C'mon, we've all got warstories..online and off. Why isn't there a thread to tell them? There isn't a whole lot of disscussion around here at all really..like whats your favorite rifle, why? ect..I'm not used to that o.o C'monguys..maybe its done in the past, that dosen't make it bad to keep doing! Er, ack, I go off-topic on my own post. Eh heh, anyway.. You got any good war stories to tell? Post'em!

Heh heh, I hold a special record. I DIE more times then ANYBODY, every time! Garunteed. You know something eles I really hate now. All the elites going on one side and the admin forceing all the newbs on the other. It was ironic though, last game the admin did this and ended up loseing. Apparently one of the 'noobs' was a VERY skilled Tank GUnner. I was his skilled driver, between us we totaled 7 Russian Tanks. We were only stopped when he had to go. We still won though. lol Another thing I hate is everyone who keeps dissing Gamespy, because its not nearly as bad as alot of you think. I play with a regular crowd that I'm used to in Gamespy, mostly members of the SWCC and other clans including my own.

I actually have something like daydreams were I'll just start thinking about a battle or intense street fight. Thank god, it hasn't invade my nightdreams yet, but daydreams are overun with tracers and gunfire.

thanks for all the help guys..unfortunately after spending an entire day trying to get the flag system to work right I caved, unpboed a CTF mision I had, moved stuff around, changed a few triggers and voila..a mission. It'd be nice if there were..template maps, set up with all the neccessary triggers for a basic CTF mission. Then, from there a guy like me could save lots of time useing one of those instead of wasteing the better part of my life learning a new script language... (Yes, I gave all credit to the guy who had made the map, I said it was his, I just remixed it.)

I got this really good idea for a CTF mission. So, I decided to learn the editor tools enough to make it. I used the sites Tutorial on Mission Editing, useing alot of the code it used. I took out the sound and intro/outro portions of the code because I hate intros and sound. My problem is after putting the description.ext and breifing.Html into my missions folder, then exporting to MP missions...I create a MP game to play by myself to test it. I get no options as host nor does the respawn work...and my mission is fairly tough for either side so I get killed before I can test the flag system. -_-;; I think, for some reason, its not exporting the mission file, description.ext and breifing.html right into a PBO. Why? ANy help you guys can give on this? Its really strange, and I seriously doubti t hs anything to do with takeing out the sound portion of the code that the tutorial had.

Errr, ok..I'v got most everything figured out now. I just need some code. How do you add Magazines into a ammocrate? Apparently the tutorial forgot to mention how..

Aha! I'v found the culprit...apparently notepads been playing a trick on me, saving the file as Description.ext.txt However, no matter what I try I can't get it to stop doing that.. (EDIT) Damn windows...I kinda fixed the prob by opening another .ext file. Windows asked me what to read it with, I said notepad. I saved again and this time, voila...

I'm running version 1.46 because I'm a moron who mistook the Gold version for the GOTY version of the game. -_- I am now absolutely clueless as to why things arn't working as they should. I have UnPBO'ed the file and my decrip.ext and Breifing were there. So why then dosen't it work? I'm going to delete the file and re-save again.

I like the M21 because I like scopes. I got into tactical shooters with Delta force...so I'm used to useing scopes and fighting at range. THe M21 has a couple of advantages I like over the SVD. That being a larger clip and simpler scope. A larger clips important, ecspecially for more close in fighting. I can use a M21 effectively in city fighting where I could not use a SVD. The simpler, zoomable scope is nice to. I think the M21 has a slight faster fire rate too. My second favorite weapon is the AK series. They just..rock, can't explain it.

My preference is a M21 and a Law on my back (Or, a Druganov and a RPG launcher) I like the M21 better then the druganov simply because of its larger clip and simple scope. LoL That is a rare combination for me to get ahold of, so otherwise a good ole G36 and a couple nades will suit me just fine..er, online that is. Otherwise, give me an AK...AK's are the very best rifle there is. If only they had a scope...

