  1. Hi all: This is my first post in this forum. Recently I reinstall OFP with my new hardware: P4 2600 Mhz, 1 Gb DDR Ram, Asus P4S800, SB Audigy, GF4 Ti 4800 SE, XP SP2. Anyway, OFP begin to bring me some unspected CTD´s in 1.96 version instaled some time ago in another hardware without problems... First of all, I look in this forum for problems like this... Upgrade drivers, VGA drivers, mobo drivers, sound drivers, mouse drivers, Directx drivers, no solution. In a couple of minutes OFP crash to desktop with a rpt file explaining me about ACCESS VIOLATION in  Flashpointresistence.exe and a lot of unknown information for me... I remember some time ago I can run OFP Resistence V1.96 without problems, perhaps not with  this hardaware, but sure, OFP runs properly. I reinstall Win XP without SP2 ( in some forums Win XP2 is a not recomended OS for games) to try. No solution, OFP crash to desktop in a couple of minutes. Oh my God, it´s imposible to play with this amazing game... At this moment I begin to suspect in some memory problem with my hardware. I run Memtest.exe and a lot of errors appears in front of me. Damm.. Perhaps memory stiks are corrupt....? Then I go to mobo BIOS configuration and look for memory frecuency. Configuration default was in auto.. (someone could spend auto is a good configuration), anyway I configure it WITH THE REAL MEMORY FRECUENCY, and a minimum voltage.. Save params, reebot, run memtest.exe again, and three hours later, memtest detect no errors in memory... JEJEJEJE. I think I found it. Conclusions: If you detect some CTD when OFP is running, configure your memory frecuency BIOS with the REAL Frecuency not with the auto configuration, at least for ASUS P4S800.. OFP uses hardware at limit, and if you don´t configure it correctly, you have a real problem... Bertus out...
