Bet you sat up all night trying to pick flaws in other people's work. Congrats, idiot. Anyway, besides whatever you two blokes have planned for v2, I would like to see the troops a bit dirtier, especially around the knees and legs - I doubt they'd be that clean after seeing action on Sahrani. -
Ah, texture merging, such a pain in the arse, yet so satisfying to finish (if you don't screw up, hehehe). Mecha, you might want to consider doing it for your BMD1, as well, but I spose that's another story.

With all due respect to Frederf's work, allow me to pimp my own addon. It has: - ACU kneepads, correct IBA MOLLE arrangement, as per real life. - Milspec unit patches + velco arrangement on the model itself. Note how the 1ID patches are tilted to the front, whereas the 4ID patches are straight up + down, which is incorrect. - Normal maps to reflect the above, wounds also. - Darkened ACU which looks a shitload more like ACU does in RL. Instead of fading to white like BIS' ACU (and since the 4ID units are the same brightness as the BIS pattern), mine fade to a greenish-gray, as in RL. -

Mate, if it's not too much trouble and you haven't got any other additions yet to make, could you put up a complete list of what weapons (or, failing that, classes of weapons, eg. M16A1/2/3/4, MP5, etc) will be included? I'm making a little amalgamated weapon pack, and I don't want to have spent hours of work having put in weapons likely to be eclipsed by your pack.

After trying the textures you sent me yesterday I think it won't be hard to find new surprises from you  Those are truly unbalievable my friend, we must use them on the GRU in version 2  If you need normal maps, chuck 'em in. I don't mind doing the normal maps for the new patches, if you want them uber realistic (which I do). -

Yeah, I know all about you 3ID loons. However, I'm fairly sure it's possible to include everything in a single PBO, however, as my good friend Wolfrug pointed out, it's likely to be prodigious in size, unless of course I can get my hands on the tools and do some work with hiddenselections, which is what I did for my ole OFP ACU troops, so I have quite a bit of experience with it. The more I consider this option, the more attractive it seems, excepting that having large polycount models with +2 or more loadouts could become CPU-prohibitive, AFAIK. -

Mate, I know how it works, I'm limited however by a certain lack of tools. That's why I don't bother releasing the units at this point in time, and have basically halted work on them until I have some major progress to show on them. EDIT - However, I was also tossing up the idea of throwing in some major cosmetic changes (e.g. different gear loadouts, LBH customisations, etc) to the units with each change in rank, so for example an E2 rifleman looks almost totally different gear-wise to the equivalent unit one or two rank grades above. Though it may not be possible in the early stages when I recontinue work, due to the lack of other people's work to borrow, and I'm a shite modeller. -

I know it would drastically inflate the size of the addon if I do it the way I'm planning to do it, however, having a range of different ranks etc with each type would make it easier for mission makers especially to simulate true life operations. I was originally planning to do what you suggest, however, because ranks are very prominent on Army uniforms it irritates me when I have to use a rifleman model with an E2 badge when I've ranked him Major or Captain ingame. Thanks for your opinion, mate. Anyone else got 20c AUD? -

Sorry for not replying to your PM mate, I was really busy all this week with RHS + personal work. I plan on doing other divisions and units, certainly, as well as making units with a different rank for each model type (e.g. Rifleman - E2, Rifleman - E4, etc etc) but I don't really think I'd be wise working on the troops until the tools come out and I can give them some true customisation. I think I've got the camo almost correct, but the models shit me off, and I hate that USMC gear. I'll definitely be adding 3ID though, they'll make good companions to 1ID, so fear not. At the moment I'm simply working on making a customised weapon PBO with all the good weapon addons out there. Whether or not this will ever lead to a mod I cannot say... -

I don't bother changing the OPFOR, but I can't stand a mixmatch of camos, so naturally I use my own units. And Skaven's RACS stuff is nice when I get tired of choc-chip desert BDU.
