As i mentioned it's still WIP so i'm already working on adding details and stuff like that... expect another update before the end of the week...

My model is about 1350 Polys atm.... i try keep it under 2000 so there will be no performance problems with the model...

Yeah before starting any modeling always keep in mind that you keep your mesh clean and overviewable. That way it's easier to modify anything later... i had the same problems when i started modeling about 2 years ago... But keep it up buddy... learning by doing!!!

and how do i tell the soldiers to use single fire mode?

Hey guys i have a serious problem getting ai soldiers shooting at targets on a shooting range. I gave them the order "solder doTarget targetname" and then "soldier fire "weaponname"" the target is a static object placed by hand. any help really appreciated regards boomer

the doFire command does't work with stationary object targets... i'm using a simple shooting range target... tried the doFire command before and it seems not to work with objects

I already assumed that they are high poly 'cause they really look like high poly models my G36 are at 1100 polys at the moment...

Hey Gnat can you tell what the Polycount from the Krivak IV Class is? And maybe you could drop me a picture with a wireframe from it? let's see if i can save some polys on the hull of my ships and add some handtracks and some more detail stuff... regards boomer

Hey guys.... i'm currently working on the "USS Bunker Hill" a Ticonderoga Class Missile Cruiser. The modeling part is close to be finished and i'm going to make textures during the next week. Besides that a talented Texturer would be very welcome because i'm not so experienced in texturing. Additional a Scripter is needed as soon as the tools are public to port the Ship over to Armed Assault. In the first version at least the Flight Deck should be functionable to land and walk on it. Okay now enough of talking.... here are the pictures!

For example my Ticonderoga will be a static object first for fire support and helicopter operations... we'll see what comes out For real navy battles the actual maps are too small...

First off i think about ships as an operation base... Maybe if new maps are release we could realize some navy battles... Ah by the way i contacted gnat b/c he's going to port his ofp ships over to arma... maybe we can make a naval combat pack together or whatever... depends on him... regards boomer

What exactly are you going to do? Full conversion or just a bunch of addons? Can you tell us which years of the war you want to cover? regards boomer -
Yeah that's what i'm talking about... and i think it could use a little bit of encreasing the detail as Arma can handle complexer objects than flashpoint. Are you going to add more detail to the model? and textures of course...

Hey nice to see one of the BIG one's beeing converted to Arma. Even if i think that a Tarawa would be more usefull But keep it on guys! Let's bring the Navy to the game! One day we can make a Carrier Battle Group with the surface combatants i plan to make!

Great to see another naval fan in here... well as i said the first version will be a static one b/c i think the moveable version will take a lot more scripting than a the static one... And first off i need a scripter before the tools are out! And a texture artist so that i ´can concentrate on going on modeling. So if any scipter or texturer would like to help please drop me a pm!
