  1. I was a huge flashpoint fan back in the day but didn't get into arma due to my computer being garbage. Now that I have a great computer I went and got arma2 and I'm pleased (and disapointed) that most of the great aspects (and bad aspects) are still there. I do have a few questions that I wans't able to find answers to on the forums/wiki. 1: why are ai vehicles seemingly more stupid than in flashpoint? In flashpoint I could plop a chopper with a simple move or seek and destroy mission near the enemy and it would devastate enemy armour and then move onto picking off infantry. Now when I place a chopper, even with a targetted destroy mission on the enemy armour, all it does is fly over the enemies and get promptly shot down. I was never too good with the editor and never could figure out the more high-end init options and scripting but what am I doing wrong? All I want is an AI chopper flying around and doing it's job, not instantly getting shot down by a single t-72 or bmp or bloody static machine gun. Tanks seem to have similar problems too, they never shoot each other properly and end up driving around randomly untill an AT soldier finally hits them. Vehicles controls were always a bit tricky in flashpoint but I got the hand of them pretty well, but after a few days I really can't get a handle on them in arma2. My main problem is that in flashpoint if you were the commander of a vehicle you could zoom around your vehicle in freelook and simply click on enemies to target them, same when flying a chopper just point and click or click on the radar. In arma2 I'm having a horrible time commanding any vehicle. Arty! I've read 3 walkthroughs doing everything exactly as they say yet I've never gotten it to work. I place the artiliery, I place the modules, and I put in the complicated scripts. When I load up the mission it will tell me art strikes are available and on my radio it shows up, but it's never in my list of support actions and clicking it on my radio does nothing. I downloaded an example mission with arty and it works, but i can't open the mission in my editor to really see how it works. Civilians! Once again I've read the wiki and tutorials on how to populate towns with civilians but just like with arty I can't get it to work. Once again it's something that requires complicated init scripts with a thousand different options and arguments and I just can't get it to work. Warfare buildings? What are these? It sounds like they are part of some awesome base-building RTS style game but I can't find much more info about it. If anyone could give me some help, explained as if I was absolutely retarded, it would be great!
