    And thats because it wasnt adressed in this beta. As explained and per changelog.
  2. He said hands and faces. That screen KeyCat is probably too far away to see that. When you zoom out enough all goes compltetely white. No matter if its OA or not.

    Nvidia GTX580 benchmark ArmaII

    Come on now Bangy! Hows the 580? :D I placed an order on both 480 and 5970 (chosing last second between them), but if 580 is out and it rocks ARMA then... Basically im ripping my guts out now to be able to run ARMA at 1920x1080 maxxed. With smooth gameplay that is. So far i manage 1920x1080 high/med but vegetation/cities still burns me bad. As soon as i slap one of those new brutal cards in and OC the i7 i hope to finally be able to stop thinking about FPS in ARMA. :) EDIT: The FPS looked low for those cards and i spotted the problem in the image. Nice to see the settings were "wrong". Just setting all to V.High isnt very smart as some can be cut down without you seeing any difference, but gaining tons of FPS.

  12. I think im suffering a bit from that too. At least lower FPS (more stutter) than previous builds (especially latest betas). Im trying to compile a set of issues to report. Trying to get some feedback first that im not the only one noticing these issues. 1. Bulletcracks not audible from vehicle weapons (Bradley main gun etc). 2. At dusk/dawn laser dots are huge covering a whole vehicle. 3. Heads missing of US soldiers at not too far distance (High obj.detail). 4. Weapon sounds have no delay over distance (this bug comes and goes with builds). 5. Burst/auto fire at distance will produce 1 "bang" sound instead of the actual burst/auto and with proper distance delay. The next burst/auto from the same weapon is heared proper (ie burst/auto fire sound), but not distance delayed (this is also a bug that comes and goes with builds). And of course a bit more stutter, but not too much for me luckily. I ran the last beta at high with 1920x1080 with good performance. However PP was off as it is much heavier in OA than it was in ARMA2 pre OA. I had PP on high in ARMA2 without much FPS loss. With 1.55 i struggle a bit more with those settings. EDIT: Heatseeker: I know your an old BIS vet, but did you try remove ARMAOA.CFG? Might not help at all although at times ive seen it make a different. Maybe placebo effect though.
  13. I know changing them has no effect, but was thinking maybe its a measurment of current patch contra system. The final 1.55 patch braught me negative number for the first time. The last beta was pretty good. The final gave new issues like weapon sounds dont travel with delay over distance (again), and missing heads on US soldiers from not so far distance. Doing some work to report these issues.
  14. The BAF patch is for full only i think. Thats why it says it cant find your BAF EXE. BAF lite is updated by the OA only patch (as well as ARMA2).

    Edit out all houss in that whole texture? Bad idea i think. Besides when buildings are too far for the object detail when flying you still see "buildings" which you wouldnt if he "removed" them from the texture. Great map with superb performance.
  16. Thanks to introduction of VSYNC in options i managed to optimize performance easier and found new playable higher settings thanks to it. Thanks a lot for that BIS. Didnt notice much LOD swapping during my rather brief tests, but i did notice weird behaviour from the AI when leading them. Might been a fluke so will have to get back on that. They followed me badly even circling around instead of staying still in formation. Big improvement was VSYNC and whatever else was done in the background as the performance seems great. Fiddling with VSYNC and Mouse Smooth while upping settings can get you to a nice feeling of boosted FPS. BTW: Does the line in ARMA2OA.CFG "3D_Performance=93750;" have any meaning? With previous patch activated it's 100000 on my machine. And the patch before that it was lower. Seems this changes up and down from patch to patch, but if it has any significant meaning i dont know.

    Anyone know if a ticket is up at DH about vehicles not wobble/rock when firing the big guns? Searched but might search the wrong keywords. Fire a tank with its main gun sideways should make the tank rock sideways a little from the recoil, but they are dead still. Might be a ticket that i didnt found.
  18. Go to www.armaholic.com and click "downloads" button followed by ARMA2 or OA (depends for which one your playing). There is a second button called "Addons" followed by "Units". Have fun simming through tons of cool units. ;)

  25. For me HT destroys FPS a lot. The cure is to use the startup command -CpuCount=4 (goes into the TARGET field of the ARMA2 shortcut) which works the same way as disabling it in BIOS, and i rather have it disabled for ARMA only instead of completely for all programs. I notice of course that OP ran ARMA fine with HT, but just mention the startup command so others wont need to go disabling it in BIOS just to play ARMA if they have the same FPS stutter as most with HT on. ;)
