He did mention the scripts and bits so if he likes the editing aspect of things, go get it boy. I am somewhat ashamed to say that I rarely play on-line and only now and again the campaigns but I have a deep love/hate relationship with the editor. Just for that reason alone its worth the £$€s. Queens Gambit has some interesting elements and should not be missed. 2008 ! Who said that ?

Referring to my post in the trouble shooting forum... Hi peeps... I've been having crashes, somewhat similar to those described above, this is the first time I've had any real problems with ArmA. The problem is that I changed my GPU and added a GO of ram just before the 1.14 release, so I was at a loss as to where the problem came from... I have been using the Nvidia 175.16 drivers. In desperation I installed the drivers that came with my new  Leadtek 8800gt, the 169.2 and lo & behold the problems have ceased... I'm running every thing on high except PP and Blood  . View distance about 2500 m. 24 hours no crashing (never crashed in the editor btw). I hope I'm not putting the horse before the gate ! I will get back if need be. Thanks 8800gt, E8400, 3go of ram and XP SP3. I've also had a "Video driver is no longer responding message". The screen shots posted in this thread are exactly the same that I experienced before stepping back my driver. I will repeat that I have not had a crash since I installed the drivers that came with the video card. I've fixed my crash problems by changing drivers. Thanks...

Hi, I'm new to this ArmA game so I think its a good idea simply because trying to find out which missions are the most appreciated is not an easy task. I will submit my first ever mission just to give you something to work with . No problem if it gets buried deep down the list. Thanks...

I've got QG and I've got the mission. Very good they are indeed. The crackling fire sounds continue long after the fire has died down concerning the first Shilka destroyed. This mission has given me hope for my second (WIP, QG only) effort using the ArmA editor, thanks.

If there is a feedback thread... Who knows !

This is a must have, it always bugged me that I could climb over low walls but got blocked by a fence. Using mouse scroll player action is fine by me and works well. I've just "thrown" the pbo in the main AddOnns folder, was that a wise thing to do? I ask because I've got the mission making disease at the moment and would like to keep things as clean as possible. Love it...

Great news, thanks...

Defiantly running better than previous versions, all beta patches included. I would just like to ask a question... I've spent the last while building a mission using QG assets with Vs1.12 (silly me ). It seems that to continue with 'said' mission I have to load up Vs.1.12 (which works fine btw). Is there any way to just throw something into my AddOns or whatever to get the 'said' mission to work with QG Vs1.14 ? Back on subject, I noticed that before when flying towards a City but looking behind, lods or textures would be slow to load, in the same circumstances looking forwards, the same textures would load "normally". This seems to have improved with the update Vs1.14. Excuse my English, I'm English . Good game, very good update. E6400 + 3go ram + 8800gt + X-Fi Gamer

That looks really good. Well done.

Thanks for the advice snafu, at the moment I have no idea how to do camera work. I put the mission up for download because I really needed to look at other aspects of the editor. I now use a test map to try out things to see if they work. I've been taken completely by surprise by the passion I have for this editor. I have mucked about in other editors in the past, Hammer/Source/UTEd, this 'need to know how it works' goes back to WarCraft II Tides of Darkness. I'm aiming at 30/40 mins of game play in a mission. Thanks...

I knock timidly on the door... This is my first effort with the ArmA editor, so no Intro, no Outro, just the bit in the middle, heck, I don't even know how to "this removeAllWeapons" without getting a 'try anything expect nothing' reply. I will not be dismayed. So it needs QG + one of the patches (1.12 for example) and then hotfix_dbe1, just to get going (I think) . Order your men into the Whirlybird and don't forget to tell em "all disembark". I've gone through the mission so many times that I don't know if its good or bad. Can't see for looking, as me old Mum used to say. Single Player is, well single player. The MP has been somewhat modified. 3 teams (10+10+5), 25 slots but is not intended to be played by 25 people, there is team re-spawn implemented so you can take a look at the different aspects of the assault. I do it on a local LAN. I don't even know if it would work on zee internetz. Links http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=3086 This is the MP http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=3188&a=dl Thank you for your time and trouble, I'm of now to work on my next production (WIP) named : 0051, The Spy who Dumped Me . Forgive the errors of my youth...

Now I am intrigued, a lil'.

I've just explored the zip file. The hotfix_dbe1. pbo is in the addons folder and the hotfix_QG is in the DBE1/Addons sub folder. Both with their respective BISIGN's

I've been waiting for this. Its not easy to build a mission using only trial and error. I must admit that I've only been "playing" the editor, rather than the game itself and that for only a couple of months. My favorite phrase is  'type anything expect nothing'. Thanks, this is good news for beginners like myself...

The first thing you should look at is adding more ram. Then a video card. I have just swapped my Nv7900gs for a 8800gt and there is a marked improvement. E6400, 2 go ram, 8800gt, 22" lcd. All settings on high except post processing (low) personal preference and blood on normal or low (yuk).

Hello everybody... This is my first post here so I hope it may be of some use. I changed my 7900gs for a 8800gt yesterday 28/4. Plugged in the new card and=== nothing apart from Windows and 2D applications. Every time a tried to run a game ArmA/RO/Quake Wars the computer crashed. So I ran CrapCleaner = No go. So I ran Driver Cleaner Pro = no go. I then pulled out all the plugs and swapped lines, (the card had a feed all to its self). Guess what, every things working. When I put the computer together a while ago, on the line that had the feed for the floppy drive I naturally plugged the DD & DVD as well. False. My 7900gs worked without any problems on the 2nd line. Check it out. I have a cheap 480 PSU, which in theory is sufficient for a 8800 gt but only just. Might help, might not. Good luck.
