Oleg has said that the height limitation will be adressed in their next sim, and rumor has it it will either feature the Mediterranean Theatre or the Battle of Britain . PS, about wanting to increase map size...are you mad?!? The map of Leningrad/Findland takes up about 512 RAM by itself! <span id='postcolor'> I know and understand that, but still... the less limitations, the better It would be nice to see a good modern Western Front game after Micro$oft Combat Flight Simulator 3 turned out to be such a dud. The Mediterranean Theatre could be interesting... I have never played a game set there (besides 12'oclock high, but that was a strategy game) and fighting in the Siege of Malta could be quite spectacular. As for the map sizes, if EAW could have the whole of Western Europe running at one time, and CFS3 could have the whole of Western Europe running at one time, why not IL2? (that would be the whole of Eastern Europe). Hopefully for the next big Oleg Maddox flight sim... By that time hopefully most people will have at least 512mb of ram.

Above 10000 meters, you're in outer space .<span id='postcolor'> Yeah, it's pretty crazy. Once I flew off the map to see what would happen. It's a bit like OFP. You don't hit an invisible barrier or anything, but the landscape becomes very blurry. It is a pitty, because the IL2 engine would be good for a Western front mod if only there wasn't such height limitations and map width limiatations. Imagine European Air War with better graphics, more realism, a mission builder and improved Dynamic campaign. And more planes.

Complaining about the fact that the Pilots lounge was shut down or 2). Complaining that their favourite plane isn't good enough or that the other planes are too good. It's one of those forums that is ok to read, but I wouldn't post there. Very much like the DoD forums. *Edit-I'll report back when I have tried this utility whether it works or not* Right, I have tried it out. It is easy to use, but unfortunetely you have to manually add your kill and medal markings. You have to edit the skin you use and add your stars/crosses/lines/Hero of the Soviet Union yourself. Still pretty good. Oh yeah, you can add 'for the Motherland' and 'for Stalin' (in Russian) on your plane too, so with this tool, you can make quite a historically correct paint job.

I also think they should have included a German Fighter pilot career. And they should have added an AI that could bomb right... One of the coolsest features of it was with the patch, kill and mission markers came up on your plane. It was just a nice, historically correct feature to have little bombs painted underneath the cockpit. I wish they would do it for FB.

H&d 2 preview in next uk pc-gamer issue

One of the great things about the first game was the vehicle's, whether it was a tank or a river boat with an MG mounted on it, they were fun to use. Last I saw H&D 2 is going to include flyable planes, so that should be interesting

Didn't they realize that their BMP was wrong when they looked at in the game?<span id='postcolor'> They do know that it is out of porpotion but I suppose they have better things to do than go around resizing vehichles. Here is the thread about the BMP To show just how out of porportion the BMP is, check page 2 with the photo comparing the real BMP to the OFP BMP.

H&d 2 preview in next uk pc-gamer issue

I can remember reading a preview of H&D 2 in the December 2000 edition of  UK PC Gamer, back when H&D 2 was supposed to come out in 2001 Anyway, I do look forward to playing H&D 2, the first game was excellant and H&D 2 is set to do far better. Let's just hope it doesn't turn into another Duke Nuken (taking) Forever. Now that Illusion have finsihed making Mafia and Vietcong, they should be able to focus more on getting H&D 2 out so we can run around listening to the cries of 'Englander!'

You just need to learn the art of leaving your computer on all night downloading. When the IL-2 demo first came out back in that fateful September of 2001, I was on 56k. I wanted the demo so badly that I slept to the sound of my computer to get it, and it was worth it. Now I know that the IL2 Campaign Generator has been mentioned before, but I suggest you go and check out here. It has been released for FB, and by the sounds of it, it is better than the dynamic campaign generator for FB. The standard FB Dynamic Campaign Generator works at tactical level, and the war is only really waged on a tactical level. With IL2 Gen, it is on a strategic level and it's an improved system. I am going to try it out now.

According to the Iraqi government, the farmer shot it down with a pistol Other Apache pilots however said that they came across heavy AA fire.

    Tales of war

Dispatches was very good. It's done by Vietnam War journalist Michael Heer and it's all about his experiances fron the war. Talking to an American Colonel who thinks the war could be ended by dropping Piranahs on the paddy fields of North Vietnam and lots of other interesting things. First hand accounts of the siege of Khe San etc. etc.

Well I am back and have fiddled around with FB, and I must say I like what I see. It is cool now that there is more tree's, and I like the water effects and all the other new things. I am a bit dissapointed that they haven't fixed the kill system though, I think if you force a pilot to crash land his plane, thats a kill. If a planes on the ground and you strafe and blow a wing off, thats a kill (but should be added to your ground kills, not air kills). Anyway, its all lovely. Am waiting forward to all the planes that shall be implemented in future patches.
