  1. My one issue with servers that run BE - No Fast Travel. Yeah I am completely aware that it's "Unrealistic", but it's a very convienant "video game" aspect that allows players to quickly meet up with fellow Human players in a certain location.
  2. If I wanted to see that mission in the editor first, can I just download them in the Missions folder in "My Documents"? And then just export it from the editor to SP and/or MP myself? Which folder do I use if I want to "see" that mission in the editor first?
  3. Guys, I'm confused here. I want to know where to download missions if I want to open them on the editor (MP or SP) but I'm seeing ARMA 2 missions folder in the main ARMA 2 Dir and in My Documents. Now I have ARMA 2 + OA. Both on Steam. I see two ARMA Folders in My Documents - "ARMA 2" and "ARMA 2 Other Profiles". There are no missions folder in "ARMA 2", but in "Other Profiles" there is a folder with my profile name, and under that there is a "missions" and a "MPMissions" folder. I can see folders matching the names of missions I created in "missions" both from ARMA 2 and OA. In "MPMissions" I can only see missions I created from the editor. Now in the main ARMA 2 OA Dir I also see "missions" and "MPMissions". I only noticed one missions file in "MPMissions", and in only a readme file in "missions". Now, in my one year of playing and editiing in ARMA 2 vanilla, I have never downloaded anyone's missions from websites. Only from playing them online. So yeah, I am still kind of a n00b when it comes to downloading someone else's custom missions from links. So which "missions"/"MPMissions" folder are missions supposed to go? The one in your main ARMA 2 dir or the one in My Documents?
  4. I just think that Standard Warfare is way more "User Friendly". If there's one thing I like about the BE version though is that Zargabad is included as a map. But if I wanted to introduce new comers to a non ARMA 2 MP, then I would do so with Standard Warfare. Besides, why would BIS create a game mode that no one will play?

    Is it possible that we might get a new MP game mode with this DLC? Something more interesting and different than just Warfare with Brits in it? Perhaps something that focuses on Asymmetrical counter-insurgency warfare?
  6. I'm still not seeing too many servers running OA Warfare though, and when I do it's usually a private game. I have to look for an empty server with a "Creating" status to load an OA Warfare game myself.

    Okay, what i need to know is how do I save the mission in such a way that it shows the individual buildings on the editor map AFTER the town is generated and i go back to the editor? If it's not possible, how do i place AIs inside the town? Is it safe to just place them over the module?

    Just think of it this way, you're supposed to be playing the role of well trained US Army Soldiers and you're supposed to be fighting poorly trained third world conscripts and militia men with little to no training. I think super smart third world conscripts and militias would be just as unrealistic.

    Perhaps you could try playing with someone else. Next time you make a COOP Campaign session, set the game to public and wait for someone to join.
  10. I really don't know how to describe this, and believe me I've searched for other threads about it but I'm not really sure what keywords to use to look for this. A lot of times I see my AI team mates shooting at a target, their guns held up at eye level, but they don't actually seem to be LOOKING at their target. Intead their heads are turned facing another direction, I think they're staring at me most of the time. Not really a big deal, but very VERY awkward looking and kills the immersiveness. Anyone else notice this?
  11. For some reason the part of the intro where you see the news cast and the spec ops driving is cut out when you start the campaign in COOP mode. Not really a big deal, but can be confusing if you and your friends' first experience in the campaign is the COOP mode. Yes, some of us actuall do care about the story. :j:

    Left Handed players, UNITE!!!

    All of you so-called Lefties using Right Handed keyboard controls are Heritics!!! Here's what I've been using for directional control since I started aiming in FPS games with my mouse (WHICH I PROUDLY USE WITH MY LEFT HAND BTW) - O for forward, L for backwards, K for strafe left, ; for strafe right. I and P for leaning, ' for jumping. Feel free to use these if you wish to call yourself "Left-Handed", otherwise y'all just being lefties pretending to be right-handed people. You wannabes make me sick! :D

  15. A year since ARMA 2 vanilla was released and I finally see the ability to save at any point in the COOP campaign in OA......... or so I thought. The game only ever reverts to autosaves that take place during certain points of the game, or autosaves that take place when I quit the game as host. And even then there a still bugs when loading from a saved game in COOP mode. Last night my friend's Humvee was invisible to him and his entire fireteam was in there. He could see the humvee on the map, but could not see it in the 3D view. I on the other hand was able to see the humvee but it keep disappearing and reappearing. Eventually he was able to order his guys out of the "invisible" humvee. This only happened after he disconnected and reconnected to the game several times though. In the past year I have hardly heard anything from the devs seriously addressing this issue. Could you just tell us, are supposed to be able to save and play from saved games in COOP mode or not?

  17. I was playing this mission with my friend in campaign COOP mode but for some reason it ended abrubtly twice. Once when we came back to the main base to rearm and refuel, and another time after we reached the crash site and I had just recieved UAV support.

    And ONE year later we're pretty much in the same situation in OA. It seems that you are supposed to be able to save at any point in the OA COOP Campaign but it does not seem to work at all and no matter which saves you choose to revert to the game keeps reverting you back to the last Autosave. Also still seeing some bugs in the saved games, my friends Humvee was invisible to him and his entire fireteam was in there. He could see the humvee on the map, but could not see it in the 3D view.   19. I had lost one Bradley whilst trying to clear the crash site. When it was cleared, i got the mission to look for the survivors. I think I might have sent the Bradleys to move ahead.
  20. Despite have the option for the host to save whenever he wants during the COOP campaign, it seems the only saves that the game reverts to are the Autosaves. I tried and tried and it would only revert to the last Autosave and not one of my saves. Now what's weird is, everytime you Suspend the game it would do an Autosave. So if I can force the game to "autosave" at anytime by Suspending, why shouldnt I be able to use my User Saves? I don't get this, it's been a year now and they still have not fixed the ability to save COOP games. Please BIS, just tell me, am I supposed to be able to save games in COOP Campaign or not? Why put this feature in if in does absolutely nothing?

    Yes, having a COOP campaign would be a huge selling point for me. If we are to pay for this DLC, then the campaign should be playable in COOP, unlike EW which was a pure SP experience but that was free.
  22. If you're using SOM, does it have to be synched to ACM?
  23. How is everyone placing these modules? Do you synch or group them with each other and then synch them with the player character? I have never had problems with the ACM working in either SP or MP.
  24. Okay, I deleted the ACM module on the map, and then placed it again next to the SOM. I think it works because I did notice a friendly MI-8 helicopter fly by in the mission. I did not place this helicopter in the editor nor was it part of any mission generated by the SOM.
  25. So I created a COOP mission via the Mission Wizard that generates towns and objectives randomly. One of the objectives was to assassinate an enemy commander hiding in one 5 houses marked on the map. I cleared the town of bad guys, searched all the marked houses and couldnt see the target. Yet on my map, it clearly showed an enemy commander in one of the houses I searched. I only noticed that he was spawned under the floorboards after switching to command view and panning the camera underground. Anyone else experience something like this?
