Thanks for the great server Team ToasT, I've had some enjoyable games in there! :)

Multiplayer - High Ping problem, need Help
CorlanMcD replied to fallaura's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I'm having this same exact problem, I would like to know why it's doing this! -
Awesome videos Richiespeed and Litos! Keep em coming.
-
Richiespeed, who created the ArmAII user videos thread (and has some great videos himself!), has a video with 1700 AI, it's incredible.

The same here. This mod was a disappointing choice for me. Disabled. Just zoom in! Anyway, this mod is awesome, and works in MP just fine.
-
Hey, I just can't get ArmA to work with this mod of yours; I keep getting the following errors: a. "no entity 'bin\config.cpp.ControllerSchemes' b. "error compiling pixel shader PSSpecularAlpha I can't start the game with it. I'm using the mod folder technique, do I have to overwrite? NEVERMIND! Newest version works perfectly.
-
Yea, its pretty ridiculous... even in the whole photo (you only showed a part), how'd the sniper get on the roof! I remember watching an ArmA video on YouTube showcasing usable elevators...
-
Is it me, or does some 1.8 servers show a red X by them and report a "bad server version?"
-
I'd hate to see BF2's squad system in ArmA. Imagine the squad leader staying back, using himself as a mobile spawn for his teammates? The system might work n BF2, but lets make it stay there. If anything, only parachuting in would be acceptable.

wow, awesome concept. Downloading now!

That's what I explained in my post. You get a ton of threads in which most is IRRELEVANT to what you want. Searching just finds relevant words in any thread it can find, given a certain criteria - doesn't mean it is going to give you what you want. It may give you what you want sometimes but its a 50/50, maybe 25/75 toss up. Monty, don't know if you're being sarcastic or just being an annoyance, you obviously know what I meant by "seach." I don't think it would have been that hard to figure out that it was a typo and I meant "search."
-
I love it when people say "seach!," but at least you gave a useful link in your post. Usually, searching just gives you a crapwide list of threads in which most may be not necessarily useful.

Wow, can I have the 2 minutes of my life back watching that really crappy film clip?

I find the GPS extremely useful, especially for aircraft navigation and the occasional "where am I" on foot.

That was a very lame thing to say, and doesn't even contribute; I wonder if you even read Heatseeker's argument. Anyway, I have to agree, I find it mind blowing that an RPG can take out an M1A1 with about two hits, but I guess thats due to mainstream balancing. Helo's are guaranteed death traps, the life span of an average pilot is a few minutes in Berzerk. Luckily though, we have the addon community and they'll hopefully fix things.

Authentic sound & weapon Mod
CorlanMcD replied to ThePredator's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Well Predator, I had to log in just to say that you did a great job on the sound pack, in fact, I prefer it over FDF's. I can't vouch for authenticity, but everything sounds in order. By the way, do M4's really make that "pop" sound? -
All these previews are the same... Atleast we got a new screenshot from the mag.
-
Get this man the MP demo quick! Before he passes out!.
-
? I only see Night Vision...
-
After seeing a few VBS1 vids... I hope UAV, and the ability to drive cars in and out of transport vehicles/aircrafts.
-
Looks like ArmA is coming along just fine.
-
hmmwv, don't you think you're being a tad too pickey?

In my opinnion dynamic destruction doesn't neccessarily need any physical calculation at all. Maybe a little for the projectiles causing the destruction in the first place and for the particle effects (like smoke and debris) but no rigid body simulation. Here's a couple clips of how it is in Söldner in case some people haven't played it: http://youtube.com/watch?v=2TanNGdwIeE http://youtube.com/watch?v=fJu5aA4l6VU The destruction in Soldner isnt really dynamic, we can recreate that in ArmA if we build houses from different objects (some problems will show up, but with some creativity we can handle that) I dont think we need full on dynamic destruction, I think Soldner's way is fine. Agreed. Soldner's way was a simple process, which worked for everyone. No complex physics or anything, plain and simple. And, it worked great in Soldner as well. Question, are the trees able to be knocked down like in Soldner? Like if you shot a tank shell at a tree or at the base, the tree would collapse. It was always cool in soldner to be able to shoot down trees to spot people in forests easier, to smash buildings with, or ultimate humiliation (death by tree). Soldner had some excellent concepts and did a lot of things that other games didn't. Too bad that Wings (devs) didn't have a lot of funding.

Agreed. BF2 artillery was a workable chioce, for once.
