Do you know the weight in grains of those pellets? Sounds like a awful high chamber-preassure to achieve that velocity considering a normal 9x19 FMJ 115 grain bullet travels at around 1200fps (depending on barrel length). Probably around 8-10 grains? Capable of around 30J? Â I'm not sure you get what i'm talking about. The pellet gun i'm reffering to uses air power to propel a 4.5mm cone shaped peice of metal Pic Here

They're probably doing it for the intimidation value. Smaller some countries would be scared to go up against the worlds largest of anything. The US navy will still rule the seas with quality, not quantity.
