  1. This looks excellent! I was wondering when the island/map will be released to the public that you made with this? I never worked with Visitor so i guess this will not be for me, but for all the map makers i guess this will help them make even better maps. Good job guys! Regards Alex

    Great map for sure! Thank you for all your hard work. I noticed something that i never seen in any other map. I know that soldiers can get stuck and go through walls at times but i just post this to see if there is something you can do about it, or if its just plain ArmA screwing things up. Some AI got stuck there and wouldnt move after that. Happened 2 times in the same place.   3. I read through a lot of the threads but didnt find anything about this. Sorry if its already covered somewhere in here, but i hear more people have this problem. When being fired at and sonic cracks are played the volume on the whole soundmod goes so low it sometimes even disapear. Most of the times it just goes very low and slowly works it way back to normal volume. With Mark's Hifi soundmod this effect is even more hardcore at least on my computer. I get that with FDF as well. Since ive heard more people getting this im wondering if there is a fix someone knows about? Im using SB Audigy 2 with the "latest" drivers available. Hope this issue wont follow ArmA2, as its annoying to the max. Regards Alex

    Sound volume problem

    I have the Audigy 2 soundcard right now and had it through ArmA since start. It has always lowered the overall volume when cracks are played, but not as much as it does now. Will test the HW off and see what happens. Why doesnt for example huge explosions that are louder than the cracks lower the volume or my gun im firing wich is at about the same level as the cracks? This is what i find weird with all this. If the gun or explosions dont drag the volume down, shouldnt it be possible to skip it for bullet cracks too? If the HDR technology is there to level too loud sounds, it seems like its set to work on cracks only, at least with the dynamic volume thing and it should be possible to make the cracks the same as the rest of the sounds. Maybe on option in ArmA2 then. Would make me and more happy. Wonder if thats something a modder can fix hmm... Anyway, i find it a bit annoying and immersion-killing even though it lowers it a bit. That the sound volume goes up and down while playing makes you aware of it. Thanks for the tip. Off to test. Regards Alex

    I have been wondering why the volume goes down very much when bullet cracks go by our heads and it seems this happens more to some and less to others. It is there though and when i use Hifi sound mod this volume drop is insane. This isnt Mark's fault but as i understand it, its a feature in ArmA. I noticed that this with vanilla ArmA as well. So my suggestion or wish is that ArmA2 fixes this. Do not make the bullet cracks turn the rest of the volume down as its an immersion killer. Ive been playing FPS for so long and now when i finally have bullet cracks, it doesnt work properly. To me and many of my friends, bullet cracks are what makes you say "oh shit" and hit the deck with a smile on your face. It adds more immersion, at least imo. So please BIS, check the sound and do something so the volume wont go down in ArmA2 when bullet cracks are played. Regards Alex

    Cant understand why the sound volume gets lower just because of only those sounds? I remember it wasnt as bad with FDF even though it happened there too. But with Hifi my volume goes to zero and the immersion just dissapears. Isnt there anything we can do except delete the bullet cracks? Too many games has been played without cracks and when we get them, the volume goes down lol. I tried changing them myself to lower volume and other sounds completelly but it doesnt help. So there is something coded (a feature) that the volume should go down when they are played? must be possible to change this without delelting them? If this continues in ArmA2, the sound experience of war will continue to be bad. Bullet cracks make it all sounds so much more realistic and immersive. Regards Alex

    Just adding here that i have the same problem with 1.14. For me it goes either white (whole screen) with some pink/purple big squares. And if i ESC and look in the menu it has weird colours. ALT+TAB fixes it. Just installed the 175.19 version NVIDIA drivers and will see if this problem continues. Running 8800GTS

    Yes. Seems to happen all the time. Also to some friends i talked to. I thaught it was a normal thing for ArmA but i hear that some dont have this problem. So i dont know why this is. Maybe Audigy2 is too crappy, i dont know. I guess i will try get hold of another soundcard and try as the latest Audigy2 drivers allready are very old.

