A.C.E. Advanced Combat Environment Mod 2
Blechreiz replied to sickboy's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I need a release soon -Im getting mad :D Ive been already thinking about installing arma1 just to play ACE with all these nice HK416s and so on =D ArmA2 vanilla is waiting for the big ACE mod to bring the change. Yes we can! lol -
windows7 pro x64 very fine for me

Halle44 aka vo.2 isnt playing arma2 that often because of the poor performance. I talked to him, he said hes thinking about a new version again. --------- I dont have any problems to run vopsound 2.1 with 1.04 and with 1.04-beta. I only run clean arma2 with vopsound 2.1.

The SMAW has the advance of the zoom and the the besser precision I guess. And you can choose the kind of grenade you would like to launch IN ARMA2. HEAA (Armor Penetration), HEDP (High explosive) The High Explosive, Dual Purpose (HEDP) rocket is effective against bunkers, masonry and concrete walls, and light armor. Initiated by a crush switch in its nose, the HEDP rocket is able to distinguish between hard and soft targets, resulting in greater penetration into soft targets for increased damage potential. The HEDP round is capable of penetrating 8 inches (20 cm) of concrete, 12 inches (30 cm) of brick, or up to 7 feet (210 cm) of wood-reinforced sandbags. The High Explosive Anti-Armor (HEAA) rocket is effective against current tanks without additional armor, and utilizes a standoff rod on the detonator, allowing the explosive force to be focused on a small point, allowing for maximum damage against armored targets. The HEAA round is capable of penetrating up to the equivalant of 21 inches of rolled homogenous steel. It would be nice to know which AT-4 (M136) ammo BIS tried to simulate. The Penetration heavily depens in reality on what ammotype is being used. Maybe someone has a look into the configs and can show us the real dmg values ingame.

Snow.... Winter... Snowfall?
Blechreiz replied to MasterChief096's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I would love to see any snow units and islands. Best place to play in the winter when its cold outside! -
You should use A.C.E. with Vopsound 1.9 (best soundmod imo) http://armed-assault.de/downloads/vopsound-119--ace-edition.html Using XAM just for sounds is a bit heavy. Maybe both mods try to change same configs what may let your game or the server youre playing on crash.

I guess Vopsound would cooperate too -
in your server config you may find this entry. verifySignatures=1; If you have not installed the keys or the server you want to play has not installed the keys but that check turned on you get kicked.

Hi folks! Today I read on pcgameshardware.de that Phenom2 has big FPS disadvantages to other (Intel) CPUs. They tested 18 CPUs and came to the result that AMD CPUs have disadvantages due to programing / incompatible problems. I hope I may link the graphic (49KB): (Please note: The shown Phenom2 x4 955 in this test is overclocked!) http://www.pcgameshardware.de/aid,687567/ArmA-2-im-Test-Benchmark-mit-18-CPUs/Rennspiel-Sportspiel-Simulation/Test/ <<---- Here is the full test. Its only in german but I hope everybody understands this graphic. Pcgameshardware is a very professional page with a big magazine (pcgames / pcgameshardware). Iam realy confused because I read that AMD and especial AMD / ATI will be much better supported in ArmA2. Iam using the latest Phenom2 (x4 955) and the ATI 4890. Overall my performance is ok, but I guess this test is not lying!

I run it at 1680x1050. ------------------------------------------------------------- My Post was: - AMD Phenom II X4 955 4x3.20GHz - Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P 790X - G1024P Club3D ATI Radeon HD4890 1024MB video card - 4096MB Corsair PC3-10666 CL9 Kit (DDR3 1333+) - 680W SuperFlower Atlas Design Modular - (temps never higher than 55°Celsius) - (on Windows Vista 64). ON AM3 (DDR3 PLATFORM) gives you a low score UPDATE YOUR BIOS. I HAD TO UPDATE MY Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P 790X BIOS TOO. YOUR MAINBOARD IS IN 90% OF THE CASES OLDER THAN THE 955 CPU. SINCE I UPDATED MY BIOS FRAMES INCREASED! DO IT ON YOU OWN RISK..bla..bla...and so on. This is one key reason for low frames with this CPU. Note there are other reason that may impact on benchmark scores (for example: high quality overall settings in graphic card settings)

I now installed the SP2 for Vista64bit and tried some lower graphic settings. Now Iam able to play the campaign without any crashes (30+ minutes right now). I have no idea what may have caused the crashes as every other of my games runs fine. Maybe Im able to figure out what was the exact problem in the next days. Thanks for your help maruk and all the others! If a problem occurs again Ill report it here.

"C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2.exe" -nosplash -maxmem=512 This is my path now - tried lots of changes in the video settings: It seems like a higher viewdistance makes it crash faster.
-
viewdistance on 3600 (I guess that was standard for me) every detail on very high (runs pretty fine anyway) iam currently loading the SP2 for 64bit systems, gonna try the maxmem command afterwards. Doesnt maxmem decrease on the performance?

Thanks for your fast replies. Ive got the latest video card drivers. Going to test it the service pack2 soon

AMD Phenom II X4 955 / ATI Radeon 4890 Crash to desktop / low FPS
Blechreiz posted a topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
HI! First: Iam using an AMD Phenom II X4 955 / ATI Radeon 4890 graphics card. I run Armed-Assault 1.16 Beta and the ATI Catalyst 9.5(may 2009) (on Windows Vista 64). CPU/GPU not overclocked, fresh BIOS (may 2009)update. The Problem occurs in Window and Fullscreen mode. Games like Day of Defeat: Source, Anno1701, Lockon F.C., 3DMark Vantage or Farcry2 all run fine. But ArmA does not. Ive got very high FPS and the game runs fine but after 10-20 secs playing (most times on Sahrani) the FPS decrease for 1-2 seconds. It seems like something stops the game for a very short time, then it runs fine again for a short time. (this happens again and again) Once the game started these FPS-decreases it crashes to the desktop sooner or later. I do not get any error messages. The Games closes instant. Iam sick of Armed-Assault problems so far, but I hope someone may help me or anyone having the same problems with the ATI 4890 may find help in this thread. I hope it will be fixed in Beta-Assault II. My hardware: - AMD Phenom II X4 955 4x3.20GHz - Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P 790X - G1024P Club3D ATI Radeon HD4890 1024MB video card - 4096MB Corsair PC3-10666 CL9 Kit (DDR3 1333+) - 680W SuperFlower Atlas Design Modular - (temps never higher than 55°Celsius) -
