    Nightvision addon?

Hey, i really like the way the nightvision looks in the wargamer addon, however i like how ecp behaves over wgl. Is there any simple NVG addons out that function like the wgl type (lessened fuzziness)? Its kind of hard to search for somthing as universialy named as 'nightvision' and not get a ton of irrleavent returns! thnx -BtD

    Rts_build and conquer

ya i got some sugestions.... once one side gets even one attack helo up and running, the other side is screwed unless they are 1) hidden 2) one step behind and lots of money another things is the 'repair vehicle' option everyone (?) has... once the attack helos get all empty, all it takes is ejecting 50m up, landing, and fixing your now-wrecked helo and BAM, its all fresh and clean... we were palying that map heavily 2 nights ago and after we got the concept down it was vanilla, save a few oddities... the hardest part was collecting money, in that either side had to drive to the HQ... drive to the recycle building? Oh, idea... would it be a better idea to have nato start in the north end of the island and commies in the south, with the towns to conquer in the relative middle area in sort of a beltway? inaddtion have a couple towns nearer to the spawn of each respective side worth more for holding if its held by the opposing force... like a town thats 1,5km from nato respawn worth more for the commies to hold, seeing as its more difficult to hold. thats all the ideas i can shoot off know. to everyone that saw the initial posting by karrillion but were reluctant to play, give it a whirl... its a fresh concept and is worth it. -BtD

    Lookin for somewhere to play..

You know... its intersting to really read through and note some of the points used against some of the maps on Frag... "boring with each side having 50+ tanks" seriously? count them before you make unfounded, exaggerated claims plz, thnx. Eat some cornflakes and do some research. I believe desert rumble, as an example, has 40ish tanks, thats 40ish total. And the nonsense about being place on the noob squad, etc etc is all correct. Until you prove yourself worthy, you have virtualy no voice... This is the part where you stand up, and state loudly "But on the <insert favorite> server im a regular/admin/mapmaker" oh, now i say, "true but if I were to visit your server, id be shuffled in with the noobs" You have to build a reputation on a server before you can opinionate as to its faults. "judge not lest ye be judged"... how many maps have you complainers submited to fraghaus? oh i see, its easier to point at the problem than to sit down and try and solve it.

    Jip with new netcode

haha, i find it funny when it was said that "bodies and guns that disappear after a few minutes is unrealistic" or "I don't like the idea of JIP because IMO it just doesn't fit in a game like OF." Concerns of realism? And respawn is realistic? .... thats what i thought... if they wanted to make it 100% realistic they would of sent rifles with the game so you can shoot yourself the first time you die in the game. Problems with that? no repeat customers... I come from mechwarrior 4 and Rogue spear... those are great games. Rogue spear has no join in progress but the rounds never last more that 5 min. On mechwarrior i played on a sever all the time that did CTF for and hour per round..... that game does have JIP and that made it very enjoyable, as know one wants to wait that long for the game to start. Its a balance between having fun and realism, the only constraints on either is what the engine can do. Quake 3 and others like it were geared around the MP aspect of it... so its kinda hard to compare them to ofp, as in quake3 might send less data then flashpoint but quake handles the data better. Honestly, if the netcode was further optimized beyond what it is now and JIP was implemented. i can see servers boosting capacity and games lasting over 30 min. To me 30 min is not enough time for CTF at all, it takes 20 min to really lay it into the other team. -BtD

    squad.xml logo

Ok, i DL'ed your squad.xml and your logo.jpg, after peeking in it, ive got some questions. 1) where is your squad.dtd and squad.xsl?  (both need to be in the same loactaion as the .xml and .jpg 2) i downloaded your sqaud.xml off of http://www.fistsbs.btinternet.co.uk/squad.xml  but when i opened it up it says; <web>www.geocities.com/sbssquad</web> erm, which is your squads website? squad.xml points to where all your markup is located. So, if you use the btinternet.com site or geocities.com you need to have your squad.xml reflect this.  And you need to have the 4 necessary files in that location as listed by the squad.xml .. you need to first fix your squad.xml to say your markup is on the btinternet site and then upload the 2 missing files (bobthedead@home.com and ill email to you). then make sure all the guys in your squad have ther correct site (same as the squad.xml is located at) in their user info in crashpoint... -BtD (EDIT: i relooked at the btrinternet site about 15 minutes later and found the .xsl and .dtd. your problem is in the squad.xml needs to say <web>http://www.fistsbs.btinternet.co.uk/squad.xml</web> and all of your memeber have to change their info to say the correct url)
