As I live in New Zealand, I would have to disagree here. While I'm sure most of the police are fine, there are plenty of ones you don't want to cross, and the Armed Offenders Squad have a habit of being a bit heavy handed. A few months back the Armed Offenders Squad was called out because a man who I vaguley know had not been taking his drugs (anti-physcotic ones) but he was still a very calm and mellow person, and not one to cause violence. Despite this fact the Armed Offenders squad fired tear gas into his house and then dragged him off and later claimed that firearms were involved, when in fact it was only the police that had guns. Another problem is when the riot squad gets involved in disputes. There was a lot of trouble back in the 80's and even in recent times. For example, to break up a noisy party composed mainly of young people they brought in the riot squad. Still, most police probably are good people and good police officers.

US declares ceasefire in Falluja Perhaps things are not going as smoothly as planned and the US has decided it might be wiser to talk this out?

Hyk modern u.s. infantry pack released
Col. Kurtz replied to hyakushiki's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
This is very good I have been waiting for a modern US Army Infantry pack for quite so time, and this looks to be of very good quality. -
Very interesting that this topic came up, as the same topic with the same link came up on another forum I visit just yesterday. As I said on that forum, the pictures make you realise a bit more clearly the affects of nuclear disasters, and how much of the world could end up being like that if a nuclear war took place.

From the beloved BBC comes-'Bush wants to know the facts about WMD's in Iraq' Wow, I thought he already knew the facts about Iraq's WMD's before he invaded...
-
*Evil Voice* Exxxcelant... Good to see the NZ military be given a bit more representation for Flashpoint. With that Australia and NZ map been made, I'll soon be able to launch operations into Australia to liberate Australians from the oppression of the Liberal Party and being so good at sports.
-
In terms of assualt rifles, I know they use 7.62mm G-3's and AK-47's.
-
Even Powell isn't too sure about WMD's in Iraq anymore

I had a problem quite similar to your's a few months back. My computer was running very slow, espicially the internet. I couldn't send emails either. What was happening was when I got on the internet my computer was trying to upload huge amounts of data constantly, thankfuly my ISP was blocking it from going anywhere. In the end it did turn out to be a virus, a worm of some kind. I can't remember exactly what was used to remove it (a friend did it for me), but I think he got the program from the Norton website that was specifically designed to kill that virus.

Just as an interesting fact, I live around 5km south from where Ricahrd Pearse was supposed to have made his famous flight. I personally believe he did fly before the Wright Brothers, but hey, for today who cares. We should focues more on how far powered flight has come in the last hundred years. From flimsy slow contraptions to sleek beasts cabable of flying at a speed of a few thousand km a hour and the ability to bomb places we have never heard of with a devestating arsenal of weaponary. Then theres the bright side like the fact that any one point in the one is less than 48hours flight from another.

The BBC story I saw stated it was US Forces, the video clip afterwards was of Iraqi police engaged in a gunbattle.

That was the House Select Committe on Assassinations. It ran from between 1976 and 1979. It had three directors (first two resigned) and the last director was only interested in brining out a politically correct report and keeping things within budget. The HSCA pretty much came to the same conclusion as the Warren Commission, Oswald killed the President from the 6th floor of the Texas Book Depository, and the 'magic bullet' was truthful. It major veriation was stating that one shot was fired from in front of the President's Limo from the Grassy Knoll. This was based on audio evidence.
-
Funny this topic comes up; I just finished a 16-page essay on the assassination for school. Both sides of the fence have very convincing arguments but I tend to side with the idea of conspiracy, although a lot of conspiracy theories tend to a bit dodgy. When it comes down to Oswald, the real question is: Would have a reason to shoot the President? One thing that is taken for granted by both conspirators and non-conspirators however is that the film JFK was not very truthful and relies too much on the Garrison story.

Not a bad collection at all... Seems they guy has a bit of a fetish with shells and rocket/missile launchers. We should find out where he keeps his stash and make off with it. Denoir can have the Swedish flag.

Iraqi Lt. Col. claims that he supplied the '45minutes to launch WMD' claim WMD's launched from RPG launchers?
-
Standard journalistic ignorance, I wouldn't stress over it. Â Well according to that article, it was the US Lt. Colonel saying that Bradleys responded with 120mm gun fire. Either a journalist didn't hear him right/changed things around or that US Lt. Colonel needs to learn more about US military equiptment.
-
Bit of a tangle in Iraq 'Bradley fighting vehicles responded with 120mm tank rounds and 25mm cannon fire'

I went to an army disposals shop today to get some boots (Swiss army ones, excellant buy at $30NZ) but of course I had to pick up a few other items. Got at a British Target Figure11 for a good price of $14.95 and two imitation of what I believe to be 5.56mm rounds. Plenty of other good items to buy, but I do have some self control so I left before I could go crazy.
-
I would imagine that it carries a bit more than chaff, I would add flares plus the most high-tech jamming-counter-measure device/s that money can buy. Probably look a bit bad if one Iraqi farmer managed to take out Air Force One, then you'd get all the conspiracy theorists jumping in and claiming it was really an attack by the Martians. Was quite a good idea however, makes good TV and I'm sure mindless zombies all over the world will be overwhelmed by the heorism of George W. Bush, our lord and saviour venturing into the badlands were major combat operations were supposed to have ended months ago...

I think of true patriotism as love of ones land, the place where they were born and grew up. The place that is something special to them, and a place they are willing to defend to keep it the way they like it. Example, I was born in New Zealand, have grown up in New Zealand, and would defend New Zealand from foriegn invasion. Don't like the government and don't like quite a few of the people here, but I like the fact that it's a place that I can call home. So in my opinion, patriotism is sort of a territorial thing, my land, I like it, stay off it! (of course your welcome to visit it, just leave the military hardware at home )

To add to that, death toll is 17 and there are reports that one was shot down by a rocket or missile and hit the other chopper, not one chopper rose to avoid gunfire and hit the other. The BBC says Iraqi eye witnesses reported a rocket/missile strike but US military officials are keeping quite, while another news site reckons both Iraqi eye witnesses and US military officials are saying one was shot down and hit the other. Bless the media!

I've got a few things. -An East German Ushanka -Trench-coat from the German 5th Panzer division I think -A good old German army coat, very warm -Ex Australian military beret -Ex Australian Army Cadet uniform -2 pairs of Australian Army boots -NZ Army badge -Ex NZ Army rain coat -A pair of ex-NZ Army pants -Royal Artillery badge (was given to me by a military enthuist, don't know about its authenticacy though) -.303 shell casings from rounds produced in 1943 (my father has the SMLE Mk.III that fired them which I will inherit at a later date) In recent times I've picked up a Vietnam era Australian 300 round 7.62mm ammo tin and last weekend I brought a WW2 medal for service in the NZ military between 1939-1945. -Probably a few other items that has slipped my mind I would have more if I had inherited my grandfathers stuff when he died, but I think it ended up with my fathers cousin.

If the modified OFP engine for OFP2 could do ragdoll physics without slowing down the game too much (could be an option perhaps for those with slower machines) it would be a crime not to implement them. The implementation of ragdoll physics and just physics in general is the path many new games are taking and I think OFP2 should be included. Could really improve the game and would bring an end to seeing the same death animation over and over again, and would stop the 'head through the wall'.

High detail weaponpack v1.1 released!
Col. Kurtz replied to InQUisiToR's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Would be nice to have some new weapons such as the PKM and Draganov.