    Not only that the AI should behave better in combat situations but something i really miss is more random things the AI could do. If more animations are implemented in ArmA2 as stated then there should be possibilities to make groups of AI do other type of things except stand in formation, patrol etc. What i mean is to see guards walking around, stretching their legs, doing more human moves here and there. And for example having a group of enemy AI load boxes onto a truck and things like that. More alive AI. To sneak up on an enemy camp and see patrols, single guards and "workers" doing things here and there would add a lot of immersion imo. And hopefully this might be possible with the new animations that goes into ArmA2. Regards Alex

    Totally agree with OP. Some more detail around the air overall would be sweet. Im buying "DCS: Black Shark" when it comes out due to the fact that i have wanted a combat heli sim for so long. But adding some more detail around the air vehicles will give this already awesome sim more diversity. Lets hope for it. Regards Alex

    I like the sparks. Especially when shooting haevy MGs on tanks etc. And you do not get sparks when hitting infantry, it is when the inf weapon is hit. So if it is removed and can be done in sep, pbo like rain, id be happy. Thanks for fixing the smoke thing Matt. Regards Alex

    Tested this today and it is super! I like the detail in the vegetation and i was afraid the fps would be bad, but to the contrary, fps is high! Very good performance. It has a bit hard edges on top of mountains, but we dont have to run around there anyway. Great quality island. Thanks for your hard work! EDIT: The sounds when walking is gone on this island. Im running FDF Soundmod and the footstep and gear sounds are not playing out. Im guessing the surface are not standard surface? I changed to another map and footsteps is there. Weird when there is no sound at all while moving on foot. Just thaught i let you know. Regards Alex

    Seems you can get killed by gun fire even though the windows havent break. Sometimes the windows break first and then you start to take injury from repeated fire. But sometimes you just get killed from 2 shots through a window and it doesnt brake (and sometimes through the armour in the back. 2-3 shots and you die). Maybe this is a limitation in arma or the alpha state? Anyway, super duper addon, great work! Thank you. Enjoying this a lot. Regards Alex

  17. @Makake Always check search button and for example Armaholic and search there. I went to Armaholic and searched for "ECS". Result: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=2956 That is a small file you put in there somewhere with the ECS and it makes it possible to use all other addons with it. Regards Alex

    Graphics engine improvement

    In Age of Conan it seems the parallax mapping (making textures look 3D) doesnt do much to the FPS actually. Some very small FPS hit and the PM was everywhere around the player. I think the difference with on and off was about 5FPS. But then that might have been in that game and it will be different in others. Just let you know what i found out about that game. Alex

  20. Seems like a nice addon. Is it XEH compatible? Maybe not needed? Wonder how it clashes with zGuba's stuff that also have changes in weapons... Time to test EDIT: I notice no difference except the weapon changes (dont see the dual MGs on the AH6 though). Might be some addon conflicting, but no other addon i use tampers with flight models. Maybe its a XEH conflict then. Will try later without other addons. Regards Alex
  21. @Q Yep i'll make a recording later tonight. Jus think its funny as FDF never was a problem before in boats. But after introduction of lowering of volumes inside vehicles, it came. But not at first. Just makes me confused. The RHIB is the most obvious. Cant hear the engine at all. Only when switching first/third view i hear the correct volume of the engine sound, but only for a micro second. Ill post a mp3 or a small vid later. Thanks for wanna check it Q. /Alex
  22. Argh i wish i could be of any help in these matters... In my mind making them glow was as easy as just exchange the flares with the glowing m203 ones. ( yeah right! ) We need to bug Sickboy! Nah, i bet he got his hands full like all you addon maker boys. Would be nice though to see those flares drop during night missions. Regards Alex

    That just seems... retarded. Possible or not, im not going around hitting people in the face even though i can. Common sense takes you a long way. I think warfare would be rather boring and pointless if people spawned into these bunkers and just waited for people to come by and box them in. Sounds completelly retarded, possible or not.     What small details would you like to see?

    Been wondering about more actions in the mission editors waypoint section. Like for example make a helicopter land at a specific place we have to type into the init line. So i thaught about to get in more functions in the "select type" section of the waypoints. In there we could have all the waypoint actions we have now plus "land", "place explosive" and so on. Dont know if that is possible, but it would be nice for all of us that dont know all the functions and how to write them into the init field, and also be a good thing for the console version if they get the mission editor. So my request would be - more functions for easier/faster building of actions when making missions. Regards Alex
  25. @zGuba Yep. your right. It was fixed by William1 though as he made an "unofficial" XEH config fix and posted it in the F22A topic. So flares and lots of other goodies works now. LINK: F22-A XEH Config About the glowing flares - it must be done! Regards Alex
