Oh rly? Seeing there´s only male residents i would´ve guessed cologne Well..you know, there's the female reporter. Oh never mind ..
-
Yeah, lol, why should there be russians on a tropical island in the middle of nowhere? They cant reach EVERYWHERE. But is there really a resistance side? It seems like South Sahrani forces and the US army are in the same pot.
-
Yeah, i too thing it's a bit much. Nice idea tho. Even if that feature were included, would you even notice it?
-
is it just me, or are the pictures TOO COLORFUL? Maybe they're photoshopped? In one pic, the tanks seems to have blue spray paint for exhaust gases

Maybe if the AI is in "combat mode", and it has a clear target (or at least the direction) then i could be prioritized to look at that direction, no matter what. Then it could be made to use other ways to get to their next waypoint (using a combination of strafe- and backward/forward moves). But of course, i know nothing of the structures of the ArmA AI so... just guessing here (as we all are)
-
*concerning the original post* That's a really good point, i've never even thought about that. They kinda do move like tanks. But the Agent AI seems to be for VBS2 only, i really dont think they want to use the AI they developed for the military in a standard commercial game. The military must give them more €€€ for it. Some things must remain exclusive to VBS (i guess) (a short remark on Gizrm's signature) You mean when someone doesn't want spam, i CAN offer it?

Estonia here, eastern Europe.. Guess i gotta make a 1-day-trip to Soumi (finland) to get the game.. Other forums? There's an ESTONIAN FORUM?! WHERE?
-
I guess they just counted their steps from SQUARE1 or something.. But about the resistance fighters having a GPS: The game is set in modern times, and a GPS is a very common and cheap tool. It would be quite logical for them to have it. About the helper programs: I wouldn't go there. If you need to know where your teammates are, you ask them and they reply. It's realistic and it works.

Nice temper, pal.. But the video does look really excellent. The lighting makes it look so hollywoodish, yet realistic. Cool and real at the same time!.. Creal? Or.. Rool?
-
Well he DID post a warning, and it's not like the video jumped in your face. This topic is about the little blood-splatters that show up on the screen when you get hit. Tho i don't want to bother BIS with any more criticizm (i think it was in old arabic countries, where ANY kind of criticizm was taken as a NEGATIVE one), i do think the blood-splatters look stupid. I'd even be fine with no visual indication at all. You just hear the sound of the bullet hitting your flesh, and that's it. And you manically start to look for the hole .. Heh ..

There's an EDIT button over your old posts for making changes.. As for the name, i just don't think that anybody in Russia really cares what Codemasters think
-
Slighty OT, but DERRICKLBECK, did you just register to this forum to promote Saitek? Cause it does look that way.. In other threads too, you talk about how good Saitek is..
-
"... player's emotional integration ..."?? In other words you wanna shellshock all of us? Maybe the game ships with some LSD to help the immersion?
-
Exactly! That's the solution! If we get the game, then we wont need BIS to release screens and videos! We can make our own... Why didn't i think of that? (ok sorry, just had to say that )
-
Anybody lucky enough to visit that place, should videotape the whole thing. IF it is open to the public (don't really know about it that much)

Aaahhh, the old GAMEPLAY vs REALISM argument.. But that's actually another issue. We can have a generally playable and unrealistic game, but also have STANDARDS. Sure, we can make the M1A1 BETTER than T72, but then we need the standards, to make other vehicles proportionally with the same strength. I.E. when we have a BIS-made T72 that has these and these weakpoints, then "the other guy's" T72 should have somewhat same weakpoints, and be destroyed more-or-less in a similar way, not overpower the "ever-so-great-M1A1" :P

I found it extremely amusing that everybody completely disregarded shinRaider's post and went straight on with their triggerfingers. I agreed with the idea of triggerfinger animation earlier, because it sounded like a nice option for the modders, and it doesn't sound like a lot of work on BIS's part, but i bet that's nowhere near their priority list. It's actually funny how long this argument has been going on. I think Placebo ought to do something. BTW, shinRaider, inspiring rant (tho i'll be damned if anyone actually bothered to READ it) EDIT: I JUST REALISED THAT WHAT WE'RE DOING IS POINTLESS. BIS has already their own vision of the game, if it's not yet completed. They would never listen to any new suggestions anyway
-
It's funny how quickly a new StarForce thread popped up. Is it really such a big issue?
-
If they DON'T, then yes, it's a very good idea to make certain and strict standards for addons. Maybe the addons sites could reinforce them?
-
I think i heard something about BIS validating addons? So that they themselves could choose the addons that really FIT into the game. I think that's a pretty good SYSTEM
-
Of course it will sell.. It's a saga. I bet if they made 10 BFxxxx in a row, with the same content, people would still buy them :P And of course Quake Wars and BF will sell better than ArmA. It's because we live in the world of stupid, and noone knows about Arma
-
I wonder how do they limit the demo? By just giving ONE MISSION? That would still leave the whole island to be explorable :P Or will they surround the mission area (a town) with "killzones"?
-
I agree on removing the scoreboard in coop. It has helped a lot in other games (i.e. Quake2 mod DDay: Normandy) But with SCORE in mind, i had this idea (i bet this is an old one, but still gonna say it). The team kills/losses should be switched with LIVES. Each player is given a certain amount of lives in the beginning, and if you waste them carelessly, then it's your own problem. Much better than some rambo adding score to the opposing team by running into battle..
-
Sure, but there's no need to cut down the engine just because you don't NEED the extra few kilometers of viewdistance. It can stay there AS AN OPTION, can't it?
-
You don't need to CUT DOWN ON THE GAME, just add the option of playing with less detail.
