Dunno if this is a bug or not, but I noticed today upon launching the game I get a first person view on the main menu screen for a split second before seeing the default "strategic" view of stratis with the real time firefight. Only change I did today was updating my NVidia drivers from 314.07 to 314.22.

Do the recent hacking attacks involving the messages on the games screen affect only ARMA 3 Alpha? Or should I be concerned about my entire PC being infected with an actual virus now? The reason I ask is because even after I disconnected from an infected server, the hacker message is still stuck on my screen, even on the main menu screen. It went away after I restarted the game, but should I still be worried? -

Anyone working on terrorist/insurgent/militia skins? Or at least attempting to import militia guys from ARMA 2 Arrowhead? I don't mind the futuristic Iran OPFOR, but i'd still like to see some "afghan" style counter insurgency scenarios sometime. -

The BLUFOR units already look like modern day Rangers and Delta Force. Even if you'd like to have "normal" grunts, you'd probably just have to mod the helmets so that they don't all have rails and attatchments. I think one would just have to concentrate on changing the guns to M4s, M416s, and SCARS. Anyone know if the Alpha would allow us to go as far as creating whole new maps? Cause i'd love to see Afghanistan or Takistan translated into this new engine. -

Just ranting a bit here, but are all fans of Fantasy themed RPGs a bunch of anti-military bleeding heart liberals? Just something I notice on forums, I always see posts such gamers stating that simulating modern warfare is morally wrong, blah, blah, blah and racist and we should all stick to slashing elves or goblins or whatever exists in The World of Lord of The Warcraft these days! Do they just hate reality that much that they can't stand seeing a bit of it in video games? :D

Nah, i honestly don't hear these fantasy types complain about the "technical" aspects of a military shooter. Don't think they're even AWARE of the different kinds of fire rates on a gun or that you can even switch fire rates. It's when they get all butt hurt about military shooters being morally wrong and we shouldnt be shooting pretend Arabs and stick to stabbing goblins an' shit that really irritates me. War, death, destruction like anything else that happens in reality is fodder for fiction. -

Okay, so there are SOME people within the "Fantasy" community like you two that are a bit more open minded. But maybe you can ask your fellow fantasy gamers why they hate modern day realism in games so much? Do they not know how much life sucked for the common man in Medievil times? :D -
First time installing mods, cannot "see" mods in "expansions" in Combined Ops.

Also I have ARMA 2 and OA on STEAM. And yes, I did follow the Armaholic FAQ on how to install these things. I'm trying to get the Fallujah City Add-on to work - http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=12315&highlight=FALLUJAH and the required fallujah city objects add-on - http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=12316. I extracted the add-ons folder to @fallujah and @falljuahobjects in STEAM/apps/common/Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead. Launched OA combined ops and, went to the Expansions menu and all I see are the usual expansions (BAF, ARMA 2, OA, arma 2). Transfered the files to ARMA 2, launched CO, same thing. Transfered them to the Arma 2 folder in MY DOCUMENTS, launched CO and still nothing. Finally I transferred the folders to MY DOCUMENTS/Arma 2 Other Profiles/TJX, still nothing. I'm aware of having to make custom shortcuts for each mod, but I saw in the embedded youtube video in the Armaholic FAQ that you're supposed to be able to activate mods in-game in Expansions. -
It's possible to play it in Coop but there might be bugs when autosaving. Apparantly the mission maker himself never played a coop mission before -

Does ARMEX every spawn any of the custom addon units you may have enabled? When I ran ARMEX with Isla Dual enabled, I noticed that the custom factions that came with the island were listed in the Quick Selection menu. But none of their unique weapons or vehicles were listed.

Well now that people know of this mission once more, may I suggest US Army/USMC vs. Rebels in Isla Duala cities?

So far I've tried "Takistan" Force for Duala and Lingor, but that's about it. Can anyone recommend a good dynamic mission for either of these two islands that don't require 10+ players? Oh, and missions that actually make use of the units that came with these maps.

I spent some more time in the Duala version and I can confirm that I have engaged Molatian Army units. But I am still seeing Takis, usually in the form of light armored vehicle crews. Is TFOR incapable of spawning custom armored units? I'm still not seeing any of the African Rebel units that comes with the Duala addon, the only militia units I've seen are White Chernarussian insurgents who look sooo out of place in this map!

I just started trying out this mission for Lingor and Duala, but I'm not seeing any OPFOR from these islands. Instead I'm Russians, sometimes Takistani units. I've only looked around for about 30 minutes in each though, so i could be wrong.

Hi, I downloaded your BLUFOR City Fight pack from your website. But it does not seem to be launching for Takistan or Zargabad. When I click PLAY on the server menu, nothing happens. The Chernarus versions launch fine.

Would it be possible to have an option where you can "turn off" Regular Takistani army dudes and only have Irregular Militia men/Insurgents as the OpFor? That way, you could have sessions that feel like today's counter-insurgency missions that are going on in Afghanistan rather than being stuck in a conventional war.

Does third person view need to be improved in some way or remain as it is? I for one think we need a more funtional third person view where one can actually aim at something. Wouldnt mind if third person ressembled actual third person shooter games like Splinter Cell.

Am I the only one who remembers that "game 2" was always described as having "roleplaying game elements"? I don't think RPG like features for any ARMA game is too far fetch. Hell, just look at the inventory interface in ARMA 2 right now and tell me it doesnt remind you of some ULTIMA game or something. Also, not all Roleplaying games involves dungeons or dragons or magic and that goes for traditional paper and pen RPGs as well. Just look up something called "Twilight 2000" and you'll know what I mean. -

Hmm, so i noticed that if i turn off AA, my trees don't look kinda better with normal soft edges. But what does AA have to do with the LOD? -

Newly built computer, games are running very well with all settings set to high so far. But last night when I ran Benchmark 01 in ARMA 2: CO, I noticed that the trees looked too low quality even though I had every thing in the video options set to VERY HIGH and HDR to just HIGH. View Distance - 3600. My system specs: Intel Core i7 2600k 3.04ghz Nvidia GTX 580 1.5GB GDDR5 Video RAM (275.33 driver) 8GB System RAM @ 1600mhz (Corsair Vengence) Windows 7 64bit SP1 Now I've ran this benchmark before and never noticed the trees looking this. I'm able to get 45 average FPS from the benchmark which I think is pretty good. I checked my Task Manager and noticed 1.60GB of my RAM being constantly in use. Don't know if that might mean anything or not.
