Have you ever thought that $600,- every three years might be (too) much money for some people? Especially if you want to buy other things. If you don't really have a job, or nice parents, whatever, $600 might be much for you. As for me, I upgrade my PC in parts, I try to get the most for the money I have available at that moment. - Viper

I'm sorry to say this, but this is actually a well-known thing in both Armed Assault and OFP. Nonetheless, glad you found out about it, and perhaps some other people who haven't as well, will know now too.

@RTS mod, That is actually bloody amazing. Imagine all the new posibilities for Armed Assault. Woah !

Yeah, maybe we could put it on the BIS wiki, if it isn't already, as it is a real issue. On the other hand, it's not exactly a bug. I think ? - Viper

I have the same problem like most people do. The full game runs much, much better than the demo, on the exact same settings. I wanted to play the demo with a friend of mine who doesn't have the full game yet, unlike me, but ended up in angrily removing the demo from my PC. My friend also had some major problems. It wasn't my connection, I'm sure, (100mb internet connection) others can play fine on my server. (Full game). - Viper

Left-Skid-Low, You're probably right. Well, I usually play with more mature people. At least, I try to, and try to figure out what to do before we leave. Anyway, we're having a LAN party in one week, and I wanted to build some missions for that, but because ArmA needs to load the map every -bloody- time you go back to the mission editor, and even when you don't change something, I gave up, too boring. Please BIS, we beg you. - Viper

Nice tutorial DeadEye. I wrote a tutorial for OFP as well, a long time ago. Also wanted to tell you about the showCinemaBorder false thing, but seems someone was first.

I hope not, but I do hope BIS is maybe working on this issue, or is planning to. It's extremely annoying. - Viper

It's not just for pilots, but for anyone. I, myself, always play on Veteran mode online, for realism, with no GPS or whatever. I want to be able to quickly check the map, and not wait when I toggle back in game, what if hostiles spotted us ? Then I might get killed without being able to do something. I actually use the minimap in the time being, but the fact that you can't use your keyboard/mouse is annoying, but logical of course, since you're in a menu. I still just think it's stupid that it happens. Why not make a minimap, like when you press espace, but not with the option menu ? Or an overlay ? Like the compass/watch in stead of the stupid reloading thing. I just can't explain to you how much I'm annoyed by this, and I'm sure other people think the same as I do. Some of you guys also claim it's more realistic, as in real life you also need to take the time to take out the map. True, but in real life you can look up when you look at the map or drop the map in case something urgent (ie. enemies spotted) comes up ! - Viper

I'm also very pissed off about this, whether you're an infantryman, pilot or crewman, you always need to load the bloody game when putting away the map. Now, if they could have done something with it, so you may be able to see slightly through the map, that'd be much better. No, in stead they put up a massive solid loading screen so you can't even move or see what in earth you're doing. Isn't it possible to make it like an overlay, like the compass/watch does ? - Viper

Indeed, I also noticed the setUnitPos was not working. You can in stead command your squad to 'Stand Up' and they'll stay upright. But I wanted to make other squads also do it, like running straight into gunfire. *Wink* Hope they fix it though.

I'd go with Mr Reality's PC, but in stead of the 2x GeForce 7950GX2, having 2x GeForce 8800GTX. Absolutely, it will rock any game out there. Of course running under Windows XP. Vista is not yet optimized to play Windows XP games.

Matt Rochelle, Yes, I think it'll be well-playable. Anyway, You can have 144 squads on one side. The standard squad size is 9 men, so I put down 144 squads of 9 men. 1296 soldiers. Heh. Extremely well playable. FPS of around 35. Nah. FPS of 0 - 1, heh. Regarding the tanks .. I'm guessing about 751 tanks. - Viper

Sort of 30 FPS constant in towns, usually slightly above that. In the deserts it's around 50-80 FPS. (Logically). I've got a 19" screen, but I'm playing ArmA with 1024x768. The resolution really has a huge FPS impact. So does Postprocessing on High. My settings; Notice the Terrain Detail on Very Low. That's because I accidentally deleted some file or folder in my Documents folder, can't turn it higher at the moment. The setting didn't seem to alter my FPS anyway. At least, not noticably. Clavicula, can you explain what you want to me, please ? I could take a screenshot if you want. - Viper

Got some screenshots. First one is edited with Photoshop. Enhanced colours and enhanced blur on top of the post processing. Second one straight from ArmA. Original pictures 1280x1024, high quality. These are 800x640, 8/12 Image quality from Photoshop, JPG. Enjoy. System specs; AMD Athlon 64 3800+ @ 2640 Mhz 4x512MB RAM DDR400 - 2-3-5-2-1T ASUS 7600GT @ 595/1630 MSI K8N Neo4-F - Viper
