    One thing I kind of noticed with chopers.... is that when the AI first take off or get a do move command.. they always initially fly up 50 meters no matter what you specify before taking off.. or you have to try and force it to stay at the specific height...

    I may be half asleep or something, but i think i remember reading something on this before.... I'll try searching myself, but i think in the editor if you zoom in directly over the building you can place a unit there and it gives you the option as to which room you want to put them in ...given each room is assigned a number... I'll try looking to see....

    ooops I had no idea you could still send messages to your team within a dialog. I put it in my dialog for my UAV ... I guess I'm taking that out lol Oh on the NV... Could you use a greenish transperant texture for that?? Then just have it overlaid on the dialog itself?? That way there wouldn't be just a small limited view (with a small hole) but the entire screen which would be typical with a camera

    Ohh....one small little idea .... For MP missions.... Could you add a text box where you can send side chat to your side. So then you wont have to exit the dialog to relay to them where an enemy is hiding or their position Â

    Very cool Addon on!!! I love it....One thing though.... on the camera rotation a "reset" button would be nice too...so then you can just watch the direction you are heading.... I need to work on my UAV too..and get it out..... i still have quite a bit of scripting left.....can't wait to see the final version of this!!! good job!!!! Bullz

    Could even go as far as to kill them slowly over time.... Maybe make a contamination tent...where if you get there in time you can get your health back or stop dying??

    hey everyone! Yes, I've seen the mod for C&C too...its been a while though. They had already created soldiers.. some tanks and even some of the buildings... Last thing i saw was that they were working on some of the airplanes...I love the game C&C and would really like to see it from a more first person kind of view!! I've gotten every C&C game...but when I got Generals..i found the hype of it really didn't live up to what it was made out to be....It's really easy and the only thing i found that really made a difference inbetween former games of C&C is the camera views Disappointed me...

    hey sleeper ...you hit the nail on the head... there already is a command for putting them in the vehicle... i think the command is <name of player> moveinCargo <name of vehicle> <name of player> moveinDriver <name of vehicle> <name of player> moveinGunner <name of vehicle> Thats just off the top of my head...it might be wrong

I'm lacking textures though.... and Suchey you are the greatest ever! I was going to make one of my own and saw your thread a while back... would love to see it only thing i need to do after that is make a UAV "command vehicle" I love this!! :::whipes tears from his eyes:::

  14. I'm currently working on a UAV spy camera called the Cypher that is used by the US military. I've got it in game.... I've been using an old script out there called the "helmet cam" to test the potential of the spy camera.... So far it works and looks great, the only problem I have with it... is that I can't control the AI's direction of view (bearing or heading), nor the height in which it flies... The cypher acts essentially like a helicopter, so it will hover.. I envision using the cypher to fly either low through streets of towns or high above the terrain to do scouting and view enemy bases. If anyone could help, I would like to encorporate the "helmet cam" script with another one that has an interface when your watching the cam... to chose to make the spy camera drop/raise 5 feet at a time....and possibly turn or rotate left/right by about 60 degree at a time. I have no clue about scripting - I'm just a rookie here and thought this would be one sweet addition to the game! Please help!!

    It's totally ok TJ I've been fairly busy myself....::::mumbles about bridge design projects::::: I'm not sure exactly what version I'm on. I have implemented maybe 3 or 4 things into it. I fixed a couple small bugs and only have maybe one bug i just haven't sat down to fix. It shouldn't take much to do. I still haven't found a way to do the "do fire" or "do watch" or such without having the cypher start flying on its own. haha...I'll try looking into the trial version!

    Hey! Great work! I'm really really waiting for something like this. I was going to make one myself. Reasons is because I'm making a UAV named the "Cypher". I have made a rather large dialog to control it through. Even created a system to use several antennas to have as signal ranges to control it from. I plan on creating an over all "cypher command vehicle" to control it from; as well as, a portable and carriable uplink to control it by a player on foot. They could have it in their back pack and could stop and deploy it to view it or could trade it over to a fellow teamate to control ...Also, have it where they could place it in the command vehicle. If you are interested or I can help or anything please let me know. Also if your interested in what I'm making you can look it up in this forum and the "mission scripting" forum to read about it.     Sucess!!! I know it has been a while since I've last posted, but I have been pretty busy with a few other things, but I do have some great news! I have developed some scripts that allows the player from a "command vehicle" (just an existing one ..hope to make one or get some help to make one) to set up antennas ...5 in total (more could easily be added). Each with a remote signal range of approx 3000 meters. I have created it so that if the player isn't in a specific range of 1800 meters (not in command vehicle) or 2800 meters (if inside command vehicle) to the cypher then it will check for the nearest antenna. From there the distance of the cypher to the antenna is checked to see if it is in range. If so, then it will check and see if the player is within the range to the same antenna. If not, then it will systematically find the nearest antenna to the first selected antenna that is within range of the player. Also, if the antenna is destroyed then it will automatically be taken out of the "pool" for the nearest antenna. At the same time I have created pictures that show the direction of the signal from the antenna or player to the cypher. Also, it shows the strength of the signal. I do have one small lil favor to ask: I still need someone to help me with the pictures though, I don't have the software to create transparent pictures. Also, I still can't find anyone to help texture..... Thanks! I hope to get it out soon!

    I don't know why this old thread just popped into my head, but I never got back with Maxpower about this subject..... It could be possible to do this, but it wouldn't be a slider function in coding persay.... You could creat a back ground picture and have it displayed once the dialog was created. Then you could create several transperant pictures too (except for the arrow showing the direction of the azmith)- it could be 360 individual pictures or what ever increments you would like to use for displaying the heading direction on the azmith... Then create a display box or editing box in the center of the azmith for showing the value that you selected (or entered by numberpad)..... A way to select it on the picture would be to make very small action boxes that are transparent in color and place them around the circumfrance of the circle or azmith.... Then create an action button bellow the display..to execute the command you want... In the script.. First on the creation of the dialog a section would be needed to read the players heading and send it to the display box and display the proper picture of the arrow. Second there would be one that would be reading the action buttons selected and displaying it to the display box. Third, would be the script called up when hitting the "execute" button.... It would read the display box and execute what you wanted to do with the direction you selected. All in all ...I think it could be done, but it would take a lot of work to do so!

    Geez i wish i hadn't been required to only take Fortran90 coding in college.... Very nice work Tychon.... Just a little thought.... maybe for the action buttons it could give a prompt to enter in the action(s) for that button Great job....whew :: whipping tears out of eyes:::
