I think your HD might be a problem - does it thrash a lot when you play? Put your page file in a separate partition: cf. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314482 I used to have tons of stuttering in OFP (though none in regular desktop usage) before I configured my comp according to what's in the above article - OFP runs nice and smooth, now (CPU is an AMD Athlon64 @ 2.4 GHz, ATI Radeon x850xt, Vista 32-bit, 1600x1200, VD=1200, Terrain Detail=High). I also have my AGP Aperture size down to 64. The anti-malware I run is Microsoft's Windows Live Security Essentials - smoothest anti-malware software I've ever used (I use only Windows built-in firewall, as well).

In the meantime, buy OFP:GOTY.

LOL! funniest thing I read today - thanks! When I get to my game computer, I'll update w/ what I did to get fps in the 20s to 40s. . . For starters, though, I have the frame rate slider all the way to the right. Resolution is at 1600x1200. If you want the game to both look and play better, install Sanctuary's ww4 mod.

I've been using Opera as my main browser since version 3.62 (I think that was the v.#) - it was first with tabbed browsing, iirc. It's improved with every update. I like using the built in mouse gestures in addition to its e-mail client and RSS functions, among other things. I use Opera's custom search functionality daily. Opera's Page Zoom is the best amongst all the browsers I've tried. All these, and more, are built in - no need for addons (though the Widgets are nice). My secondary browser is IE8.

Nope, you're not blind - it looks like a year-and-more's worth of posts disappeared. Edit: It looks like a lot of posts with pictures have been removed. Edit 2: Figured it out - pics are in the other thread (Flash. Photog. 5). And, yeah, those Stary wiarus pics are awesome!

Real quick - in the multiplayer forum, find the CiA thread, go to their site and follow their install instructions for FDF and WGL. Then, with those instructions and procedures under you belt, find ECP and ww4 in the completed mods forum. Grab them and give the FFURs you mentioned another try.

Well, I found out the hard way that my video card was not supported (I had visions of testing at low settings, anyways), but, I must say, that is one slamming install song!
