As my first foray into OFP addon creation I've been working on editing an existing addon to add a machine gun. I got permission, before the cynics form their oppinions, from the author to edit his Ural motorcycle with sidecar. The modern, real, version of the vehicle can mount a machine gun or missile launcher, the original addon had neither. I'm aiming at getting the machine gun working at least. I've been experimenting and I get an error when attempting to use the armed motorcycle in-game, but not if I reconfigure it as an armed jeep (though this introduces other issues). The error: The bike: (It's also being retextured and the model is being overhauled.)

Looks awesome, I've been waiting for this baby. It's been posted here that this isn't an '82 version, what does the website mean by "Modern Variant"? If "modern" is supposed to indicate that it's an improved version then is it post-1982? Wouldn't it have the BERP blade tips if it is? Most often that's because they're the wrong dimensions or in the wrong format. The dimensions were commented on above and targa or gif are the most common formats used when converting to pac or paa. There's a thread in the Addons discussion section about how to make addons, I'm pretty sure there are a number of links there. You'll probably want to check those out.

Well, if O2 won't open them they're ODOL, if it will, they're MLOD. There are programs for converting them (though they don't work all that well), you can find them with the search function.

This issue has been around for a while; I've seen it on hangars and other such buildings. If you get in a vehicle inside the hangar, the entering animation will jump up to the roof, above the landcontact lod which includes the roof. Since it's been around for a while and I've seen no solution, I have a feeling that it can't be solved. I've got an airplane with a ladder,so I made the top of the plane solid for walking on, but when getting in the plane the soldier appears above the plane while entering, as usual. Any thoughts? Maybe if I put a small hole in the roof of the landcontact lod above where they enter the planem (pos driver)?

No, neither of you are right. It's a bug with roadway LODs above entrance points. It's not a matter of the pilot recognizing anything, it's that the game has a bug that moves the player model up above the highest roadway for the duration of the getin animation. I was talking about existing hangar addons. As an example, I have the kalighat island, it includes the AGS industrial objects and the AGS Harbour pack. With these packs is a hangar, the doors open. Drive anything inside, get out, get in, and watch as you momentarily appear on the roof.Since this is a game engine bug, and I gave up on it a week ago, this is fairly irrelevant. edejl, if you make your own thread people are more likely to look at it. Or you could even look at the commented configs from BIS.

What about a parachute re-skin/design?

There is a steerable parachute addon. I don't recally where I last saw it, but some checks around the larger addon sites should turn it up. It was blue though, and not round, unlike a regular army paradrop type parachute. -
Just remember to have a roadway LOD with a selection named the same as the visible animated ramp, if people are going to be walking on this. I messed up the ramp on my plane at first with the roadway selections; I could walk up when the ramp and doors were closed, but not when they were open.

Probably meant that oxygen will do them on its own, without TexView.

Make sure you have at least three, and at most four, vertices selected. Also, press W after making the face to check that it is facing the right direction.

There is also png2pac, or something similar, which apparently does the conversion better. There is a thread in one of the Breathe sections concerning it. There's also a thread or two concerning the magic errors.

Try using the configuration program to turn off the new features. I installed DXDLL and had to turn off the features, since my video card simply can't run them. Just got it for the framerate counter (until I can upgrade).
