Standart Su25 updated by TomiD
Capitaine Haddock replied to TomiD's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Excellent! Top job indeed. The wheels sticking out of the old BIS model really annoyed me. Thanks a lot! -
Blimey! You are too kind! Thanks so much for the hard work

Excellent addon! I'm having a blast flying the Sukhoi at tree top height burners full on. The Su-17/22 has been one of my favourite attack planes of all time. Thanks for bringing us this new version! Can I just make two small suggestions, please? 1 - Could the camera view zoom properly with the + and - keys? At the moment it only zooms back, not forwards 2 - Could you rename it with the proper soviet designation, Su-17? Â Sorry, I know I'm not the only one moaning about this tiny detail (what a bunch of anal-retentive guys we are, aren't we) Â Oh look, a nice cammo

Mi-26 "Halo" and soviet pilot pack relased
Capitaine Haddock replied to DPS -CCCP-'s topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
So true. This helicopter is a true achievement. Thanks to the dev team for the long hours (and I'm sure long evenings) working on this addon. We truly appreciate your hard work. -
So true. A sci-fi theme would kill the game. OFP is about using tactics and weapon systems as you expect in reality. Things are not 100% relalistic, but at least you know than an Apache will perform more or less as expected, and a AP round will do the job is meant to do. That's what helps balancing the game in a natural way. Technology from the year 2100 would only open Pandora's box and kill the balance through an infinite succession of silly new weapons, counter-weapons, counter-counter-weapons, etc. Maybe good material for a pre-pubertal arcade console game, but nothing that fits OFP's ethos.

Agreed. One thing I wish is a campaign playable from both sides, as flightsims have been doing for years (EEAH, EECH, IL2). And even better is all missions can be played in coop games. In that context a China vs US conflict could also work very well. Perhaps not as balanced as a US vs CCCP war scenario, but a lot more adequate than US vs N.Korea.

Blimey! Those new pics are great. Thanks for the hard work Pupsi. You've done a brilliant island. How hard would it be to have actual village names from the real Anjou? It'll be great to see villages like Grézillé (my grandad had the local Café during the war), Saint Clément des Levées, Les Rosiers sur Loire, Saint Martin de la Place, or even Saumur for the big town. I'll be more than happy to model the road signs if you need them (I work with Max and Photoshop) and I'm sure Subfaction won't mind giving me a hand with the export tools... ;)

I wonder where does that myth come from... In the EU you are not ruled by other countries in the same way Oregon is not ruled by Florida. How things have changed? Well... I think going form a full-war scenario to a common market, freedom of movement and international common law says it all. The Constitution is just the next logical step in a long chain of changes.
-
As a Frenchman born in Spain and living in the UK, what can I say... I feel my country is the EU and it's about time we have a Constitution and a President. Good thing is that I'm completely convinced that it's just a question of time. It might take 10, 20 or 50 years, but the EU will become a single country eventually. Just think of how much things have changed in the last 60 years...

I just had a couple of games this week in this island and it's brilliant for tanks! The rolling landscape makes it perfect for hit and hide tactits, and the density of vegetagion and buildings makes it really tough for finding the enemy. You learn the hard way how well the cammo of a Panzer works!

Have you seen the "screenshot of the week" at http://ofp.gamezone.cz ? They've got the Ferret! http://ofp.gamezone.cz/screenshots/sotw.jpg Funny thing is that there's no mention in the news. Is it just a sneaky preview? Who is putting it in the game? Hmm... Le Capitaine scratches his head  Need to talk to Oberon... -
Airwolf mod's updated hughes 500 pack (v1.7)

Ohhh more choppers. Is it me or is OFP the best Helo-sim ever? Dowloading right now. Thanks guys. Much appreciated. -
I somehow like the DAP to be the 1st chopper to fly. It's very handy for cleaning up the area around the first few groups. Then I land and swap choppers. Or you could get your co-pilot to fly it and scort you while you board a transport chopper. The littlebitd is also great for quick hit-and-run missions. Quite a punch for such a small thing!
-
Indeed. A Nam choplifter would be most welcome. "ChickenLifter"? "We likesss to fly missionsss" Â
-
Wow... Nice mission I've been waiting for this type of missions since the game was released. I like the feeling of lying over a living island. Thanks a lot!
-
Wow. A few days away from the OFP websites and look what was I missing Thanks for the update. Downloading right now. Ahh.. du beau boulot. Merci les gars!

That's looking great! That opened front hatch was really a surprise. Very nice job, Blackdog. Good to know the Ferret is now in your hands -
Good idea. It'll be great to link it to some artillery or close air support scripting.

Very nice Doolittle. I'm well impressed with how much this is changing the game. And how much it builds on the strenghs of it. Suddendly the whole island becomes alive in a single mission. Just a couple of questions: 1- Could the vehicles stay longer? They currently get distroyes if you leave them for a long time (as you say in the readme file) but the time is too short if you want to capture a town slowly. When you go back to your precious hidden car is not nice to see it broken... specially with a long walk back home. 2- Could your magic be used to create random SP or Coop missions? A random base for each side. Random vehicles for each side. AI deffends. Player/s attack (or even the other way around). To me this is the big missing thing in OFP. Thanks again for the mission

Keep the faith guys! On friday Oberon showed me the interior model and it looks extremely cool Â
-
Just a quick update... Oberon has been quite busy at work (long evenings and weekends) and on top of that he's been away for a couple of weeks (summer hols). Las time I saw the Ferret the only bit left was the interior textures. I think... I may see him tomorrow. Time to kick him back to work! I can't wait for the Ferret myself
-
Sorry but I disagree. OFP is whatever you want. A tanksim, a choppersim, a flightsim, a Jeepsim... ;) It's obviously not a very good flightsim when using fast jets, but aircraft like the Bronco are really good fun when helping your mates on the ground. And above all OFP is the best Helicoper sim out there. Nothing gets even close. Not even LB2 and EECH. They might have nice accurate avionics and weapon systems, but they lack the landscape detail, true feeling of "being there", and Multiplayer possiblilities of OFP.

Same here. I've seen those BAS guys healing themselves quite a few times. It's quite a silly thing to see: You shoot once, they guy kneels down to heal, you shoot him again, he kneels down again... and so on untill you decide to put a whole clip on the bugger. And I'm pretty sur the BAS units have stronger armor. I just don't use them anymore in CTF or DM games.
