Replacement Tutorial - Can't Find It
BravoMike7 posted a topic in ARMA - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Sorry: Posted in the wrong forum, meant to post it in the CONFIGS AND SCRIPTING forum (had too many windows open and lost track of where i was) So sorry to post this - honestly I am - but no matter what words or phrases i put into the search on this site, armaholic, google etc, I cannot find this "replacement tutorial" that i keep reading about to help with unit replacement configs. Finding the tutorial might actually help me solve the problem I'm having. I'/m currently attempting to make one, but i keep coming across the same error - however i don't think its my little replacement setup, as every replacement file i use gets the same error. Game loads, get to the main menu and i get something about being unable to read / open the "us_soldier_officer.p3d". Happens with the majority of replacement configs ive tried to use - is this a 1.09 beta issue? As i get the same thing with 1.08 Sorry for the post thats probably already been answered guys, but ive been searching for the tutorial for a good few hours and was getting a tad frustrated. Any help for this little noob greatly appreciated. -

Can't say I've heard nor seen of a small boat with a mounted Vulcan-esque weapon and hellfire missiles Hardly realistic. Ideally, as others have stated, it would be best to have maybe one or 2 stationary large support craft off a fair distance from the island. Although remember, ArmA 2 is not on an island. So the requests for large ships and what not to be already in ArmA 2 is maybe redundant?

yeah thats definitely one area that needs a bit of touching up. Will be cool to see the finished product though mate - look forward to it

looking cool mate, but the textures on the infantry are still... i dunno how to say it? they just look a tad wrong? I dont know if the screenshots low quality but they look discoloured / stretched. if you know another aussie guy called Eagle Eye, he did a really good desert auscam mod that id recomend looking at if not asking his permission to include. but yeah as the others have said some weathered effects on the vehicles is what arma really needs - none of this "brand new off the factory floor" look everything has in game (only the civie vehicles look weathered which is a shame ) either way id say have a talk to eagle eye as he may have some good advice on how to fix up your infantry textures.

Community Sound Mod - idea
BravoMike7 replied to Blackknight.au's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
In the words of the 22SAS - "May I suggest a cup of tea?" Calm down lads. There's more important (and interesting :P) things to be arguing over on these forums. As far as i can see these guys have gone about this the right way. - Not at any point have they mislead anyone to believe they were doing anything other than what they have said straight out. - They've got permission when they needed to - They've given credit for anything they've used and / or borrowed Thus we can assume that any arguments are basically just that and have no real bearing on the mod itself, which mind you is an amazing mod. May we drop it and move on with our lives now or do we have to keep pissing until someone hits the roof? :P -
Community Sound Mod - idea
BravoMike7 replied to Blackknight.au's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
here here. thats a bit out of line TU_Gokhan - why put down a group of people working on a mod when you should be encouraging them? bit hard to criticise the idea when you havent even seen what they've done so far. as a tester for the mod so far i can safely say this sound mod has set a very high standard amongst the group of people i play with. many of us use seperate sound mods, but after trying out this one havent gone back since. the ambient noise is amazing not to mention the up close and personal sound of your own weapon and those of your friends around you. needless to say its revamped my game once again - as any great add-on should do. I used Chammy's up until now, but i wont be going back if this is any sign of whats to come from these guys. to BK and Oni, go for gold, look forward to the final product. -

Stuck on the ArmA "Recieving..." screen at startup
BravoMike7 replied to BravoMike7's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
updated again: arma stopped working shortly after that last post. i stopped playing for maybe a month or so? then was going to format again to try and get it working. i decided to give it one more try for the hell of it befor i formatted and the game worked and its still working. so i have no idea what caused this, i know if i format it fixes it, and if it breaks again i can leave it for a month or so and it works again what the hell indeed. -

ok an update: i formatted and the game worked... for about an hour. i closed it off and then went to get some lunch, came back and went to start it up to play again and i got the problem again. this is very frustrating to say the least. i'd at least like to know whats causing this issue so i know what i have to do, or if theres anything i can do at all. i have the feeling that its the hardware, however if its the hardware i fail to undsertand how the game ran fine since i had it, then died just recently and refuses to start no matter what i do. any other game i installed works fine, no worries, so its not like anythings broken or burnt out. im thinkin about going and buying a new PC box to just run arma but knowing my luck ill spend that money and then it wont run arma at all. -

nope doesn't work for me. this is getting quite depressing. i know i can fix it with a format, but chances are it will then only happen again a month or 2 later, so id love to find out whats causing this to occur -

just tried it then, and it doesn't work running out of ideas myself. ive been told it may be a registry issue - however im unsure as to how id go about looking at that. any suggestions / advice? -
Your Right, ArmA Could potentially have some potential for some serious potential for Virtual Firing Ranges But are you certain? Potentially.
