Well I have tried everything as well, even tried to run under Vista on my dual boot, same as everyone else. I decided to do a full re-install of my machine today with just base drivers in the XP boot, and guess what! Still the same, so the only thing it can be is the securom crap. It's not just BI fault but the money grabbing Publishers, it would not suprise me if this new version of securom was added at the insistance of Atari. And as for 505, you can't even email them as it just comes back, so no support from them then.

I have tried everything people have done, and even run a program to hide the virtual drives, and still no joy. Securom are still to reply to my email too, I just hope they fix this soon, after waiting weeks for the new patch to unify everyone, not good. As for my comments about pirates, I actually work for a games developer and yes there is a problem out there, but the scare mongering in the industry is over hyped, these people who DL games will never have parted with their cash in the first place, so no real money is lost, it's all vapour money, it doesn't exist. but as has been said already the securom works fine with 1.05/1.06 and the beta, to change it after the fact when the games has been out for months and has well and truely cracked already is just asking for trouble, both the developers and publishers are to blame. All I want is a fix to the problems we are having, this will have a adverse affect on new people who have just parted with cash in the USA.

I have the same problem with my XP install of Arma as the rest of you, 1.05 EuroDVD works fine(with Alchol etc installed). 1.08 will not even start, have installed twice already, this is not good, I purchased this game to play it, not be restricted by security software dictating to me what other software I chose to install on MY MACHINE, which I paid for. When will developers wise up to this infringement of peoples personal liberties, and please don't start with the Pirates are the problem, 90% of people will buy a game if it is worth playing especially if you need codes to play online. PLEASE BI just sort it out.

This is a common problem with the crappy patching system that BI use, I had the same issues, there is a UK version of the patch. Try that one, if is still doesn't work, you will need to do a clean install of ArmA. The other way to fix this is extract the file is says is corrupt from the CD using Winrar on over writing the one in the addons folder.

Of course we want fast roping in the game, insertion into wooded areas, rooftops etc, where the helo can't land. Don't think a UH60 can land on one of the hovels for real, they aren't exactly light.....

Bl**dy Microsoft again, is there no way you can have users select from an ingame option what there graphics card memory is and have the engine work within its limit, surely you know how much the game is using at any one time. This would also set the best graphics options for performance, if you want to change then you should expect lower FPS, other games look at you machine and set best setting for hardware.

You will not he is running XP, Vista drivers = 158.18 To be honest, my rig has a 1.86 C2D @ 2.66, with 8800GTS 320Mb, at 1280 x 1024 The optimum settings tested with ArmA mark(vista) were Normal for most settings, Low PP/AF, High Shadow/AA/Blood, view distance 2000m, this gave me a ArmA mark of 1954.81, when tested on my XP I was able to run things on high mostly and get a similar result. ArmA is a graphics hog, so don't expect to it to run at the settings your trying with everything cranked up, the beta which I tested does show improved FPS, so most people will hopefully get performace with 1.07

I finally decided to clear ArmA 1.05 and tried the 1.06 demo same problem. So I then removed every entry in the registry for Track IR/NaturalPoint including USB bindings for the hardware, after removing the drivers/software. and did a fresh install. This has corrected the problem and the fault is now fixed and TIR registers in Arma now. Thanks for the support, it's nice to see hardware vendors keeping a look out for problems on game forums.

Thanks for replying. I'm using the latest version 4.1 build 30, the blue LED doesn't come on, when I run ArmA, but does with the other programs. I had problems with Lockon but this was fixed by deleting the INI file. I have also removed and re-installed the driver/software just incase.

Hi Does anyone know why my TrackIR4 Pro will not work in ArmA 1.05, Vista 32bit, I have FSX/Locon which work fine but ArmA will not. Tested the clip with the Track software and everything is fine. I have XP on dual boot and the Track IR works great on ArmA, I have just installed it fresh to vista as the stupid update program for 1.05 kept bugging out with errors before but managed to get it running finally.

I can't, it doesn't make sense, If I was in the USA and bought ArmA and found I couldn't play online with it for a week or so till everyone gets the servers updated I would not be happy. RELEASE NOW, server updates and massive downloads of the patch will take time. Please

Can someone explain why BI have not issued the 1.6 patch to the rest of us, the US release is 1st MAY07 so the game/version has gone Gold, therefore it is ready to roll out as it stands there will be no servers for the US buyers to join because we are all on 1.05. They should release the new version now so everyone is up to date and ready for the US players to join the rest of us!