THat might splain part of why I die. I see very little communication on most of my teams. I try to get some going but it dosen't seem to do much good. My last game in St.pierre was a disaster. We had, maybe one skilled player in the team, atl east I thought so. The only communication I renember him giveing is "Go Left"(or right ^^ So I followed him. I lost sight of him as we advanced and started to go leftish more on my own, immediately getting shot. From there on it was more 'go it on your own'. Extremly little communication from anyone except a "where is he?" every now and then. Now, St.Pierre is a hard map..very few places to take cover. I found hideing and crawling through the bushes to work best (by die and retry aka trial and error) , however, getting the flag was near immpossible. They always had someone gaurding it, and two going after ours. We had all three after theirs. A lack of tactics and leadership I guess. I'm sure if I had some sort of cover so I was'nt looking all over the place before advanceing, I might've done better...

Unlimited Respawn...I have to learn how to play before I can start playing those hard@$$ no respawn missions. I get killed often straight away. I'm just not that good yet, so for me any mission that dosen't have respawn will just suck. I'll be dead in a minute. So i'll have to spend the rest of the time watching my team play??? Eh..no

Ilike the small maps myself, well some, like Little Everon. I'v never experienced half thestuff you guys have gone through. I guess Gamespy isn't so bad afterall. ;p Now, my very most hated thing is when starting up a game, i don't make it in, or when hosting, other people don't make it in, thus resulting in uneven teams. I hate it when all the experts join on one side and force all the newbs onto the other. I hate it when they go gogogo when we're waiting for 1 more player to even up the teams. i hate having to wait eons for my soon-to be clan to give a tryout. (even though I understand why) I really hate it when people Camp and hide "in the belltowers" I also hate it when they sit right outside of spawnarea and kill people just as they are getting out of the spawn area. (LITTLE EVERON >.<)

I belive The true root of Christianity is the asking of the holy spirit (The holy trinity being that God, Jesus and the holy spirit are one, so for short I prefer to say the holy spirit) into your heart to guide you. It is not the act of beliveing in Jesus that saves your soul. Instead, if you trully belive, and ask the spirit in, it wil guide you to make the right choices in life. It will make you into a good person, if you trully are in touch. So in being guided by the spirit, your made into a better person, and being a better person..gets you into heaven. People who say if you don't belive you'l go to hell are in the "All people are naturally Evil" camp of thought. THey belive that without Jesus's help there is no way that people can be good. Thats extremely cynical and moronic..and i can garuntee you there are buddhists and Muslims in heaven right now, just because they passed the judgement day. Anyone can, if your a good person. Thats the basic premise. I could go deeper into detail. I'm a theologist by hobby. I'vstudied Christianity, Taoism, Confucianism and Islam.

Well, i'll need to find Resistance before I get IL. I had confused the GoldEdition for the GOTY Edition when I was out shopping for a good FPS MilSim. I still love my Gold edition..but I -want- Resistance. So, I guess I can go look for it, see if the mall might have it for 9$ lol.

Well, I know Melchizedek was one of the kings of Jerusalem back in the day. not sure who the otherthree are though. ^^; I agree with that spiritual take on christianity above. It in a way reminded me of the Pentacostal church. My aunt used to take me there. It was interesting to hear what they said there, but ultimately all the standing and singing made me leave.

The state of the gaming industry? Well..if you want jus by Simcity 4 its VERY VERY bad. Fortunately there have been much better games released that arn't as bugged out, poorly documented and messed up as SC4. Civ3, Flight Combat Sim 3, American Conquest, Medieval Total war, Splinter Cell and a few others are very very good games. A couple I couldn't play on my system, like Splinter Cell and FCS3 but all are quite good. There are only a few gems to be found in the rough. You have to really llok for them/ In SC4 I just pulled up a big chunk of fools gold. My mistake.

