  1. Operation Flashpoint desperately needs realistically modeled rifle scopes that can be set by windage and elevation. ART I rifle scope on M21 In Operation Flashpoint: Resistance, ART I scope is inaccurately modeled. In real life, the ART has a commercially procured 3- to 9-variable-power telescopic scopesight, modified for use with the M21 sniper rifle. This scope has a modified reticle with a ballistic earn mounted to the power adjustment ring on the ART I. ART I scopes have elevation and windage turrets with dials used for zeroing adjustments. These dials are graduated in .5 MOA increments. ART I scope has a basic cross hair design with two horizontal stadia lines that appear at target distances, 15 inches above and 15 inches below the horizontal line of the reticle. It also has two vertical stadia lines that appear at target distance, 30 inches to the left and 30 inches to the right of the vertical line of the reticle. A ballistic cam is attached to the power adjustment ring on the ART I scope. The power ring increases and decreases the magnification of the scope, while the ballistic cam raises and lowers the scope to compensate for elevation. The ART I scope is designed to automatically adjust for the needed elevation at ranges of 300 to 900 meters. This is done by increasing or decreasing the magnification of the scope until a portion of the target’s image matches the represented measurement of the scope’s reticle. For example, the power ring on the ART I scope can be adjusted until 30 inches of an object or a person’s image (beltline to top of head) fits exactly in between the horizontal stadia lines (top stadia line touching top of the head and bottom stadia line on the beltline). When turning the power ring to adjust the target’s image to the reticle, the sniper is also turning the ballistic cam. This raises or lowers the scope itself to compensate for elevation. Therefore, once the scope’s magnification is properly adjusted in proportion to the target’s image, the ballistic cam has at the same time adjusted the scope for the proper elevation needed to engage the target at that range. PSO-1 rifle scope on SVD Dragunov In Operation Flashpoint: Resistance, PSO-1 scope is inaccurately modeled. In real life, PSO-1 4-power optical sight with illuminated reticle permits to conduct firing under bad conditions of illumination and at infrared sources. When observing the infrared sources, the rays radiated by the source pass through the sight objective and effect the screen, located in the focal plane of the objective lens. In place of acting the infrared rays luminescence appears on the screen. It results in a visible source image in the form of a round greenish spot. On the top of the scope is a knob with an elevation scale plotted on its cylindrical portion. The elevation scale is provided with ten divisions (from 0 to 10). The value of the scale division equals to 100 m. Beginning from division 3 it is possible to set elevation for every 50 m using the knob retainer. On the right side of the body there is a knob with the scale for windage corrections. The cylindrical portion of the knob is provided with 21 divisions (from 0 to 10 in both directions). The value of the scale division equals to 10cm at 100m. Windage corrections may be set every 5cm at 100m by means of the knob retainer. The elevation scale represents a number of angle marks up to the range of 1300 m. When setting the elevation knob scale at division 10, the peak of the second from the top angle mark will correspond to the range of 1100 m, the peak of the third angle mark to 1200 m, the peak of the forth angle mark to 1300 m. Plotted to the left and to the right from the angle marks is the scale of windage corrections. The value of each division is 10cm at 100m. The values of windage corrections of 50cm at 100m and of 1m at 100m are marked out by an elongated dash line. The value of windage correction of 1m at 100m is marked out by an elongated dash line and designated by a digit 10. Two horizontal dash lines are plotted from the right and from the left of the windage correction scale. The range-finding scale located from the left under the windage correction scale serves for detecting the range up to the target. The range-finding scale represents two lines. The upper (curve) line is calculated for a target 1.7 m in height and is marked with digits 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 (200m, 400m, 600m, 800m and 1000m).
  2. In T72 as gunner. In OFP, not in real life, though I have some experience with M84, yugoslavian version of T72. I don't have OFP GOTY installed at the moment (don't have much time to play it lately) so I would like to know if it's worth installing just for trying this addon.
  3. Very nice exterior but can you please post pictures of tank's interior? The latter is the most important part of any tank addon for me because as a tank crew member I spent most of my time in it.

    New "Test" Scope

Maximus-Sniper, I don't want to brag, but if you want to see how the real M24's optical sight Leupold Mark 4 M3-10x40 looks in OFP and how to use mil-dot reticle for range estimating, you should download my M24 at ofp.info. Be sure to read the readme.txt file that comes with it. Range estimating system in your scope is useless when engaging targets that are only partly visible. Some estimation guidelines for use with my OFP's version of Mark 4 M3-10x40 scope and the real one: When engaging targets that are fully visible: Average height of a man is 5'9". 69 inches x .0254 x 1000 = Range to target in meters Ă‚ Ă‚ Size of target in mils When engaging targets that are only partly visible: The normal distance from the breastbone to the top of the head is 19 inches. 19 inches x 0.254 x 1000 = Range to target in meters Ă‚ Ă‚ Size of target in mils Normal height of human head is 10 inches. 10 inches x .0254 x 1000 = Range to target in meters Ă‚ Ă‚ Size of target in mils This two examples may prove to be of specific use when facing an enemy entranched in bunkers, in vehicles or in dense vegetation.

