Fight Load Carrying Vest - basically the standard-issue LBH (Load Bearing Harness) of the US infantry. Also known as just FLV. -
My advice. Climb up to the top of the tower inside the base. Wait there, you'll be able to see the enemies coming a mile away (2 from the forest, 2 from the town, if my memory serves me correct). They have silenced Makarovs, so they can't hit you from the ground, and it turns the whole mission into a 10-minute turkey shoot.

G'day again. To answer your questions: - I will only be releasing one weapon with the units, because the weapons in the screenshots are NOT my own work, and their respective authors are either releasing them themselves (i.e. the M16A4 + A4M203) or are currently on holiday (M249). - New animations are currently impossible. I made that bloke hold his 16 by the carrying rail via the Queen's Gambit animations, which totally kick arse, btw. - Because I've decided to do the NOD replacement by a different method than usual (i.e. not via scripts), with any luck I can get a replacement config working. -
ArmA Photography I - No images over 100kb.

Threw these up in my own thread, then thought why the hell not. They're a tad heavy though, so beware. 1 2 A: RKSL, CMcD ACU + modified MRAWS (WIP). -

Ta for the comments. About the arms, well, I think they're fairly well proportioned (I have altered their size to account for the larger body and leg size of the new troops, but I may revisit them - we'll see). Glad you like the NODs, Charles - though I'm sure Johannes has something crazy-go-nuts up his sleeve(s) for his leathernecks. NoRailGunner - ask and ye shall recieve. 1 2 These pics are quite large, btw... and also, notice the little bit of work I've done on the Javelin... ...and I know that those blokes are wearing their NODs in stark daylight - I've yet to get the new proxy model in order. -

...and speaking of the new units, I got the standard-issue FLCV done today. Here's a pic: I'll probably do one more LBV, and a clipped-up variant of the FLCV for variety, then it'll be time to get the lads all loaded up, and make the garrison units. Â -
Arma mission makers, how much do you play?
CameronMcDonald replied to Tankbuster's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
I can't play, because I'm too busy modding. The missions I make are usually "squad o' whatever you're working on up against 50 OPFOR grunts," sad as it is to admit. -
Wasn't Crye Multicam rejected due to its high cost?

Be advised that the links seen there are for the old units (i.e. retextures), as the new units have not yet been released. -
Looking very gewd, son!

Ta mate, reply has been sent. EDIT - ...and download my OFP ACU troops too, just to have a look at my system of NOD replacement. -

@Plaintiff - great post, mate. @Everyone else - are you all blind? Take a look at the latest WIP pictures (back four pages or so) and tell me if the pouches are still curved. And yes, there will be goggle covers, once the ones I have are remapped. -

You bet your sweet bitty there will be. Yeah, I've got the animated version, Pedro was nice enough to hand his latest pack over to me for beta testing before he left. Sadly, without his permission I'm afraid noone else can have it at this point in time. I posted a pic quite some time back with my troops using the SAW during reload, if you want to sift through the CBT Photo thread to find it. Ta mate, comments like that help the work along nicely. -
Ta broham. Happy birthday for a few days back, btw. Meant to PM but was pissed at the time. PS. R4, sweet pics. The first one is 'specially nice.

No probs mate, btw, I'll be dirtying up/darkening the rack/kit ACU to make it match, also, so it'll all look better with more work. I'm going to give you some hints. a) They've been released before. b) All by the same bloke (well, the original authors of the weapons vary, one is a well-known member of these forums, but the author of the PACK hasn't been seen for a little while, he's on holiday). c) I've done some modifications to the SAW, size-wise, and the version I have of the weapons hasn't yet been released. Oh, and you can't find 2 of the weapons seen above in the latest version of the pack. Since I'm the only bloke working on this addon, I use O2 to do very small modifications, e.g. scaling + making NODs. My contributors (i.e. my anonymous modelling friend) uses a combination of Maya and 3DSMax. -

Exhibit Grey - I'm telling you mate, it's straps upon straps. - I'll try and break the monotony up with some clips, where I can. -

I can't imagine why not, IF the new model isn't too different selection, bone, animation, etc wise from the old unit. This may be a problem with my units, because they have will most likely have eventhandlers for NOD management, etc etc, but a replacement config is certainly possible, with the right amount of work. I do admit that the "5-seconds-of-text-replacement-and-here's-a-replacement-config" approach is not likely to be successful on these units. -

That's an SDS I-Rack I'm making there, mate - it's not made of mesh (linky). It's currently missing the chest portion, although the older Racks come without the chest piece, like my model. I do intend to make an FLCV as well, though it will most likely be included via normal maps rather than modelled, as it is mostly mesh. Questions for you: - Any pics of the LBH in ACU? I need to see what colour the mesh is before I can make it. Thankfully the mesh isn't exactly transparent, so that's not a problem. And yeah, the NODs are obviously in the wrong position, they're there for WIP reasons only at the moment, and I'm trying to get the rest of the model done before I start scripting. Thanks for the constructive criticism, I'll take any more you've got on board. -
