max it out... it's like vet OFP all over again. All I wish there was now concerning this was the old R6-like view from the original ArmA videos - it had a far better feeling, IMHO.

Awww, I'm insulted, I seem to be the only one around here interested in making modern US troops (Army ones, anyway)... Â Nah man, nice to hear you have big plans. I have big plans too, I've just got too much RL work (and not enough modelling talent) to get 'em done. EDIT - And if anyone is actually interested in making them, or wants to help me out and has some modelling ability (I only need 5 teeny tiny things made - some would probably be around one prism, we're talking double-sided-cylinder stuff here) please PM me. Just on this point, and only concerning manportable weapons - do you mean via new models as well as the HD change, or do you just mean reconfigged BIS models? Not trying to have a go at you at all, just curious to see what other things you may have planned. Â -

Hey, I'm back after playing the mod, with Rom's changes. It all seems fine to me. Rom you might wanna discuss with VF (though he seems to not be around, judging from this) the addition of your sounds, cause to me they sound better than the vanilla. But you critics should remember all he's doing is giving sounds to add to the mod, he's not re-releasing the thing. Did you even look inside the file Rommel put up? Heck, you could call it "Rom's mini-soundpack" if you wanted, and could use it with vanilla ArmA if you wished. All it is is a bunch of sounds, which Rom suggests you augment the pack with, it isn't a modified version of this mod at all. It's like different sounds for the CS weapons that Skaven imported, and noone crucified RobertHammer or tmp for hosting those up. Double standards, people. If he'd made a separate thread about it, noone would kick up any fuss, and it's not like he's ramming it down your throats. Secondly, why in the name of all things sacred did people decide to get up Rommel for calling his own (note the lack of anyone else besides Rommel) constructive criticism whining? Figure of speech, people. If we're all going to get high and mighty about the choice of words people use to describe their own actions, I'll gladly throw the first several billion stones. -

Well, I was under the impression (i.e. I read somewhere) that the makers of the models had leant him the models carte blanc (or is it blanche... forgotten so much French) for the ArmA community. As such, they gave permission to him to give permission to us. With all due respect, the second once everyone starts calling them "The CS Weaponpack imported by Skaven" I'll follow suit. I mean, sheesh, he asked for permission to import them, he got it, he made a config, and gave the original makers credit. What else do you want from him? -

Yeah, sorry bout that one. I know they're CS models, but he configged them up and all, and for ease of reference, it's better to say "Skaven's pack" than "the CS weapons Skaven imported." And I did say "Skaven's RACS," not "Skaven's Guns." Nowhere did I imply ownership, except of the RACS themselves. But I know where you're coming from. It'd be like calling the T64 "Kenji's model as textured by RHS," you know? -
