Mmmmh good! Thanks for the info! Ok for all u guys who want to play with new vegetation, give a try to this: Berghoff Nature Pack3 Berghoff Nature Pack4 Islands with Berghoff vegetation (Only Nature Pack4 and abel.wrp included in the Islands pack are needed for Malden) Malden retextured with the vegetation from this pack looks very nice... The only problem is that with this u will play with Resistance roads instead of my new ones... U can replace the Resistance roads but i think my roads dont fit with nogova, they are too "old and damaged"... Or somebody can remake the wrp's to use only Berghoff vegetation and not stuffs from resistance but i havn't the time to do this... I tried just redirecting the road related files to CWC data but other stuffs from Resistance are used by the .wrp so it didnt worked...

Lol ... in fact, roads weren't supposed to be released so fast, i gave it to Symbiot to test it but 10 minutes later it was on flashpoint.ru and here! Â So of course i didn't have the time to make a readme! Btw, this is not final release cause im not totally satisfied with these roads especially the dirt track that's just a reworked version of nogova one and i d'like to make one totally by myself... I also wanted to make an installer but the problem is if u use llauma sky or other addon that doesn't use the original dta.pbo, i'll have to make so many installers as there are addons modifying the original dta.pbo... Â So, the simpliest way is to decompress the dta.pbo currently in use with some util like pbotool, pbo decryptor,... replace the old .paa and recompress the dta.pbo.... (and make a backup before of course )

Our first goal is to update the original islands, to make them look more realistic & beautiful and especially that u have the same feeling walking on it and say: "This is Malden but... WOW this looks nice!" The vegetation from Resistance doesn't fit the mediterranean atmosphere of Malden and i think it should be a mistake to put the continental climate vegetation of Nogova on it even if it is more detailed it will simply looks wrong... Btw, Symbiot was working on the trees but its kind of hard job and some are so low-res that we can't even know what tree it is in the real world....

I will really begin to work on Everon (and i suppose Symbiot too ) the next week, then i'll make a new topic in Addons Discussion to show the progress... And of course this is planned to be out before Armed Assault!

Sounds like texture swapping :P (your video card has not got enough VRAM) This very strange because when i play with my xp3200+ 1gbram ati9700pro 128mb with game settings at maximum quality(except terrain set to average) and 1500m viewdistance i only have 15 seconds slowing when starting a map then the game runs as well as with original textures. Although with high quality for terrain elevation i experience slowings like u said with 2048 but also with 128 textures....

Jones [PL] I will probably work on kolgugev and everon but there are more textures than in malden and the pack for 2048 will certainly be bigger than 750mb and even a computer with 1gb of memory would have some difficulties to run it well... Desert Island will come in few days (just a little bug remains but will be corrected shorlty) Symbiot is now working on a texture replacement for the trees and buildings and even with the original models, it looks very impressive!

The 1024 pack has just been uploaded on http://ofp.gamezone.cz ftp Just have to wait few time to see in in the news... Its size is 68MB

toten_waffe Yeah should run perfectly with your system, its the same as Symbiot config! 5133p39 Well there should be a problem somewhere, it should run fine on your system... And for texture size... well, 2048*2048 textures are 256 times bigger than 128*128 so our texture pack is 256 times bigger than original one... (not exactly because some textures in the original pack are not used by OFP so we haven't replaced them)

np, everybody have the right to criticize But i agree with u, from a distance difference with original is very limited... We have done the maximum we could do to fulfill our goal considering OFP engine limitations....

ShadowY The fact is that textures in ofp format (paa/pac) have mipmaps so that resolution decrease with the distance to preserve fps... The only way to conserve 2048 resolution at any distance is to put jpg images in abel.pbo instead of paa/pac but no actual cpu can handle it with a reasonable framerate... we already tested it  what's more, artefacts are appearing with jpg's when u are far from a texture...

ShadowY Just try to activate Anisotropic Filtering in videocard settings like it was sad in the readme...... Â You will see the difference..... And try to set you gamma in the game

Yeah my account finally works! (have to register again) Well, well, well, I'm currently uploading file on http://ofp.gamezone.cz 1h30 remaining then they'll have to update the news with it, can't tell how much time it will take... the file size is 353MB, winrar compression is better than what i expected! This is for 2048, 1024 pack will come in one or two days, need time to get all tga's together and then convert them...