    M1A1 Abrams Interior

I would like to know if this problem will get fixed (is there a way to fix it myself?), because I find it very annoying and it's the main reason I don't play as gunner or commander in M1A1 although I'd like to. The problem is not with my system, video card or drivers because all my friends who have Operation Flashpoint GOTY v1.96 have that problem too. Apparently a lot of vertexes have their lightning set to "shining" instead of "always in shadow".

    Smg mgv-176

If a weapon is chambered for .22 LR caliber you can't put in it nothing else than .22 LR cartridge! They should teach you that in the army.  If weapon is a revolver chambered for .22 Magnum caliber, you can put in .22 Magnum as well as .22 LR cartridges, but not vice-versa. But we're not talking about revolver here. Way to go Gorenje, you made a submachinegun that is no use to our brave soldiers, because they don't have any .22 LR ammo. Damn! Joking aside… Gorenje made that gun in .22 LR caliber because Slovenian-made .22 LR ammunition was available and was very cheap, but when they tested it, they found out that the damn thing couldn't fire one shot without jamming. As a matter of fact, it only functioned proprely with foreign high-velocity rimfire ammunition - Hirtenberger .22 LR ammo, Remington HV .22 LR ammo... That's BS. Even a burst of .22 LR bullets can't penetrate Level II body armor, not to mention Level III-A, III and IV. Added some additional information.

    Smg mgv-176

They stopped producing it because this crap was one of the most unreliable submachineguns ever built. Better to stick to ovens, refrigerators and washing machines. After all, not everybody is Mr. Gaston Glock. (the company which made MGV-176 (Gorenje) makes home appliances)

    Stoner rilfe sr-25

normaly they come with Leupold's 3.5-10X power(changeable) scope Yea, I know that, but I'm not sure if author of this add-on does too, beacause this is how it should look like. Knight's Armament Co. SR-25 MK11 Mod 0 (used by U.S.Navy SEALs) is equipped with Leupold Mark 4 3.5-10x40mm LR/T M3 scope with Mil-Dot recticle and KMC 30mm scope rings. Modern us infantry

Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm really a lousy texturer. It took me nearly two months to map and make the textures for this weapon and I nearly swore to never do that again. As a matter of fact, I never did any other weapon add-on after M24. I'm specialized in making realistic scope views for sniper rifles so if you need any help with that, let me know.

As Munger said, a year ago I made a M24 sniper rifle with realistic Leupold Mark IV M3 10x40mm optical day sight (can be used for range estimating). M24
  14. Below is the picture of Barrett M82A1M also know as M82A3. No hard feelings but I think you're wrong. Also, check the Barret Firearms website at http://www.barrettrifles.com http://www.gun-world.net/USA/Barrett/HKcal501.jpg
  15. Front sight for Barret M82A1 is wrong (look at the exploded view of M82) and why is it in upwards position if the rifle has a scope attached?

    New ONS Canadian units out!

In Afghanistan on the 8th of August 2002, a Canadian sniper took the longest confirmed kill on a human- 2430m! Rifle was a McMillan Tac-50, 5-shot bolt-action sniper rifle in .50 BMG cal. Ammo is supposed to have been 686gr M33 Ball.

Drill Sergeant: I am not here to criticize your add-on, but I would like to give a comment about those two so-called M4 "sniper rifles" on a picture you posted. First of all, these are not sniper rifles. Period. I bet they can't shoot 2 MOA groups (for example, this is an accuracy of famous Snayperskaya Vintovka Dragunova, which is not a true sniper rifle, but more a weapon to extend the range of the average rifle squad), and if you disagree, I would like to see a reliable proof such as documented test, not just usual U.S. Army boasting. They have extremely short barrels, judging from the picture they sure aren't longer than 400mm (optimal length of the barrel for majority calibers to achieve their maximum muzzle velocity is 600mm) and they use a weak caliber (5.56x45mm), which has a light and very unstable bullet (totally inappropriate for use in military sniper rifles) so their effective range is barely 350m. And one more thing - military sniper with true sniper rifle should be able to successfully engage targets up to 1000m. With these compact assault rifles with riflescopes and bipods he sure as hell can't. Ă‚

If this is some kind of a joke? Because I don't get it. The following info - "MP5 Navy models have threaded barrels and can be used with or without an optional wet technology stainless steel sound suppressor." - I found on official Heckler & Koch homepage (http://www.heckler-koch.de/html....ex.html).

No, as far as I know, MP5A3 is not silencer/suppressor capable, but MP5-N is. MP5 Navy models have threaded barrels and can be used with or without an optional wet technology stainless steel sound suppressor.

    The s.j.b. handgun project

My bad, I was referring to that model, P228, which is a compact version of P266 (that's why I got a bit confused). Marking on P226, shown on the first picture, is just fine. I'm sorry for that comment, won't happen again.

    The s.j.b. handgun project

Few posts ago, you posted a link to a picture of your SIG-Sauer P226 with silver finish. http://sjb.ofprc.net/Preview....8_1.jpg The font on your pistol is far from being identical to font SIG-Sauer use on their handguns and on your pistol, marking is on RIGHT side of the slide where it shouldn't been. Frankly, I don't give a *uck if you take this into account, but that is how it is on real handgun, buddy.

    The s.j.b. handgun project

If I may comment, real SIG-Sauer P226 doesn't have "SIG-Sauer" marking on the right side of the slide, only on the left side. The font you used for marking is wrong.