I prefer the M60. I like haveing 100 rounds of fully automatic bliss. The G36 and Stery aug have one flaw, clip size. You set it on full auto and you'll use up your clip in a second or two. The M60 gives me extended fireing time to scare the hell out of my enemy and put a few in his skull. The m60 isn't accurate at range, but in Capture the flag and deathmatch its a great weapon. And as long as you understand the kickback of your gun, you'll know where to point so that the most possible bullets land on your target.

I can join Games on dedicated servers. I also can host normal games on Gamespy..however I cannot Join games in Gamespy. I get almost to the first screen, I can start to see their names and stuff then Bam, it crashes back to desktop. Its the weirdest error I'v evr seen, and whats weirder is how it got started. I had some weird error while trying to exit out of a game and had to restart my comp to get out. When I tryed to play again joining didn't work. I'm running: 800Mhz AMD 128MB ram 32MB TnT2Pro video card 1.46 OFP Gold edition Windows 98 Second Edition

thats a nice explanation, but my hopefull to be Squad uses Gamespy. Note, when I say first screen I mean in-game. After the host launches the game I get past Waiting for Server, createing CLient, and just as I'm entering the pool it crashes.

Ohhhh, how I'd sooo live to have this and use it on Gamespy. Gawds would i have fun! I get TKed so much its not funny. On one map, I drove around the city we were suppose to hold in a jeep and took the russos last BMP they had. I told my teamates on the team line that I had stolen their BMP and not to shoot me. SO, I came on out from their base, drove RIGHT up to the other BMP the Russ were useing, said hello and blew them to bits. heh heh, so much for the Soviets. Then as I drove into town, one of the M60's fired on me. he didn't kill me, I took a right and said, again. "Hey, don't shoot, I stole their BMP!!" I came around the house and BOOM, I'm dead. A lil message pops up saying who TKed me. GRRRRRRR How I'd love to have dropped that M60 from 1000 ft in the air.

This has been a great two days, really it has. Its really fun to play online, despite having to deal with some pretty immature peeps. This is a little rundown of things I'v liked and disliked I liked the Dedicated servers at Gamespy, giving my new Cable modem the chance it needs. I also Liked the fact they, unlike ASE's, servers were not all password locked. I played alot on a 10 min no admin server. I did not like having to deal with a bunch of rude, impetulent 13 yr olds. i don't have time for temper tantrums, I really don't feel like playing the vengence game, I certainly don't want to repeat myself 20 times to get a message across. Part of this is, I did NOT like having to work with them..teamwork is almost nill..its a noob free for all and it usually gos to the team whos got control of some armour. Typically BMP's.. Deathmatch is a headache. Its also kinda fun, but still mostly a headache. mostly its my computers fault though, not anything eles. I only have 128 MB ram so things load very slowly. Buggyness. I hate buggyness...at one time me and Hidden Horror had to share a body. How does this work? Think of a two headed man.... Er, as you can see, alota lows, but it still managed ot be fun..just to get out and fire a bunch of bullets and..every now and then, actually kill someone. Any tips or suggestions that might help this New multiplayer out? i really don't want to use the search engine, don't make me ;_;

How do you beat this mission? I bought the game a few days ago with my X-mas money. I was doing fine till this mission. Now it seems no matter what strategy I try I die, and there are no save posistions so I have to START ALL THE WAY OVER AGAIN. i'v been playing this mission over and over for two days. I like a hard game but this is insane... PS yes I did do a search on this, there was one post on it. it got one lovely 2 line reply. 'Go to provins, kill some guys, destroy that bmp, get the uAZ and go to the forest.' Ohhh, that helps lots man. Which guys? Where? With what, how? I aim at them, I fire at them but they don't die. I have to get right up to them before my gun is accurate. and their accuracy is top notch.

Well, yeah, I was useing Gamespy. I guess I will join a squad, I'll need to find one. Well, I spent another day at that server...I'm getting better..*nods* Well, off to find a Squad
