why did you use your username

Back in school I managed to bring down the entire network in the IT block by tampering with my workstation. Â A lot of students lost their unsaved work. Â Only me and a friend knew I had done it. Â He said I was a regular Cybergangster... 'Bout 2 months later our school got online (1994) and I decided to use it in my first chat room (sierra.com I think)... The rest is history.

Oh, this is real sweet. I just went to puchase a download version from CM and they only have the CD-ROM available!!! Way to try and squeeze a couple of extra pounds out of us CM!!!

I tried that, it turned nasty when I climbed too late and made like a bulldozer through the ground...

I know I'm beating a dead horse but I think you missed my point. I never said I'd download a fix for the car. I said I'd pick up the parts for the factory outlet. I used this example to show that it would cost me a) petrol and b) time. To download a patch it costs me a) internet time (which we have to pay for in the UK) and b) time. Are we clear on that?

    Ground Attach II

Funny, I finished this mission with ease the first time I did it. The 2nd, 3rd, 4td.... 20th... it was harder than I first thought. I found a gunho approach works best. Â Switch weapons to FFAR and switch to manual fire. Â Fly up the road about 20ft above the ground directly at the convoy. Â Then fire like mad, just make sure your last shot hits the Shilka (always the last in the convoy). Â Then make another pass and clean off any strays. Â About then switch to 30mm cannon and disable manual fire. Â Let your gunner deal the business to the Hind (I've never had trouble with the SU25) and then remove the last of the convoy. Â Head back to base and watch the sunset with a cool glass of root beer. Â (Edited by Cybergangster at 11:12 am on Nov. 23, 2001)

You know, it does pay to read posts before you reply with verbal vomit.  No one has complained about having to download.  We've just pointed out it would  be nice to recieve a CD with patches. BUT, before you flame me again, remember I've already given in to the dark side of the force. Oh, and I will take you up on that CD when we recieve the last official patch. - Malboeuf THANK YOU! At last, an intellectual, thought out answer. Pitty you had to degrade yourself with the 'get a life' comment. But on the upside you have convinced me that perhaps I am expecting too much. I do still feel robbed at the fact that I must download two patches to get up to date but alas, if this were a perfect world...

Phew, thank you Projekt K for taking time to read my post and answer with some thought. There seems to be a problem on this forum that there are too many angry teenagers who are just looking for a chance to flame. I too have costly dial-up from home. To my consession I do have broadband access at work which works fine for me to obtain the updates when they arrive. Now, I have not suggested that BIS replace the free downloads with an update CD. Certainly keep the updates available online for free downloads. But as a bonus for users who take the time to register send out a CD as well. It doesn't have to be a CD containing every update. It could be one CD released with all of the updates when CM releases Red Hammer??? Mr Laggy - Sierra have a policy with the Half-Life updates where they release a "mini update" which goes from the most recent version to the current and they also release a full patch which updates from version 1.0 (I think the latest FULL patch is 80Mb). Is it so hard for BIS to take similar action? As for my question on why OFP was released 3 months early in Europe - any answers??
