Great pics guys :) It's really good to see you on ArmA2 Tank Commander, those screenies are beau-ti-ful ! Do you have some sort of album where we could see your work ? -
Well I know it's more an anti-war speach but it's quite fascinating to know it has been written more than 60 years ago. Looks like the world hasn't change in 60 years 5IvPIWzQcUY

ARMA 2 Adult content
Macadam Cow replied to ARGold's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
In my opinion I think you're wrong here. It has real consequences because the mind behind the screen is real. No doubt it has nothing to compare with real life, but it has an influence. and in my opinion this influence will grow up with photo realistic games, especially on kids. Playing violent games does not make you more violent but they do desensitize to violence (all my sources are in french I'll try to find some in english). This doesn't mean we're completly desensitize nor we're all desensitize to violence in the same way. But even if it only seriously affects 1% of the population it's enough for me to say no. Because this percent might do horrible things and harm hundreds of "normal" people. I'm not sure about that, you mean killing virtual people would prevent some of us to do it in real life ? Just take the example of porn, it's not because you're surfing on porn website that you dont want to have sex after, to the contrary ! If you have a desire in real life it will never be satisfied by virtuality Indeed but maybe we should find this before releasing more and more violent games. I mean mankind always behave like that, acting then thinking about the consequences of his acts, because there are always unplanned consequences caused by a lack of thinking. In my opinion exploring our darkiest side on a video game will not makes us better, will not delete our "bad" desires, it will just show us that, in a way, it is possible. underwear, really ? Some sort of transparent underwear then  http://i414.photobucket.com/albums/pp226/BloodnGuts/divers/arma22009-07-2504-41-13-97.jpg -

ARMA 2 Adult content
Macadam Cow replied to ARGold's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Well, IMO, right now, adults content could be "allowed", but what about tomorrow ? I mean take a game like State of Emergency by Rockstar. In this game you can kill hundreds of civilians (it's not the purpose but you can). It's not quite shocking because there's a cartoon-like graphics style. So as soon as you start the game you know it has nothing to do with reality. But what about ArmA3, CoD11,... ? Those games will more likely tend to be photo realistic. Will it still be fun to shoot an AI if it (he?) looks like a real person ? If he behaves like a real person, if he cries, bleed,...like a real person ? I think games have reach a turning point. And WE, consumers, will decide where we want them to go. The only fact it offers a new expericence does not justify we make fun (coz we will) of slavery, rape or gore. Maybe it's time for us to think a bit about the influence games can have on us. We all know more sensitive of us have already done really bad things trying to recreate what they've seen in a movie or in a video game. Do you really think those "new gaming experiences" will improve the way we live in real life ? Do you really think it will have NO impact on younger players ? Because this is a fact, we've failed at controlling sellings of video games. How many teens play GTA4 ? Do you think it will get any better with the improvement of internet ? Do you think illegal downloading will magically be reduced in the future ? 10 years ago we could have required such a thing but in my opinion now it's too late, we can't let video games become some kind of dirty art where all our nastier desires will become true. Well that's my opinion PS : please excuse my local english -

What ??? No porn ??? What about placebo's avatar ??? This picture turns a lot of people on  Copy that EDIT : Is in-game porn allowed ? http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w312/lethalSakura/pervert.jpg (in-game pic) I know that's a completly different subject but this picture makes me wonder, where's the limit ? Would it be allowed to see 2 AIs having sex ? -

well...ok :icon_wink: IMO it's sad to avoid such a subject because it is full of strong emotions. Whatever the forum it seems it's impossible to talk about it and I'm wondering to who benefits this. Im not sure it's us. Which event in the history of the mankind was better to not be discussed ? But I perfectly understand you're point and I respect it, I wont create any thread. Thanks for your answer. -

Hi, I would like to know if I was allowed to create a thread about a documentary I've seen last year about 9/11, it's called ZERO, investigation into 911. This documentary does not support the official version, Im not saying it shows the truth, Im not saying it is full of lies. I just think it's worth watching. I've been looking for a thread about 9/11 and I could only find this one which is now closed. Couldn't find any about this documentary. I know this is a very sensitive subject (that's why Im asking), I don't want to offense anyone but as I said I just think this documentary is worth watching. Thank you -
I think there's a FLIR on the UAV

hmmm, looks like another hollywoodian war movie with super hero running in slomo with huge explosions behind him, then someone dies and theres a sad song, blablabla...Since I saw generation kill (for me the perfect mix between reality and drama) I know there's another way to show the war, without slomo, with music, without heroes. IMO those kind of movies shows a lack of respect for soldiers, the best survives the rest die. well that's just my opinion...

A lollypop with GOTCHA writed on it ? It's not fanboyism, I don't want ArmA2 to be better than OFP2, it's just that it's really hard for me to believe them when they claim : "OFP2 will offers the most realistic military experience of 2009" There are just so many disturbing details, I need to see it to believe it. That's all

uhm, Im not sure what you're trying to tell me, are you saying consoles players are dum...uhm euh have simpler expectations than pc players ? Still, even if they're mostly aiming at consoles players, I don't like the way they're communicating. I mean they exactly get the result they expected : confusion. If you take that artillery video on Youtube, most of the time it is tagged as "ingame". And when you try to say to people that CM said it was pre-rendered most of the time the only answer you got is :"GTFO" or "Ur gay" And I can't believe peoples won't figure it out before they buy the game. I think it's pathetic from a big studio like CM.

@Sakura_Chan Great pic (over 100Kb wtf !), moderators should use it ! -
That's right but we do know how Codemaster works. I could understand earlier pre-rendered trailers but when I saw the one with arty striking a village down the valley (remember ? everything in that trailer makes you think you're seing ingame footage, which is false) It was like if codemaster was saying : We lie to you (and we hope dumbest of you won't notice before the game is released) I know the game is not out yet, but with their strange ads policy I just can't think this will be as good as they claim. I hope I'm wrong cause Im sure another great milsim would raise up the level of ArmA itself even more. Sorry for my local english
