Is it just me? Or are trees not rendering correctly for me?
BF2_Trooper replied to BF2_Trooper's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
There was a new patch that was released this week? Keep in mind I've only had ARMA 2:CO installed in this machine for only about a week now. Come to think of it, I only started playing ARMA 2 games on that day when the trees started looking weird. This whole week I've been doing nothing but running the benchmarks and testing other games. Could it be that ATOC was only "turned on" when I actually started playing scenarios/missions? ---------- Post added at 12:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:36 AM ---------- Btw, since I only play Combined Ops, which version of the config file should i be looking for? The one in the ARMA 2 Vanilla folder? Or the one in the ARROWHEAD folder? -

Lol, I kinda like that hazy look, although it does not remind me of an early 90s erotic movie. :D Anyways, what is it that could possibly make my level of details change suddenlly when I did not make any changes to my hardware or OS at all? The trees looked perfectly fine on the first time ever I ran A2:CO and the benchmark on this new machine. -

Can you be more specific? What's the file called exactly? Is it in any particular subfolder in ARMA 2? Or just the main ARMA 2 folder? Any reason why it might be behaving like this all of a sudden? I've only run the benchmark under the same video driver. The trees actually looked fine yesterday morning, and then later the same they look like the pictures above. Did not make any changes other than increase the brightness and the gamma. -

Hey guess what? Even if that were true, people actually CHOOSE to PAY FOR and watch Fox News. And people can also choose NOT to watch it. As long as Fox News isnt being funded by the government, they have a right to say whatever they want because that's what cable subscribers pay them to do. It's called Capitalism. Love it or leave it. ---------- Post added at 12:08 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:06 AM ---------- And liberals have been doing that to George W. Bush for nearly a decade. "Daily Footage of Nazi Germany"? If you really believe that then I don't think you actually get FOX News at all of have sat down for more than 5 minutes watching it. Stop basing Glenn Beck or this network on stuff you've heard or read about from other people who are completely biased against FOX. -

No, I wouldnt be fine with CNN being unfairly treated by the justice system or being shut down just because conservatives disagree with it. What's your point exactly? -

Seriously how many times do I have to make myself clear? Have you been reading any of my comments at all? Anything to do with these bad journalists commiting illegal activities should be investigated. ---------- Post added at 09:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:53 PM ---------- None of which has anything to do with the activities of Fox News journalist. And no, I don't think that the fact that these journalist also happen to work for Rupert Morduch proves anything. -

For the second time yes. And if I or any of my fellow so-called "Rupurt Murdoch Apologists" have made comments defending said crimes, please post it. Otherwise, stop repeatadly asking if anyone's defending these crimes or not. -

No, I don't have proof of Fox being innocent of using illegal tactics, but I'm not going around making outrageous speculations about them either. ---------- Post added at 09:36 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:33 PM ---------- You may not have said that directly, but you're very much staunchly defending those who wish to see it destroyed. Shutting down a media outlet purely because you disagree agree with it's opinions is a scary thing. -

How about honestly telling me why You are so bent on seeing the demise of Fox News? I already made my opinions about the bad journalists and their activities clear - they commited crimes and should be punished for it. -

Well it is a proven fact that fantasizing about the death of Fox News is a liberal wet dream. Just read any liberal blog or tune into any of the other news networks. Anyways, that doesnt really address any of the issues I've brought up. ---------- Post added at 09:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:21 PM ---------- Wiretapping is wrong. Hacking into Newspapers to shut them up is also wrong. Happy now? -

First of all, when did I ever say that Fox News is the most awesome thing since sliced bread? And who is actually saying they should STOP investigating anything related to the crimes commited by these News of The World journalists? If Fox News employees have commited any crimes then they should be charged and be criticised for being totally unprofessional as journalists. But until then, all you're doing is wishful thinking and fantasizing about a the death of a certain media outlet that you happen to disagree with. Wanna make FOX News or News Corp in general lose money? It's simple - Don't Watch or Read their Channels or Newspapers. Last I heard, we still have that freedom of choosing not to watch or read something you don't like. -

I'm not saying they should be immune from criticism sir. I'm just saying that from what I can tell, you all just wished News Corp would shut down because you just happen to disagree with their opinions. Again, please explain to me again what the opinions of FOX News has to do with the crimes commited by a few British Journalist for a British Newspaper? Oh and here's a fun fact, News of the World was less than 10% of what made up News Corp. -

How did I go off-topic? Was it the "Get a life" comment? Fine. I apologize. But the rest of my comments about this thread being nothing more than another excuse for "Fox News" bashing still stands. Comparing Rupurt Murdoch's "Empire" to Hitler's Reich pretty much proved that. Still don't believe me? Here's a really good quote from one of our beloved mods - Bravo. Liberal wishful thinking wetdream at it's finest! :D -

Yes, lets all praise Lulzsec for SILENCING free speech! :j: Yup, let's break the law in order to silence anyone who we don't agree with. Please explain to me how publishing distinct opinions in a newspaper has to do with a few bad apples breaking the law? If you're going to start an anti-FOX News thread then just call it as such. Stop pretending you actually give a crap about the victims of the phone hacking. We don't need a thread being the official 24/7 anti-Rupurt Murdoch News Centre. We already have CNN for that! -

Gonna start getting parts for a new computer soon, but I want to get a new UPS battery backup first. I don't want to spend too much on power backup, but what is the minimum voltage/watts do you think I need to backup a PC with a 750 watt PSU? I plan on getting an i7 Core 3.2 ghz cpu, 12GB of system RAM and either a 480 or a 580 GTX video card. I don't plan on installing more than one video card btw, if that matters. -
OFP1 is now Cold War Assault, is the flamewar with CM over? :D
BF2_Trooper posted a topic in OFFTOPIC
In case ya havent heard - http://www.bistudio.com/games/arma-cwa So does this mean we can end this flamewar about who gets to make "operation flashpoint" games and leave CM alone? Sounds to me like BIS and CM has come to an agreement and made peace. -

Don't think BIS wants to bother. I think this the best compremise loyal BIS fans could get. In the end it's just a name, and the fans get back their original game. -

Yeah, but will you guys finally let this go? Bohiemia gets to distribute the original OFP albeit with a different title... but still! What more do you want? We've already got CWR2 on the way with the original dialogue. Let CM keep making games with the OFP title, we all know BIS going to be making the true military shooter. -
So is Bohemia giving up on persistant sandbox COOP campaigns?
BF2_Trooper posted a topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
So from what I can gather from the E3 presentation the main campaign is Singleplayer only, and it seems to be IMO because the devs think that it would be a more stable less buggy open world experience. The campaign in ARMA 2 vanilla tried to give us a persistant open world campaign that could be played coopertavily. But that became really buggy because of COOP. And then it seems that the campaigns in the one expansion and DLCs following vanilla became less and less cooperative and presistant but we seemed to have got a less buggy experience. They also got just a little bit linear, not much, but enough for one to notice that there were certain restrictions with where one could roam and how long you could take completing a mission. So does this mean COOP will only consist of standalone missions and game modes in ARMA 3? Or can we still expect some COOP campaigns but not persistant ones sort of like in the Ghost Recon games? -

BF2_Trooper replied to BF2_Trooper's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I can honestly say that I had many memorable moments in sandbox games such as Fallout 3, Far Cry 2, and to a lesser extent GTA Vice City. The only thing that I was longing for in those games were human team mates that I could coordinate missions and share experiences with. I kinda thought "Game 2" would be that open world sandbox COOP game I was longing for. -
